Saiyaara box office: Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda starrer trumps Chhaava & Thudarum to become 2nd highest Indian overseas grosser of 2025
Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda starrer Saiyaara is on the verge of completing its 2nd week, yet the romantic drama continues its record-breaking run not only at the domestic box office but also in the international markets.
Till now, the romantic drama has grossed $11.21 million in the international markets and is currently the highest Bollywood & 2nd-highest Indian grosser of 2025 at the overseas box office after L2: Empuraan ( $16.95 million), beating Thudarum ($11 million) and Chhaava ($10.25 million).

It is quite difficult for Mohit Suri's directorial to surpass the business of Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer; however, a romantic drama featuring newcomers has already surpassed several biggies, which is a very big deal.
Despite not going all out with the promotions, Saiyaara garnered unprecedented excitement among the cinegoers. Before the release of the movie, director Mohit Suri spoke about it and told Firstpost, 'I've been inside the studio for the last one month. I have no idea. And unlike the past when people travel from one studio to another, this is everything inhouse at YRF. So I haven't really gone out and met the world outside. Normally, when you are working on other films, you go out for the day; for sound, edit, and VFX. It was different different places.
And just hearing it now, it does feel it does feel very redeeming and validating because when I started off this film, I was quite discouraged by a lot of senior people saying that nobody would be interested in a young love story. Because at that time, larger-than-life films were being made and I just thought that my voice would be lost there when everyone was shouting. So I just went and tried to make a film which is very different from what others were doing. And to me, the fact that people are appreciating that the difference that it's standing out means a lot.'

For the unversed, the 2019 Siddharth Anand-directed movie has collected Rs 292 crore net in India while the sports-drama had smashed Rs 300 crore net in 2016. 'Ramayana' has been part of Indian mythology for ages. But what if we tell you that it is now being re-interpreted into a series using Artificial Intelligence? Yes, you heard it right! Mumbai-based Cinefai Studios released the trailer for their latest project, 'Ramayana', a few days ago. The trailer of the new episodic series offers a glimpse into the classic Indian epic crafted entirely using advanced AI critic Taran Adarsh shared the trailer for the series on X. He also informed that the first episode of the series is already out. The trailer showcases the gripping tale of Ram and Sita retold through next-generation visualisation techniques. It is available for viewing on the studio's Instagram and YouTube channels. Several social media users reacted to the post, saying the trailer looks good. An Indian administrative officer has shared the story of an extraordinary friendship between two elephants who have been inseparable for over 55 years. Supriya Sahu, on Friendship Day, spotlighted Bhama, 75, and Kamatchi, 65, two elephants at the Theppakadu Elephant Camp in Mudumalai, Nilgiris. "This Friendship Day, we celebrate a bond that has stood the test of time not between humans, but between two magnificent elephants," the IAS officer wrote on Sunday. She added a video of the duo strolling side by side. Bhama and Kamatchi have been at each other's side for decades. Eating together, resting together, and even demanding their sugarcane treats as a pair. "For them, friendship is everything," Ms Sahu said. "Here's to Bhama and Kamatchi, an enduring symbol of love, loyalty, and lifelong friendship," she wrote, adding the hashtag "Friendship Day." The models, inspired by real elephants from Mudumalai National Park, were installed at Chennai's Edward Elliott's Beach to raise awareness about wildlife conservation. She mentioned that the initiative was guided by an expert group and served a dual purpose, to provide livelihood opportunities to tribal communities and promote ecological restoration by removing harmful plant species.
