Online applications for admissions in TTD Jr colleges from May 15

Tirupati: The TTD invites online applications from eligible students for admissions in its Sri Padmavathi Mahila Junior College and Sri Venkateswara Junior College in Tirupati for the academic year 2025-26.
In a statement on Sunday, Devasthanams Education Officer (DEO) T Venkata Suneelu said that all online applications in English will be available from May 15 to 31 for the convenience of the students.
The user manual and the prospectus of the respective colleges have been uploaded in Telugu and English on the TTD portal.

Vontimitta/Tirupati: Sri Sitarama Kalyanotsavam was celebrated with grandeur on Wednesday at Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple in Vontimitta, Kadapa district, an affiliated temple under the Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams, marking the auspicious occasion of Jyestha Pournami. The festival deities of Sri Sita and Sri Rama were elegantly adorned with golden ornaments and colourful flowers and seated on a specially decorated platform within the temple premises. The temple priests performed various traditional rituals, including Vishwaksena Puja, Kalasha Sthapana, Kalasha Puja, Vasudeva Punyavachanam, Kankana Puja and Dharana, Yajnopavita Puja and Dharana, offering of silk clothes and Madhuparkam, Kanyadanam, Mangala Puja, Mangalyadharana, exchange of garlands, Varanamayiram, Maha Nivedana, and Karpoora Harati. Devotees from the surrounding areas of Vontimitta gathered to witness the divine celestial wedding and had darshan of the deities. They also received Theertham and Prasadam. TTD officials and devotees actively participated in the event.

TIRUMALA: The three-day sacred festival of Jyestabhisekam concluded on a grand note at Srivari temple on Wednesday morning as Sri Malayappaswamy and His consorts were re-draped once again in gold kavacham. Earlier after Maha Shanti Homam at the Kalyana Mandapam in the Sampangi Prakaram, the Utsava idols were given Snapana Thirumanjanam before adorning them in gold kavacham. Later in the evening, the Utsava idols were taken around in procession in the Mada streets to bless the devotees. The TTD cancelled Arjitha Svas like the Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva and Arjitha Brahmotsavams to facilitate the Jyestabhisekam rituals. Sri Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy and Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, TTD Board Member Suchitra Ella, Addl EO C.H. Venkaiah Chowdary, Peishkar Rama Krishna and Others Participated.

Kanchi Acharya releases Tamil translation of books published by The Hindu Group on Mahaswamigal

The pontiff of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, Sri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswati Shankaracharya, on Tuesday released the Tamil translations of two volumes of the book published by The Hindu Group titled, 'Embodiment of Truth - Kanchi Mahaswami' (Unmayin Avatharam - Kanchi Mahaswami), at the Kanchi Mutt's branch in Tirupati. He appreciated The Hindu Group for its role in bringing the teachings and discourses of the 68th pontiff of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Shankaracharya Mahaswamigal, to the public. He said the two volumes were published in English earlier, and based on requests from devotees, the Tamil version had been published. The Shankaracharya said the book detailed Mahaswamigal's life, spiritual journeys, public discourses, teachings, and the widespread reception he received, which were compiled from news reports and photographs published in The Hindu. It also includes his personal experiences with Mahaswamigal, the Shankaracharya said. Close relationship Further, the Shankaracharya highlighted the close relationship between the Kanchi Mutt and The Hindu Group, recalling Mahaswamigal's visit to The Hindu office. The first and second copies of the books were received by Prof. Devanathachariar of the National Sanskrit University, Tirupati, and P. Vaidyanathan, Chairman, Integrated Enterprises, respectively. Prior to the release, special rituals were held at the Kamakshi Amman temple in Kancheepuram and Mahaswamigal's Adhishtanam at Kanchi Mutt. The price of the two volumes is ₹799.
