Hong Kong's triathlon course dubbed best in world at National Games test event
This year's National Games triathlon in Hong Kong will offer the best course in the world, the city's head coach Andrew Wright said after day one of the harbourfront test event on Saturday.

Staging the event in November promised to do wonders for the sport locally, the coach suggested, while athlete Tallulah Wright anticipated a 'phenomenal' Games and said a partisan crowd 'pushed me harder' after her fifth place in Saturday's women's race.
'The Games is going to be awesome,' Andrew Wright said. 'This is the best course in the world, and it's going to have a big impact on the development of triathlon in Hong Kong.'
The test event did, however, underline the scale of the task for the city's finest in November. Tallulah Wright was the best performer, with Hilda Choi Yan-yin finishing a place back in sixth, an effort matched by Wong Tsz-to among the men.

Shandong province supplied both of the winners. Zhang Xirui was first in the men's race in 55 minutes and 56 seconds, and victory in the women's event went to Yang Yifan, in one hour, two minutes and nine seconds.

Hong Kong claimed an unexpected mixed-relay bronze at the Asia Triathlon Cup in Taizhou on Sunday. 2025 National Games: real-name ticket system may be used, Hong Kong office says
Hong Kong's coordination office for the National Games is studying whether to adopt a real-name system for tickets at prices ranging from a few dozen Hong Kong dollars up to about HK$500 (US$64). Yeung Tak-keung, head of the National Games Coordination Office, said on Saturday that tickets would be sold from August on a unified platform for events to be held in the city, Macau and Guangdong province in November. 'It is estimated that the ticket prices will range from a few dozen dollars to about HK$500 at most, depending on the event, such as the preliminary or final round, and also the number of seats,' he said on a televised programme. 'We will try our best to set the ticket price to a level that is acceptable to all residents.' Yeung said the local office was discussing ticketing details with authorities from Macau and Guangdong, including whether a real-name system would be used as well as other measures to combat scalpers. 'Whether the tickets could be transferred, whether to use a real-name system and how to crack down on scalpers will all be carefully considered,' he said, adding that more details would be released later.

Bailee Brown makes comeback as Hong Kong triathletes compete in Taizhou race
Bailee Brown made a determined return at the Asia Triathlon Cup in Taizhou on Saturday in her first race since a serious finger injury last October, but was forced to withdraw late in the run. Advertisement Brown kept pace early, finishing the opening 1.5 kilometres swim just three seconds behind eventual winner Huang Anqi. On the bike leg, Brown rode with fellow Hong Kong athlete Cade Wright in a group of three before dehydration forced her to stop 3km from the finish of the 10km run. 'It was a step in the right direction, I was impressed she got out there and got stuck in,' Hong Kong head coach Andrew Wright said. 'She's just not sharp enough yet, her race fitness isn't quite there. She pushed herself to the limit and crumbled with 3km to go. She had wobbly legs and dehydration, and couldn't finish.
