There are 150 members in the squad and they will be ready to work in shifts 24X7. "There will be 12 workers in each shift and their service can be availed by dialling up the dedicated numbers or even through messaging. They have been provided with various equipment required for carrying out various emergency works," said chairman, standing committee for health, T K Asharaf.
"Being workers who are deployed on the frontline of emergencies, they require all sorts of protection.
So, we would be providing them with insurance cover. We are taking all measures in this regard," he said. "We are providing them with all the facilities like gloves, gumboots, pickaxes, raincoats, reflector jackets, helmets etc," he added.
It was on May 28 that the corporation launched the squad to mitigate the issues related to the rains. "So far, the squads are working in an effective manner. Even the high court applauded our efforts. The squads will be in the field until June 10. After that, they will be deployed for the sanitation works in each division. If rains aggravate and there is any emergency work, they will be pressed into action," Asharaf said.

Actor Sana Makbul Hospitalised Due To 'Grave Condition' Health Scare

Last Updated: Former Bigg Boss OTT 3 winner Sana Makbul has been hospitalised. She has been battling autoimmune liver disease since 2020. Former Bigg Boss OTT 3 winner Sana Makbul has been hospitalised, moments after posting photos from her Eid celebration with her family. Though the details of her ailment haven't been revealed yet, her friend Dr Aashna Kanchwala posted a photo of Sana from the hospital bed, praying for her speedy recovery. Sana Makbul looked frail in her photo from the hospital. Extending best wishes, Aashna wrote, 'My strongest Diva I'm so proud of you for showing so much strength and resilience as you battle such a grave condition. Inshallah, you will fight this and come out even stronger… Allah is with you. And I am always standing by you Get well soon my love @divasana." Here is the photo: Recently, Sana Makbul revealed that she has been quietly battling autoimmune issues for some time now, which may have triggered her sudden hospitalisation. While her condition remains serious, those close to her have lauded her unwavering strength and composed spirit in the face of adversity. The actor has yet to comment on this. Earlier this year, Sana opened up about her autoimmune liver disease that she has been battling since 2020. The condition is similar to myositis, which actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu suffers from. Speaking on Bharti Singh's podcast, Sana shared, 'I have turned vegan recently due to health reasons. A lot of people don't know that I am an autoimmune hepatitis patient. I have a liver disease, it was diagnosed in 2020. It has no specific symptoms. In this, my body cells are attacking the organ. So in my case, it's sometimes lupus; it hits your kidneys or causes arthritis. Samantha Ruth Prabhu has myositis, which is a muscle condition. I have it with the liver." Despite her confident demeanour on Bigg Boss OTT 3, Sana confessed that coping with her health condition is difficult. She explained, 'I take steroids, suppressants, or some medicines. It's a lifestyle disorder, but with the autoimmune condition, the liver condition is a tricky thing. My health keeps fluctuating, I don't know if this can be cured completely." During the discussion, Bharti Singh and her husband, Harsh, opened up about the dangers of misinformation on social media, especially concerning medical treatments. Bharti pointed out how the conflicting advice online can be overwhelming, to which Sana Makbul nodded in agreement, adding, 'Social media plays with your mind. I keep having my bad days."
