Josh Kelly vows to KO Conor Benn and slams Chris Eubank Jr in double call out

He missed the 160lb middleweight limit by an agonising 0.05lb - costing him a £375,000 fine - and had a 10lb reydration clause. And Benn also had to jump over a stone from his regular fighting weight of 147lb. So Kelly - now at 154lb at super-welterweight - is open to welcoming Benn to the division or stepping up to fight Eubank. 'I don't think Eubank would go anywhere near me. I think I've got more of a chance getting the Conor Benn fight. "If he can't make 147 anymore, or struggles to get down there, I'm the biggest guy at 154.' Kelly is even willing to meet Benn at a 157lb catchweight clash, adding: 'In a heartbeat. Kelly, 31, returns on Friday in Newcastle against Romanian Flavius Biea but has big-money bouts against the likes of Benn, 28, in his sights. He said: 'Conor's a very clever fighter in terms of marketing. I should take a leaf out of his book. I should start shouting everybody out. "I should just say, 'I'm only fighting the ones who are going to make me the most money'.'

Liverpool make £109million offer for Bayer Leverkusen forward Florian Wirtz
The Reds' second bid for the Germany international, which includes add-ons, would make him the most expensive signing in the club's history if it is accepted by Leverkusen. Wirtz was a star performer in Leverkusen's domestic league and cup triumph in the 2023-24 season and also shone for Germany in last summer's Euros. The 22-year-old featured in 31 Bundesliga matches in the season just ended, scoring 10 goals. Liverpool have completed the signing of one Leverkusen player in the shape of Jeremie Frimpong. Frimpong was officially announced on Friday after the Reds triggered his £29.5m release clause and the wing-back completed his medical tests. The Dutch defender progressed through Manchester City's academy before he joined Celtic in 2019. It was at Leverkusen where Frimpong caught the eye worldwide and helped the Bundesliga outfit clinch a league and cup double in 2024. "I'm going to give my all, my energy, my work-rate and hopefully we can win together, we celebrate together, get everything together." Head to All Red video to hear from Jeremie Frimpong after signing for the Reds 🗣️ — Liverpool FC (@LFC) May 30, 2025 After the 24-year-old put pen to paper on a long-term contract, he told 'It went quite easy. Liverpool came and said they had interest, and obviously for me it was a no-brainer. 'For me, it was like, 'Whatever you guys do, just get this done', [speaking to] my agents: 'Just get this done.' 'Liverpool fans, I'm going to give my all, my energy, my work-rate and hopefully we can win together, we celebrate together, get everything together. 'I'm just excited to be here. Thank you guys for accepting me and I won't let you guys down and I'll give you the energy that you guys want.' PA understands Frimpong's £29.5m fee will be paid in three instalments and Liverpool view him as an option at wing-back and on the right wing, especially with Mohamed Salah set to compete at the Africa Cup of Nations in January.

Iga Swiatek's bid for fifth French Open boosted by win and Jelena Ostapenko exit
Swiatek swept into the fourth round and has yet to drop a set after beating Romanian Jaqueline Cristian 6-2 7-5. The defending champion feared she would meet her nemesis, Jelena Ostapenko, who has remarkably beaten Swiatek in all six of their career meetings. 24 matches won in a row in Paris 🧡#RolandGarros @iga_swiatek — Roland-Garros (@rolandgarros) May 30, 2025 But Latvian Ostapenko, the 2017 winner in Paris, was beaten 6-2 6-2 by Elena Rybakina to rob Roland Garros of a grudge match for the ages in the last 16. Asked if she had a preference about who to play, while the Ostapenko match was still in progress, Swiatek smiled: 'No. Am I a good liar? Let's say it doesn't matter, really. Oh my God. I couldn't play poker!' Swiatek is without a title since this time last year and has slipped to number five in the world. But the Pole has yet to run into any difficulty as she stretched her winning streak at Roland Garros to 24 matches. Aryna Sabalenka, the top-ranked player by some distance, is many people's favourite to win her first French Open title. But the Belarusian was keen to heap the pressure on to Swiatek's shoulders after beating Olga Danilovic 6-2 6-3. 'It's tough to predict in woman's tennis, you know,' she said. 'Let's just leave it on Iga since she won it, what, three times in a row, right? I will just leave it for her.' Sabalenka will face American Amanda Anisimova, the 16th seed, on Sunday. Last year's runner-up Jasmine Paolini, the fourth seed from Italy, is through after a 6-4 6-1 win over Ukrainian Yuliia Starodubtseva Qinwen Zheng's match with Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko was temporarily halted after a spectator injured themselves in the stands. The Chinese eighth seed was a set and a break up at the time and eventually won 6-4 6-3. In the men's draw, American 12th seed Tommy Paul came through his second five-setter this week, beating Russian Karen Khachanov 6-3 3-6 7-6 (7) 3-6 6-3. Italian eighth seed Lorenzo Musetti dropped the first set against Argentina's Mariano Navone but went through in four. In the night match, defending champion Carlos Alcaraz also needed four sets to beat Bosnian Damir Dzumhur. The Spaniard won 6-1 6-3 4-6 6-4 and said: 'The first two sets were under control but then he decided to play deeper and more aggressive. Defending champ locks his place in R4 🔒#RolandGarros — Roland-Garros (@rolandgarros) May 30, 2025 'My energy went down but I had to give everything I had inside. I'm proud to get the win in the end. 'That's why it's difficult to win grand slams, because you have to keep your focus over three or four hours.' French 14th seed Arthur Fils has withdrawn from the tournament with a back injury, giving Russia's Andrey Rublev a walkover into round four.
