Imran's sons await visa approval, says Aleema Khan
The sons of PTI founder Imran Khan, Sulaiman and Kasim, have applied for Pakistani visas at the High Commission in London and are currently awaiting approval from the Interior Ministry, said Aleema Khan, the former premier's sister, on Friday.
In a statement shared on X, Aleema revealed that Sulaiman and Kasim had submitted their visa applications a few days ago. She said the High Commission had confirmed receipt of the applications and conveyed that their approval was pending with the Ministry of Interior.

Contrary to statements made by Aleema, sources in the Ministry of Interior have denied that any visa application from the sons of the PTI founder is under consideration.
The sources told The Express Tribune that no such application is currently being processed at the Ministry of Interior. They clarified that the ministry does not issue family visas or any other types of visas, and that claims suggesting otherwise are inaccurate.
Furthermore, they stated that visa matters of this nature fall solely under the jurisdiction of the Pakistan High Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On Wednesday, Kasim Khan, in an interview with US media outlet Real America's Voice, said that his father was being held under 'inhumane' conditions in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi.
'Right now he's in really, really poor conditions and it looks like they're getting worse by the moment,' Kasim said, adding that his father was being kept in solitary confinement. 'He's showering in muddy water. Ten people have reportedly died in those filthy conditions,' he claimed.
The former prime minister has been incarcerated since August 2023. He is currently serving a sentence in the £190 million corruption case and also faces multiple cases, including those under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), stemming from the May 9, 2023 protests.

Police arrest former AJK premier Abdul Qayyum Niazi

Pakistan dispatches 100 tonnes of aid to Gaza under PM's directive

'Uraan Pakistan aims for $1tr economy by 2035,' says Ahsan Iqbal

In a step toward that ambition, an agreement was reached on Sunday between the Ministry of Planning and China's Development Research Center (DRC) to enhance economic cooperation. The understanding was formalized during a meeting between Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Lu Hao, President of China's Development Research Center (DRC) and Center for International Knowledge on Development (CIKD). Uraan Pakistan is a national initiative aimed at transforming Pakistan into one of the world's leading economies by prioritizing innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability. Guided by the 5Es Framework, it focuses on five critical areas: exports, digital transformation, environment and climate change, energy and infrastructure development, and equity and empowerment. The initiative seeks to diversify the economy and enhance Pakistan's global market position through export growth. Through joint research, training programs, and expert exchanges, China will assist Pakistan in strengthening its economic foundations. Speaking about the domestic economic outlook, Iqbal said the government's 'Uraan Pakistan' initiative is aimed at stabilizing and growing the national economy. 'Through the Uraan Pakistan program, the national economy is moving toward stability,' he said. 'The goal of 'Uraan Pakistan' is to make Pakistan a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2035,' the Minister added. He noted encouraging signs from the economic front. 'International institutions are confirming the positive indicators of the Pakistani economy,' he said. 'The policy rate has decreased from 23% to 11%,' he added. Referring to market performance, the Minister stated, 'The Pakistan Stock Exchange has surpassed 140,000 points.' Highlighting trade potential with China, Iqbal said, 'China imports approximately $2 trillion annually, whereas Pakistan's share in it is extremely small.' He stressed, 'Pakistan wants to promote trade and exports with China.' He further said, 'Gaining access to Chinese markets is an important economic objective.' Concluding, the Minister pointed out challenges faced in the past. 'In the past, political instability and disruptions in policy continuity affected the development process,' he said.
