PS5 announce Ghost of Yōtei release date and we have everything you need to know
PS5 has announced the release date of new game Ghost of Yōtei - and thrilled fans have already hailed it as "majestic". Ghost of Yōtei is a follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima, which came out five years ago. In that time, creators have been "hard at work making Ghost of Yōtei something special". While the stories unrelated, the new game is a "worthy" addition to Jin's journey and Atsu's quest for vengeance. Sixteen years ago in the heart of Ezo, a gang of outlaws known as the Yōtei Six took everything from Atsu. They killed her family and left her for dead, pinned to a burning ginkgo tree outside her home. But Atsu survived. She learned to fight, to kill, and to hunt, and after years away she has returned to her home with a list of six names: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon , and Lord Saito. She is now hunting them down to avenge her family, armed with the same katana used to pin her to that burning tree all those years ago. But while Atsu's story begins with vengeance, she'll find there's more to her journey than just revenge. As she explores Ezo, Atsu will meet unlikely allies and forge connections that help give her a new sense of purpose. "In Ghost of Yōtei, we've built upon and evolved the way you explore the open world, offering even more freedom and variety than in Ghost of Tsushima," the creators explained in a statement. "You'll choose which leads to follow as you pick which Yōtei Six member you want to hunt down first. Atsu can also track other dangerous targets and claim bounties , or seek out weapon sensei to learn new skills. "As you trek across the open world you'll find unexpected dangers and peaceful reprieves (including some returning activities from Tsushima). You'll be able to build a campfire anywhere in the open world for a rest under the stars." Pre-orders for Ghost of Yōtei begin on May 2 at 10am GMT, and you'll be able to choose between multiple different editions, including our amazing Collector's Edition. If you pre-order any edition of Ghost of Yōtei you'll receive a unique in- game mask, as well as a set of seven PSN avatars featuring concept art of Atsu and each member of the Yōtei Six at launch1. At PlayStation Store, you'll also be able to pre-order the Ghost of Yōtei Digital Deluxe Edition for £79.99. PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 reveal time for the PS5 and PS4 games
The PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 games will be revealed soon, with a slew of PS5 and PS4 titles expected to be announced – here's when the announcement is set to take place It's nearly time for some fresh PS Plus titles for Extra and Premium subscribers, and if recent surprise reveals are anything to go by, it's set to be a lineup that surpasses all expectations. PS Plus subscribers have been truly spoilt this past month. The unexpected drop of new PS Plus titles included bonus games such as Another Crab's Treasure and Grand Theft Auto 3 for Extra and Premium subscribers, along with a significant delivery of Essential games. And it seems the surprises aren't stopping there. The recent PlayStation State of Play reveal gave players a glimpse into what's coming next, announcing that in addition to FBC: Firebreak, gamers can look forward to playing Deus Ex in the Premium tier this month, marking a major release before it had even been officially announced. Owning a PS5 is proving to be quite rewarding, particularly with our PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 predictions suggesting that we could see some real gems added to the subscription service. It's a bit tough that players have to pay for live services while PC gamers don't face the same issue, but at least the top tiers of the service offer great value to players. The PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 games reveal time is expected to maintain the high standard of releases we've seen since the announcement that the PS Plus Extra and Premium May 2025 games would be led by the somewhat lacklustre Sand Land. Gamers are eagerly anticipating a host of new games expected to be released soon, with many keen to find out what will be added to their game libraries in June – but when exactly can we expect this announcement? Here's everything you need to know about the reveal time for the PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 games. READ MORE: Mario Kart World review – Knockout Tour brings a fresh way to race even if the new world disappoints PS plus Extra and Premium June 2025 games reveal time The PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 games reveal time is scheduled for 8.30am PDT / 11.30am EDT / 4.30pm BST on Wednesday, June 11. This is because Extra and Premium games are always unveiled on the second Wednesday of every month, before being released the following Tuesday, which in this instance is Tuesday, June 17. If recent reveals are anything to go by, it's set to be an exciting month for the service. Amidst the flurry of game announcements we've seen recently, it'll be refreshing to actually play some games on the PS5 rather than merely daydreaming about them. After all, if they're being offered at no additional cost, we certainly won't be complaining.

