Did Pawan Kalyan really slash his fee for Hari Hara Veera Mallu? Here's what he said
Pawan Kalyan's highly anticipated period action-adventure, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, has finally released after a five-year journey marked by delays and disruptions. Kalyan addressed his remuneration, expressing a willingness to adjust it based on the film's success. He also emphasized his increased involvement in promotions due to a sense of responsibility towards the producers, given the challenges faced during production.
Pawan Kalyan breaks his silence on his fees for his latest movie Hari Hara Veera Mallu. Related After years of anticipation, delays, and shifting headlines, Pawan Kalyan is finally back on the big screen with Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which hit theatres on July 24, with paid premieres beginning the night before. Touted as an epic period action-adventure, the film's release marks not just the return of a Telugu superstar, but the culmination of a turbulent five-year journey that saw everything from pandemic disruptions to political roadblocks. One of the most talked-about topics during the recent press interaction was Kalyan's remuneration for Hari Hara Veera Mallu—a subject that has stirred speculation within industry circles. While reports suggest he charged between Rs 11 crore to Rs 20 crore for the film—a significant drop from the Rs 50 crore he reportedly earned for Bro—Kalyan himself responded with characteristic humility. While keeping the answer vague, he said he would consider his fees if the movie becomes a hit. He explained that his idea is that the movie should release first and do well, which would safeguard the producer. At the same event, Pawan Kalyan—known for his low-key approach to promotions—opened up about why he chose to participate in the lead-up to this release actively. He candidly referred to the various hurdles, like COVID-19 and other reasons, that delayed the movie. He further admitted that he now feels a moral responsibility to support the producers and hence, is part of the promotional campaigns this time, something he usually avoids. Directed initially by Krish Jagarlamudi and later by Jyothi Krishna, Hari Hara Veera Mallu is set in the 17th-century Mughal Empire and tells the story of the legendary outlaw Veera Mallu, played by Pawan Kalyan. Tasked with recovering the Koh-i-Noor diamond to rescue a city from Mughal oppression, Veera Mallu's tale unfolds against a rich historical backdrop. The film also stars Bobby Deol, Nidhhi Agerwal, Nargis Fakhri, Nora Fatehi, and Sathyaraj in key roles, with a stirring score composed by M. M. Keeravani. Initially announced in January 2020, the film's production kicked off later that year but faced numerous halts due to COVID-19 and Kalyan's political commitments. The shoot was finally wrapped up in May 2025, with the directorial reins being shared—Krish helming the early portions and Krishna taking over the latter segments under his supervision. Now, with the film finally out, it remains to be seen if this long-awaited epic lives up to its promise.

Ashwin Kumar's Mahavatar Narsimha mints Rs 15.85 Cr in opening weekend: collections soared by over 400 % from Day 1
Ashwin Kumar's mythological action drama, Mahavatar Narsimha, has exceeded expectations after a modest opening. The film, rooted in Indian mythology, witnessed significant growth over the weekend, particularly in the Hindi-speaking region. Strong word-of-mouth and appreciation for its spiritual themes are driving its success, potentially making it a surprise hit despite limited pre-release buzz. Ashwin Kumar 's mythological action drama Mahavatar Narsimha opened in cinemas with measured expectations, but the film has shown a notable upward trend through its opening weekend. Rooted in ancient Indian mythology and centered around the fierce avatar of Vishnu who emerges to destroy the tyrant Hiranyakashyap, the film has managed to strike a chord, particularly in the Hindi-speaking belt. Directed by Ashwin Kumar with reverence for the source material and supported by strong visuals, Mahavatar Narsimha delves into the eternal battle between good and evil, a story familiar to many but rarely attempted with such scale and cinematic vision in modern Indian cinema. The screenplay by Ashwin Kumar , Jayapurna Das and Rudra Pratap Ghosh brings to life the poignant journey of Prahlad's unwavering devotion and the divine wrath of Narsimha, offering both emotional and action-packed beats. The film had a modest start with a Day 1 (Friday) net collection of Rs 1.75 crore across all languages. Of this, the Hindi version contributed a significant Rs 1.3 crore, clearly establishing the northern belt as the film's strongest market. The Telugu version followed with Rs 35 lakhs, while Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam versions opened to limited numbers, together contributing just Rs 10 lakhs. However, the real turnaround began on Saturday, with the film showing an impressive 162.86% growth. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free P2,000 GCash eGift UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo It collected Rs 4.6 crore, with the Hindi version rising to Rs 3.25 crore and Telugu to Rs 1.15 crore. The Kannada version improved marginally to Rs 11 lakhs, and the Tamil and Malayalam versions also saw slight upticks. The upward trajectory continued into Sunday, with the film raking in an estimated Rs 9.5 crore, marking another 106.52% increase from Saturday. Hindi alone contributed Rs 6.75 crore, while the Telugu version brought in Rs 2.4 crore. The film's total three-day India net collection now stands at Rs 15.85 crore, a solid figure for a mythological film led by a relatively lesser-known film not only showed a massive 442.86 % jump from its day 1 collection but also survived the Saiyaara wave in Hindi belt which has now become the 25th biggest hit of Hindi cinema. Never before has a film with newcomers like Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda performed this well at the box office. The film has been directed by Mohit Suri . What's becoming increasingly clear is that Mahavatar Narsimha is riding on strong word-of-mouth, especially among family audiences and devotees appreciative of its spiritual and moral themes. Its performance is particularly promising given that the film had limited buzz pre-release and a relatively niche theme in a market dominated by commercial action this momentum continues into the weekdays, the film may become a surprise hit.
