Why Zoë Kravitz and Lisa Bonet Ended Up Wrecking Taylor Swift's Bathroom

Ellea day ago
THE RUNDOWN:
Zoë Kravitz is opening up about her L.A. fire evacuation story, and it involves her friend Taylor Swift.
On August 12, Kravitz appeared on an episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers to promote her new film, Caught Stealing, co-starring Austin Butler. During their conversation, she mentioned that when the California wildfires occurred earlier this year, she needed a safe place to shelter, and Swift kindly opened up her home. Kravitz's mom, Lisa Bonet, lives in Topanga Canyon, and because it was a dangerous place to be, her mom stayed at Swift's house, too. And Bonet brought her pet snake, Orpheus.
'We ended up having to stay there for about two weeks,' Kravitz said. 'And Taylor has this beautiful house. It's from the '30s, it's something you want to preserve and take care of.' She also added that she tries to be a 'good houseguest who leaves places better than I found them. I don't want her to even know we were here.'
But when Kravitz was preparing to leave the house for work, she got a call from her mom. Bonet said that she was in a 'little bit of a pickle.'
Kravitz went to find her in an upstairs bathroom, and she was crouched in the corner. 'And I'm like, 'What's going on, dude?' And she's like, 'So, I was washing my face, and I had Orpheus, and I just put her down for a second, closed the door, and she found this little hole in the corner,'' Kravitz explained.
The hole was next to a banquette built into the wall, and that's where the snake was trapped. Bonet, by the way, was holding the snake's tail. As they struggled to get Orpheus out, the snake crawled further into the wall.
Kravitz called her assistant, who was not helpful, and then called Swift's house manager, who got a crowbar and tore apart the banquette.
'We're ripping up the tile. We're scratching the walls. We're completely destroying Taylor's bathroom. And there was just this moment where I was like, 'Either we destroy her bathroom or I have to tell her that there's a snake somewhere in her house.''
She told the house manager, 'Obviously, I'm gonna pay for everything to be fixed. Please just don't say anything until it's fixed.'
Eventually, Kravitz had to call Swift to confess. 'I remember calling her, saying, 'Hey, I wanted to talk to you about something.' And she was like, 'Is it the fact that you almost lost a snake in my house and destroyed my bathroom?''
Meyers then showed a photo of the whole bathroom scene with Kravitz, Bonet, and the house manager trying to rescue the snake.
Kravitz joked that Swift's next album would be called Orpheus. But as we know, Swift recently announced her upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl.

From otters to sourdough, everything we learned about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's romance on the 'New Heights' podcast