BBC Antiques Roadshow guest speechless as £1 vase bought at boot sale makes staggering value
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Antiques Roadshow's Eric Knowles was left gobsmacked when a glass vase, purchased for a mere £1 at a car boot sale, was valued at an astonishing amount. A woman from Ayrshire, who wished to remain anonymous, brought the vase to the BBC show for evaluation, not anticipating the staggering valuation she would receive. The vase was identified as a 1929 piece by famed French designer René Lalique, after being scrutinised by experts at Dumfries House near Cumnock, and was valued at a minimum of £25,000. The five-inch-tall glass vase was crafted using an ancient technique known as cire perdue. This complex method involves creating a wax model that is encased in plaster, then melted away and replaced with molten glass, with the plaster mould being broken away once the glass cools to reveal the final creation. The market value for Lalique pieces has seen a significant increase in recent years. Antiques Roadshow expert Eric Knowles shared his excitement with the Irvine Herald: "It's wonderful to find treasures like this beautiful vase during the programme's filming," reports the Express. (Image: BBC) He continued: "It certainly gives us all a buzz and we thoroughly enjoy meeting people everywhere we go. I've been waiting over 25 years for such a piece to come in, and this was the stuff of dreams. They'd dumped it in the attic after the plant in it died and were about to throw it away. We had a lot of clouds in Dumfries, but this was the cloud with a silver lining. It's worth at least £25,000." The vase ultimately fetched a whopping £32,450 at auction, exceeding its previous valuation by £7,000. This follows a rerun of the beloved BBC programme, which aired on Sunday, June 8. Viewers were transported to Brodie Castle in Scotland, where a parade of treasures awaited appraisal. Among them was a man who wowed Richard with a 1960s Rolex GMT-Master, inherited from his uncle. Richard, peering intently at the watch, informed the owner: "All Rolex collectors refer to these things by their reference number," and "You know as well as I do, because it says so on the dial, that it's a GMT-Master." (Image: BBC) Richard explained: "It's the reference 1675, which is the classic GMT-Master. When you said 60s, I think we could fairly safely say 1960 to 1961, so that all fits in." Upon closer inspection, Richard was thrilled to find the watch unaltered, noting that many watches are often modified during servicing, much to collectors' dismay. He said: "They would've changed the bezel and they would've changed the dial with an upgrade," before adding:"You would've had it back thinking, 'Oh, it looks like new'. Collectors hate that, it's absolutely original, spot-on." The expert told the owner: "It's a Rolex product, of course, but it says 'Made in the USA'. So perhaps he specified that he did not want the oyster bracelet; he wanted a jubilee bracelet, and they put this one on for him. "Which sort of detracts from it a little bit, probably detracts from it by a couple of thousand pounds." However, Richard had some good news as well, revealing that the watch is worth "£12,000 to £15,000." You can catch Antiques Roadshow every Sunday at 8pm on BBC1.

Shooter game played by 10 million people closing down on smash-hit consoles in two weeks – but fans say it's GOOD news
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A POPULAR video game played by millions of people is shutting down on select consoles. The shooter title is now just weeks away from being killed off on certain machines – and fans say it's actually good news. The studio behind the game say it'll stop working on those machines on June 19, 2025. And the only way to keep playing will be to upgrade to a machine that still offers support for it. That includes the PS5, Xbox Series X or S, or Windows PCs. "Our team does experience difficulties maintaining the PS4 and Xbox One builds," the developers at Nexon explained. "So to concentrate all our resources and capabilities for the new content for Season 3 and beyond, we made this decision. "The planned termination date is June 19, and after the June 19 update, you won't be able to play The First Descendant with PS4 or Xbox One. "But your account information will stay with us since TFD is an online game and supports cross-progression with Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S." The First Descendant is currently less than a year old, which makes the closure all the more shocking. It's a free massively-multiplayer online game that sees empowered 'Descendants' battling alien baddies known as the Vulgus – and has boasted more than 10 million players. Get an inside look at the new PS5 30th anniversary edition Gamers will complete quests, collect loot, and build their characters to have different power specialties. After the closure, some players will be locked out from enjoying the title. But many fans reacted to the news with understanding, even describing it as a good thing. In a Reddit thread about the change, hundreds of fans upvoted the news and said it would allow the game-maker to spend more time making the title even better. 6 It's been less than a year since The First Descendant was released Credit: Nexon / The First Descendant One said: "That's fair. They probably want to do bigger stuff with the game." Another wrote: "Y'all gotta let the PS4 go and upgrade." And one added: "It's because the PS4 hardware limitations are limiting the scope of the game design. The dev team want to do more, so they're choosing to leave PS4 players behind. "Clearly they've weighed up the revenue they're getting from PS4 players and are happy to lose that portion. It bodes well for the future of the game to be honest." 6 Game-makers say they want to focus on developing the game for the latest consoles Credit: Nexon / The First Descendant 6 Fans reacted positively to the news – despite the imminent closure Credit: Nexon / The First Descendant GOING RUSTY It comes just days after another multiplayer game began closing down on older consoles. As of May 29, survival title Rust is no longer available to download for new players on PS4 and Xbox One. And the game will be switched off on those older machines in October this year. Players will need to upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series X/S versions of the title to keep playing. OTHER GAME CLOSURES COMING UP Here's what to watch out for...
