Seven people have been hospitalised with serious injuries after a fire tore through a residential home in the Caerau area of Cardiff in the early hours of this morning, April 29.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene of a fire on Tresedar Way at 3.45am alongside South Wales Police and the Welsh Ambulance Service. Seven people were inside a property as it became engulfed in flames and all remain in hospital receiving treatment at this time.

Six ambulances attended as well as an air ambulance, where one of the seven injured in the fire received "critical care support." Follow live updates on the incident here.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called today, Tuesday 29 April 2025, at approximately 3.50am, to reports of a fire at a property on Treseder Way in Cardiff.
'We sent six emergency ambulances, one operations manager, and the Hazard Area Response Team to the scene.

'Advanced critical care support was delivered by the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service in a Wales Air Ambulance Charity helicopter.
"One patient was conveyed by air and six patients by road to hospital for further treatment."

The fire service sent units from all over the Vale of Glamorgan and firefighters spent three hours tackling the blaze after rescuing one of the casualties from inside the property.
A spokesperson for SWFRS said: "We received a call at approximately 03:45 to reports of a domestic fire at a property in Caerau, Cardiff.
"Crews and appliances from Ely, Cardiff Central, Whitchurch, Barry and Penarth attended the scene of a two storey semi detached property.

"Crews used four breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one Firefighter jet, one safety jet, a thermal imaging camera and a positive pressure ventilation to tackle the fire.
"There was no sign of fire spread to adjoining properties. Stop message was received around 06:57.

Mountain rescuers helped injured walkers to safety after three incidents in an area known as Wales' "waterfall country" on from Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team responded after a woman suffered a fractured leg at Henrhyd Falls, Coelbren, in Bannau Brycheiniog, also known as the Brecon Beacons and a Welsh Ambulance Service hazardous area response team helped get her to safety.A second woman was rescued after injuring her leg at Sgwd Gwli in Fechan Valley, Powys. Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team also received a callout after a man suffered a suspected fractured femur at Sgwd Gwladys, Glynneath. "We wish all the casualties a speedy recovery," said rescuers in a Facebook post.