Swift appeared on the Aug. 13 episode of 'New Heights' alongside Kelce and his brother, Jason. They're not fighting the alchemy. Taylor Swift appeared on boyfriend Travis Kelce's podcast New Heights to talk about her new album The Life of a Showgirl, and over the course of the episode, also gave fans major insight into their relationship of more than two years. This is the first time that Swift has appeared on New Heights, which Kelce hosts with his brother Jason. But it's not surprising that Swift and Kelce flaunted their love on the mic: the two have hardly been shy about how much they care for each other, with plenty of paparazzi photos documenting their PDA at events like the U.S. Open and the Super Bowl. Just this week, Kelce gushed over his girlfriend in an interview for GQ. Swift, meanwhile, has brought Kelce into the fold on the Eras Tour, shouting him out as 'the guy on the Chiefs' in her song 'Karma' and even performing alongside him for a special version of 'I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.' Yet the New Heights podcast — the most-watched in the podcast's history at 10 million views on YouTube alone — gave nearly two hours of Swelce content, revealing more about their relationship than ever before. Here's what we learned: The friendship bracelet saga Swift and Kelce's romance began after the NFL player attended the Kansas City stop of the Eras Tour in July 2023. Kelce was enamored with Swift following her performance, and was disappointed that he couldn't meet up with her after the show in order to give her a friendship bracelet he made her — something he spoke about on New Heights back in July 2023. On her episode of New Heights, Swift teased that Kelce 'threw a tantrum' — despite not even reaching out to her management about securing a meeting. 'This dude didn't get a meet and greet and he's making it everyone's problem, that's what I thought at first,' Swift joked. But after the podcast aired, Swift said she started hearing from mutual friends that Kelce was actually a good guy, prompting her to schedule a meetup. 'I was like, if this guy isn't crazy — which is a big if,' she said, 'this is sort of what I've been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager.' Kelce supported Swift when she got her masters back On New Heights, Swift spoke about her long journey to gain ownership over her masters, something that she's wanted for her entire music career. When she received the phone call from her mother Andrea Swift that said she was finally able to purchase her masters, Swift went to Kelce crying. Kelce, apparently, also had an emotional reaction. 'I started crying, too,' Kelce said on the podcast, to which Swift added, 'You were weeping.' 'I was just so happy for you, because I've seen, I've seen how you make music. I've seen how you make these videos,' he explained. Swift loves to bake for Kelce — and the whole family Swift joked that she gets into a new baking obsession 'every six months' — and that the Kelce family reaps the benefits. She sent Kelce sourdough loafs while the athlete was at training camp, and also made a funfetti sourdough bread for Kelce's brother and New Heights co-host Jason Kelce's four daughters. 'We put sprinkles in everything when we hang out,' Swift said. 'She's a loafer for life now,' Kelce joked. Kelce loves otters The couple admitted that the internet can be a tough place, given how many people want to weigh in on their lives — but it's also a beautiful one, because 'Travis shows me videos of otters on his Instagram algorithm,' Swift said. 'I want a wild otter so bad,' Kelce said. Kelce's heard the 'bangers' on Unsurprisingly, Kelce has already heard The Life of a Showgirl, and loves the new album, which he called a 'complete 180' from a lot of the songs on her previous album The Tortured Poets Department. 'I've been fortunate enough to hear every single song on here, so I know they're all 12 bangers,' he said. 'It's a lot more upbeat, and it's a lot more like fun pop, like excitement.' Swift and Kelce tune out the noise around their relationship While many people have commented — and speculated — about the state of her and Kelce's romance, Swift told Jason on the podcast that she tries to stay tuned out of the noise online. 'Anything you feed your brain, it will internalize,' Swift said. 'Anything you feed the internet, it will kill. I've been in the music industry for 20 years — it's pretty hard to hurt my feelings.' Kelce admitted he was worried about some of the 'wacko theories' that emerged when they first started dating, and was concerned it could 'screw up' his romance with Swift. 'Her being so calm, cool, collected and so just real and understanding about everything that's going on really made me grow up real fast in that, in that aspect of things,' he said. Swift also shared that Kelce's ability to laugh off comments online has helped her shake them off, too. 'I think the fact that you genuinely find a lot of online discourse to be truly hilarious, that changes things for me,' she said. 'If he's seeing things and he thinks it's funny and it doesn't even affect his day at all, that's really completely bled into the way that I metabolize these things.' Solve the daily Crossword

Google Celebrates Taylor Swift With A Sparkly Search Page Easter Egg

If you Google Taylor Swift, you're in for a showgirl-themed surprise this week. Taylor Swift announced her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, on August 12. A day later, Swift talked about the upcoming album on a podcast hosted by Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (better known in some quarters as Taylor Swift's boyfriend, and we love that for him) and his brother, retired Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce. Fans who turn to Google for more details about Taylor Swift and The Life of a Showgirl are being treated to a sparkly shower of orange confetti, followed by a flaming heart that floats up from the bottom of the screen with the words "And baby, that's show business for you." When the confetti shower is over, an orange button at the bottom of the screen displays a counter (61.17 million as of about 1 PM Eastern Time on August 14). It's not clear whether the counter represents the number of Google searches for Taylor Swift or the number of people who have clicked on the button. Clicking the button triggers another confetti drop and makes little hearts float up from the counter, which lends some support to the notion that button-clicks are at least part of what's being counted (your faithful correspondent is positively giddy to report that a well-timed click rolled the counter over from 61.17 to 61.18 million; so much for the high school physics teacher who said I'd never amount to anything). We've Got a Long List of Ex-Searches This isn't the first time Google has given Taylor Swift fans an Easter egg; in September 2023, the launch of 1989 (Taylor's Version) came complete with a series of word puzzles, which users had to work together to solve in order to unlock a "vault" of information about deleted tracks from the album. "'Cause darling, we're a Swiftie dressed like a search engine," as Google put it. Google's search page Easter eggs have been a staple of internet culture since the early 2000s. One of the oldest and most famous is what happens when you search for "do a barrel roll." No spoilers here. Since then, Google has hosted Easter eggs for various holidays, sporting events, and pop-culture events like movie and album releases. Searches for hip-hop duo Flyana Boss, heavy metal singer/songwriter Ozzy Osbourne, and pop star Lady Gaga used to trigger their own themed Easter Eggs, but Google has since discontinued them. Other discontinued Easter Eggs featured the movies It Follows, It (not to be confused with It Follows), and Wicked. That suggests that if you want to get your Swiftie confettie fix, you should get it soon -- but unofficial website Elgoog keeps most of Google's past Easter Eggs alive on its archive (you could say that Google buries hatchets and Elgoog keeps maps of where it put 'em). Plenty of Google's own Easter eggs are still up and running, so if you've had your fill of confetti, or if you're (gasp!) not a Swiftie, check these out: Pop culture and fandom Science (because that's what we do here)

