Saudi: Passports Directorate takes 8,155 punitive measures against violators
Administrative committees under passport departments in various regions of the Kingdom took the decisions to penalize the violators, including Saudi citizens and expatriates, and the penalties include imprisonment, fines, and deportation.
The Passports Directorate urged all citizens and residents, including business owners, not to transport, employ, or shelter violators of residency, labor, and border security regulations, or provide them with any means of assistance in finding employment, housing, or transportation.
It called on the public to extend cooperation through passing information about the violators by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, and 999 in the rest of the regions of the Kingdom. All reports will be treated with complete confidentiality, the directorate said.

A pro-Houthi cybercriminal who hacked thousands of websites from his home in the UK has been jailed for 20 months. Al Tahery Al Mashriky, 26, was arrested by the National Crime Agency after it was tipped off by US law enforcement investigating extremist hacker group the Yemen Cyber Army. NCA investigators were able to link Al Mashriky to the group through social media and email accounts. The Yemen Cyber Army emerged around 2015 with a series of attacks against Saudi Arabia targets and is aligned with Houthi rebels in Yemen. It is also suspected of being a front for Iran -backed hacking activities. Al Mashriky, from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, hacked into websites including the Yemen Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Yemen Ministry of Security Media and Israeli Live News, analysis of his laptop and several mobile phones revealed. After gaining access to the sites he created web pages containing his online monikers and messaging to promote his religious and political ideology. Using one of his many online aliases, Al Mashriky claimed on one cybercrime forum that he had hacked in to more than 3,000 websites during a three-month period in 2022, the NCA has revealed. He was in possession of personal data for more than four million Facebook users and several documents containing usernames and passwords for services such as Netflix and PayPal, which could be used for further acts of cybercrime. NCA deputy director Paul Foster, head of the agency's National Cyber Crime Unit, said: 'Al Mashriky's attacks crippled the websites targeted, causing significant disruption to their users and the organisations, just so that he could push the political and ideological views of the Yemen Cyber Army. 'He had also stolen personal data that could have enabled him to target and defraud millions of people. Al Mashriky was arrested in August 2022 and had been due to stand trial at Sheffield Crown Court in March this year for 10 offences under the Computer Misuse Act but pleaded guilty instead. He has now been jailed at the same court for 20 months. He was also found to have targeted faith websites in Canada and the USA as well as the website for the California State Water Board. Victims of his hacking gave detailed insights into the significant cost and inconvenience his activities had caused. 'Cybercrime can often appear faceless, with the belief that perpetrators hide in the shadows and can avoid detection,' said Mr Foster. 'However, as this investigation shows, the NCA has the technical capability to pursue and identify offenders like Al Mashriky and bring them to justice.' An account on X bearing the groups' name lists its activities, including hacking the University of Bristol earlier this year. The account also reposts the messages of 313 Team, an Iran-aligned hacking group which has taken credit for hacking US President Donald Trump's Truth Social platform, within hours of US strikes on several Iranian nuclear facilities.

Saudi: Over 43mln e-transactions carried out via Absher in July
RIYADH — The Ministry of Interior's electronic platform "Absher" carried out 43,439,206 electronic transactions for beneficiaries during the last month of July. The number of transactions undertaken through the Absher Individuals platform reached 40,650,713, including 33,387,591 document reviews through the digital wallet available to citizens, residents, and visitors. The number of transactions completed through the Absher Business platform reached 2,788,493. The number of transactions related to the General Directorate of Public Security services reached 3,679,429, including 3,586,290 transactions at the General Department of Traffic, 2,769,794 transactions at the General Directorate of Passports, and 664,096 transactions at the Ministry of Interior's Civil Status Agency. Through the public services on the Absher Individuals platform, 146,212 reports were issued in the Absher Reports service, 3,591 requests for document delivery by mail, and 2,287 general inquiries about fingerprints were made. It is noteworthy that the number of unified digital identities issued by the Ministry of Interior through the Absher platform has exceeded 28 million. Saudi authorities foil attempt to smuggle tonnes of illegal drugs
Saudi authorities have thwarted attempts to smuggle more than 350,000 amphetamine tablets, 1.5 million tablets subject to medical circulation regulations, 2.6 tonnes of hashish, and 144 tonnes of the narcotic qat, the Saudi Press Agency Spa said on Monday. Authorities conducted mass arrests in the regions of Tabuk, Jazan, Asir, and Najran, where hundreds of suspected smugglers were detained, the agency added. The suspects include 995 Ethiopians, 695 Yemenis, one Eritrean, one Somali, one Sudanese and 15 Saudi citizens. The drug bust comes as part of the Ministry of Interior's continuing efforts to monitor smuggling and trafficking activities that threaten the security of the kingdom and its youth, said Spa. Security officials urged citizens and residents to come forward if they have any information related to the trafficking or distribution of drugs. Last month, a joint Saudi-Lebanese operation thwarted an attempt to smuggle more than five million amphetamine pills. The operation highlights intensifying regional collaboration to confront the growing threat of amphetamine smuggling in the Gulf region. Saudi Arabia has stepped up efforts in recent years to intercept drugs at their source and enhance intelligence sharing with partners in a bid to dismantle smuggling networks.
