British Hindu men brutally attacked in London after being asked their origin; Tory MP calls it ‘religious hatred'
On May 30, three British Hindu men were brutally beaten in an unprovoked assault by three older men, who seemingly were Muslims when they told they were Indian, Sri Lankan upon being asked their ethnicity in London park, further leaving two victims unconscious and all three with facial fractures, cuts and bruises, Times Of India reported. While discussing the case in the House of Commons on Thursday, Tory MP Bob Blackman called it as 'religious hatred", the report added.
The friends, aged 20-21, reportedly went to Harrow Recreation Ground to play cricket. The report said around 6 pm, the three men passed a café where a group of about eight people, believed to be a Muslim family (some women were wearing hijabs) were seated. One of the men from the café confronted the three, asking why they were looking at his family. They replied that they were looking at friends playing cricket instead of his family.
The situation was defused by three men as the two from the other side appeared to acknowledge their answer. They sat on a bench after returning to park. After 30 minutes, a man in mid 20s, asked them, 'Where are you from? Are you Sri Lankan? Are you Indian?' One of the Sri-Lankan men responded, 'Yes, we are.' They were kicked, punched, according to a sister of British Indian Gujarati Hindu man.
'My brother was wearing a sacred thread from a mandir on his wrist,' his sister told TOI. The alleged attacker was in Moroccan football t-shirt with the number 2 and the word 'Hakimi' written on it.
'My brother is struggling. He feels as if people are looking at him and is ashamed to step out of the house. He has never in a flight before. He has just done his first year exams and was meant to resume his two-week clinical placement the week after the attack and that has been put on hold, ' she stated, while saying that she was dissatisfied with police probe as it progressed as after two weeks later they had not checked CCTV footage.
The Met police told TOI that they were called to manage a 'fight' and one was shifted to hospital 'with a head injury' and there is currently no evidence to suggest the attack was racially motivated, and their inquiries are ongoing. No arrests have been made so far in connection with this incident.

10 talathis suspended in Jalna farmer compensation scam, FIR likely
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Jalna district administration suspended 10 talathis on Friday for their alleged involvement in misappropriating Rs 34.97 crore of crop compensation meant for farmers. This action follows the findings of a govt-appointed probe committee that identified significant irregularities in how the aid was distributed. Jalna district collector Shrikrishna Panchal verified the suspensions and said additional disciplinary actions are in progress. "Showcause notices were earlier issued to all the officials named in the report. Based on their replies and the severity of charges, we have suspended 10 talathis so far," he said. Sources said authorities are considering filing police complaints against the guilty parties. A senior official told TOI: "Departmental action has already started, and the possibility of criminal proceedings, including an FIR, is being discussed at a senior level." The irregularities came to light during an audit of Rs 79 crore disbursed as crop loss compensation for damage caused by excessive rainfall, floods, and hailstorms in 2022, 2023, and 2024. This amount was part of a larger Rs 450crore compensation package for the Jalna district. The investigation discovered claims were made even on govt-owned class-II lands. The investigation revealed that Rs 34.97 crore, from the Rs 79 crore allotment, was misappropriated through fraudulent inclusion of ineligible beneficiaries. The deception involved the manipulation of beneficiary records from Ambad and Ghansawangi talukas, affecting 1.79 lakh farmer accounts. The investigation extends to gram sevaks and agricultural assistants, with departmental proceedings anticipated. Officials continue to examine the remaining Rs 7 crore from the audited amount, assuring that legitimate farmers will not suffer due to these corrective measures. BJP MLA Narayan Kuche and former minister Babanrao Lonikar want FIRs to be filed against govt officials at all levels for allegedly diverting funds intended for farmers. Keir Starmer announces inquiry into grooming gangs who sexually exploited girls
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Saturday said he would back a national inquiry into grooming gangs that sexually abused thousands of girls across the country, marking a significant shift in the government's stance on the announcement comes after Louise Casey, a former senior government official, conducted a "rapid audit" of the current scale and nature of gang-based child sexual exploitation in Britain. The audit had been commissioned in January by Home Secretary Yvette Cooper amid growing public pressure and renewed scrutiny of past failures by to reporters, Starmer said Casey had initially believed there was no need for a new national inquiry, but changed her position after reviewing the evidence. "She has looked at the material she has looked at and she has come to the view that there should be a national inquiry on the basis of what she has seen," Starmer said. "I have read every single word of her report and I am going to accept her recommendation." The issue of grooming gangs has long been a deeply sensitive and politically charged subject in the UK. The scandal, which came to light over a decade ago, exposed how gangs-many composed predominantly of Pakistani men-had systematically groomed, trafficked, and raped young white girls, often in towns such as Rotherham, Rochdale, and investigations later revealed that local authorities and police had failed to act on reports of abuse for years, often out of fear of being accused of racism or stoking community girls in the UK were befriended by young Muslim men and then passed on to older men who would become their boyfriends. What followed was gang rapes and several degrees of other forms of grooming gangs had a pattern: girls as young as 10-year-old girls in Rotherham, Oldham and other areas were lured by Pakistani-origin men, then taken to older men who would control and manipulate them. These young girls would then be gang-raped by these men and their relatives and friends for years. The authorities also did not act when these women reported their abuse as they allegedly tried to avoid hurting cultural sensitivities in the matter returned to the spotlight earlier this year after US tech billionaire Elon Musk accused the British government of not doing enough to address the historic and ongoing exploitation of vulnerable girls. His comments, shared widely on social media, reignited public outrage and prompted renewed calls for a comprehensive and independent now, the Labour government had resisted demands for a full statutory review, arguing that numerous local and national investigations had already been carried Reel