Taylor Swift Says It Was a 'Great Challenge' Introducing Jason Kelce's Kids to Her Cats After He Told Them Cats Were Poisonous

The former NFL player has previously shared his tactics to get out of adopting a cat NEED TO KNOW Taylor Swift is embarking on her greatest challenge — trying to convince Jason Kelce's daughters to be cat lovers The singer spoke about how she introduced Jason's four girls to her cats during a podcast appearance Jason has previously shared that he's trying to deter his family from getting a cat by telling them cats are poisonous Taylor Swift has found her greatest challenge yet — making Jason Kelce's daughters cat lovers. The "Cruel Summer" singer, 35, appeared on Jason and Travis Kelce's podcast New Heights and was asked by the Kansas City Chiefs tight end about his brother telling his four daughters that cats are poisonous. "It was actually really a great challenge because as soon as I got the kids around the cats, it was my goal to prove to them that they weren't poisonous," Swift explained. "And there's no better way to prove that than to just hand them Benjamin, my rag doll cat, who lets humans hold him like he's a baby." "And I mean, my favorite thing ever is when [Jason's daughter] Benny will come up to me and just go, 'I find Benjamin. I find him,' " she continued. "And she's just like over there, laying with him and petting him and holding him." The musician went on to say that her cats are "so good" with kids, especially since Jason's daughters will just "drag" them. "They're just like, 'Meredith is here!' " Swift said, mimicking Jason's daughters' voices. "I'm like, 'Yup. And you know what? She didn't bite you at all, did she? And if she did bite you, she wouldn't be poisonous.' They're like, 'That's not what our dad said.' And I'm like, 'Well.'" Swift then went on to say that she had heard Jason and his family were getting a cat from a very "well-placed source." 'I will neither confirm nor deny. We'll see if it does get to that,' Jason replied. 'You're getting like a proper cat. You're getting a cat that chases mice,' Swift said. 'What I have are not that. They sit around, and that's enough.' 'There's a chance I've been talked into a barn cat,' Jason admitted. 'That does not go inside, that will survive off of rodents in the field and guard our house.' 'Those girls are going to be sneaking that cat into their beds every single night,' Swift predicted. Jason went on to joke that this exact situation is "why I lie to my kids," saying he wants them to be "critical thinkers." "They need to realize it's absurd to think this, and you handing them Benjamin and then walking them through critical thinking ability. Now all of a sudden they won't believe something that every moron tells them on the Internet, right?' Jason joked. 'Yeah, it was really like, I know it wasn't helpful for you, but it was helpful for me,' Swift replied. Last September, Jason shared on an episode of his podcast that he told his daughters that cats 'are poisonous' in an attempt to stop them from bringing a feline home. 'You know what my latest plan to divert our family from getting a cat is? I just keep telling our girls that cats are poisonous,' Jason revealed. 'Why the f--- would you tell them that?' Travis sked. "... So that they don't want cats,' explained Jason. 'And I don't have to deal with having a cat and make them terrified.' Read the original article on People
