Natalya Gets Candid Regarding Naomi's WWE Absence

Yahooa day ago
Natalya comments on Naomi not being medically cleared to compete Monday night on WWE RAW.
On a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, RAW Superstar Natalya spoke on the situation where Naomi wasn't medically cleared to compete on RAW earlier this week and made it clear that when the Women's World Champion is ready to talk about it, she will.
'Especially for the locker room, it's one of those things that, well, somebody will know what's going on, but in this situation, like, Naomi is a really close friend of mine, but I just feel like it's a time right now where she needs space.
'So usually when something crazy is going on, I don't think it's crazy in a bad way, but I think that, like, obviously, it's private, it's personal. Nobody ever wants to go down with an injury,' Natalya said. 'Knowing how hard Naomi has fought to get this spot that she's in.
Natalya reflects on Naomi's Money in the Bank Cash-In
'She's at the top of the division. She has this groundbreaking moment at Money in the Bank. She wins it, and then she cashes in at the second-ever all-women's pay-per-view, she cashes in at Evolution, which is a great way to cash in. I mean, every girl was at Gorilla, hugging her and crying, and every guy was too. Everybody was just so happy for her, so excited for her.
'So it is crazy, because she is so excited. As far as I know, the last time we talked, she's like, 'I know what I have, and I'm so grateful for it. I can't believe all this is happening.' But, I feel like she's so, so beyond grateful for it. So whatever is going on right now, it's definitely like, there's a part of me that wants to be like, 'Hey, Trin, like, what's going on? Tell me, give me the scoop.'
'But the other part of me is like, sometimes when people are going through something, or they're dealing with, like I said, an injury or some extenuating situation, I feel like she will talk about it when she's ready to talk about it, but I know she would have loved to have wrestled IYO on Monday.' Splash pad in Davis that honors fallen police officer Natalie Corona opens

A splash pad is officially open, honoring fallen Davis police officer Natalie Corona six years after she was killed in the line of duty while responding to a crash in 2019. "She had a joyful spirit, that is the vibe and the energy that we see here today," said Deanne Machado, the parks director for the City of Davis. "So it is a perfect match to honor who she was and her spirit." The project was five years in the making. More than half a million dollars raised through community support brought the project to life. Local artists added personal touches in tilework as each piece was designed with the help of the people who knew Corona best. "There are so many easter egg moments in the tiles that represent stories that her friends, family, and the community know about," Machado said. Corona's best friend, Mariah Diaz, said when the water started flowing, memories flooded her mind. "It felt like that was me and her right there," Diaz said. "It was all meant to be. I truly feel her spirit here with us, she's looking down on us and has the biggest smile on her face." Her friends and colleagues at the Davis Police Department see the splash pad as a fitting tribute to the young officer who wanted to serve this community. "The closure of this project is sort of a symbolic closure of a really big chapter, too, but a joyful one," Machado said. The splash pad, located in Central Park in Davis, is free and will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily during the summer.

Greg Iles, Mississippi author of ‘Natchez Burning' trilogy, dies of cancer at 65

Greg Iles, the Mississippi author of the 'Natchez Burning' trilogy and other works, has died. He was 65. Iles died Friday after a decades-long battle with the blood cancer multiple myeloma, his literary agent Dan Conaway posted Saturday on Facebook. Initially diagnosed with the incurable condition in 1996, he kept his illness private until completing his final novel, 'Southern Man,' which was published in 2024. Iles was born in Germany but moved to Natchez, Mississippi, with his family when he was just three years old and developed a deep connection with the region. Many of his stories are set in Mississippi, including the 'Natchez Burning' trilogy, historical fiction suspense novels exploring race and class in the 1960s Jim Crow South. Conaway described Iles as 'warm, funny, fearless, and completely sui generis.' 'To be on the other end of the phone as he talked through character and plot, problem-solving on the fly, was to be witness to genius at work, plain and simple,' he wrote on Saturday. 'As a writer he fused story-craft, bone-deep humanity, and a growing sense of moral and political responsibility with the ferocious precisions of a whirling dervish or a master watchmaker.' In March 2011, Iles suffered a ruptured aorta and a partial leg amputation and spent eight days in a medically induced coma after another driver struck his car on Highway 61 near Natchez. He eventually recovered. Iles performed with the musical group The Rock Bottom Remainders along with popular authors Stephen King, Amy Tan and others.
