Royal stamp of approval as two NI firms given prestigious King's Award
Portadown-based interior fitting contractor the Deluxe Group and Newtownabbey scanning machine manufacturer InspecVision have both announced they've won the King's Award for International Trade.
As winners, the two companies will be invited to a royal reception, where a Lord-Lieutenant, as a representative of the monarch, will present them with the award.
They are also entitled to fly the King's Award flag at their offices, and use the emblem of the awards on their marketing materials, including their website and packaging.
Both firms have been commended for their growth in international trade, with InspecVision reporting more than doubling it in three years, and the Deluxe Group seeing a more than six-fold increase in the same time period.

The company's products are sold in more than 30 countries around the world, and has won numerous awards, including a previous version of the Royal Award in 2021.
Dr Antonis said: 'It's a tremendous honour to be awarded the King's Award for Enterprise for International Trade.
'Overseas growth has been at the heart of our organisation since we began and this award recognises the dedication and resilience of our team and our worldwide distribution partners in delivering innovative solutions to manufacturers around the world.'

'This recognition is a testament to their innovation, expertise, and the high standards they uphold in advanced technology.
'The council are proud to have supported their application and are delighted to see their hard work and impact acknowledged at the highest level with this prestigious award.'

Tully's enjoys busy start after opening in Llandrindod
IT'S been a busy few weeks for renowned Powys chef Jamie Tully, who opened his own American-style diner and sports bar in Llandrindod Wells at the end of May. Tully's Sports Diner opened on the ground floor of the Hampton Hotel on Wednesday, May 21, with the talented 31-year-old chef determined to bring customers a 'one-of-a-kind experience'. Tully's is open Wednesday and Thursday nights, as well as throughout the day on Fridays and Saturdays, and Jamie says it's been a frenetic start to life at the venue. 'It has been a very busy two weeks,' said Jamie, from Builth Wells. 'We are open and we have got off to a great start with a full restaurant every day since we opened. 'We have for sure had some teething issues, which was to be expected, but everything is hopefully on the right track.' Tully's is based at the spa town's Hampton Hotel. The idea for an American-themed restaurant came from Jamie's extensive travels across the world, and his longing for a genuine US road-style diner, combining that with a sports bar. 'The biggest thing I missed from my travels and work in the US was a proper American bar and a place where you can watch all of the American and global sports events,' he said previously. 'Tully's will be a food-led, American-style sports bar, serving up great food and a place where you can watch all of your favourite sports, including all the US sports. Tully's moved a step closer to becoming a reality when Jamie had a conversation with Neil Sanders, owner of the Hampton Hotel, with the Temple Street diner now occupying the building that was formerly the home of the Worth Your Salt burger joint. 'Together, we wanted to create something different for the town,' added Jamie. 'I am extremely excited to bring something different and with my travels and experience I hope to create a special place in the town.' Tully's advertises itself as classic American-style dining – 'Think crispy wings, juicy burgers and perfectly crafted sandwiches,' it said in a post on its Facebook page. 'Step into a space filled with old-school American charm, from US car plates to vintage beer signs," it reads. Jamie set up his own private chef business, Tully's Unit 13, in Llandrindod about a year ago.

Aldi brings back ‘brilliant' garden middle-aisle bargain that's selling for just £10
Scroll down to find out how to save money on your next Aldi shop Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ALDI is bringing back a "brilliant" garden middle-aisle bargain for just £10 that's a major hit with shoppers. The Belavi Easter Island Head Planter will launch in stores on Sunday (June 8), adding to the retailer's selection of quirky buys. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 Aldi is bringing back its Easter Island Head Planter on June 8 Credit: Aldi 2 The planter makes for the perfect addition to your garden Credit: Aldi The planter, measuring 21x23x31cm, makes for the perfect addition to anyone's patio. Aldi shoppers will no doubt be buzzing to hear the Specialbuy is back on shelves in a matter of days too. The retailer was selling the planter last year, with shoppers heaping praise on it online. One said on Facebook: "Got two, they are brilliant." Another said: "One fell into my shopping basket." Meanwhile, a third commented: "Where can I buy him please. He's lovely." Of course, as the planter is a Specialbuy, that means once any stock is sold out, there won't be any more available. The planter won't be available to buy online either as Aldi doesn't offer a home delivery service. You can find your nearest Aldi branch by using the retailer's store locator tool, found via Remember as well, to always shop around when buying something like this to ensure you're getting the best possible price. ALDI BARGAIN BUYS You can compare prices on retailers' products through websites like Trolley, Price Spy and Price Runner. The Google Shopping/Product tab is a quick way to see how much a particular item is selling for across different shops online as well. On this occasion, it's hard to make a direct comparison as Aldi is the only retailer we found selling this particular planter. However, other, similar planters on the market come out more expensive than Aldi's £10 model. Matalan is selling one for £16 while Amazon has an Easter Island-themed planter for £29 - and that's before factoring in delivery charges. If you want to find out what Aldi Specialbuys are in stores at any time, you can visit: One Aldi is selling at the minute is a Ferrex 20V high pressure washer for £30 - and it's £100 cheaper than some big name brands. SAVE MONEY AT ALDI Keeping your eyes peeled for cheap Specialbuys is just one way to save money at Aldi. The supermarket often comes out cheapest for a smaller trolley of items in Which? surveys as well, including in April. The consumer website recently found a shopping list of 79 items would have cost you £135.95 on average across the month. Rival Lidl was close behind, with the same shop costing £136.64, if you had a Lidl Plus card. It's worth keeping an eye out for any red sticker products too, which are added to items going out of date or that are slightly damaged. Aldi tends to add them to items in the morning so it's best to get to your local branch early if you want to get the best discounts. Take advantage of Aldi's cheap alcohol which could save you some cash compared to going with branded versions. Look out for Too Good to Go "Surprise Bags" as well. They cost just £3.30 and come with £10 worth of food approaching its sell-by or use-by date inside. You have to reserve a bag via the Too Good to Go app and then can collect it from your nearest store. How to save money on your food shop Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save hundreds of pounds a year: Odd boxes - plenty of retailers offer slightly misshapen fruit and veg or surplus food at a discounted price. Lidl sells five kilos of fruit and veg for just £1.50 through its Waste Not scheme while Aldi shoppers can get Too Good to Go bags which contain £10 worth of all kinds of products for £3.30. Sainsbury's also sells £2 "Taste Me, Don't Waste Me" fruit and veg boxes to help shoppers reduced food waste and save cash. Food waste apps - food waste apps work by helping shops, cafes, restaurants and other businesses shift stock that is due to go out of date and passing it on to members of the public. Some of the most notable ones include Too Good to Go and Olio. Too Good to Go's app is free to sign up to and is used by millions of people across the UK, letting users buy food at a discount. Olio works similarly, except users can collect both food and other household items for free from neighbours and businesses. Yellow sticker bargains - yellow sticker bargains, sometimes orange and red in certain supermarkets, are a great way of getting food on the cheap. But what time to head out to get the best deals varies depending on the retailer. You can see the best times for each supermarket here. Super cheap bargains - sign up to bargain hunter Facebook groups like Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK where shoppers regularly post hauls they've found on the cheap, including food finds. "Downshift" - you will almost always save money going for a supermarket's own-brand economy lines rather than premium brands. The move to lower-tier ranges, also known as "downshifting" and hailed by consumer expert Martin Lewis, could save you hundreds of pounds a year on your food shop.
