FGEHA housing scheme hits snag
According to the official spokesperson of FGEHA, the contractor attributed the project's stall to rising inflation and escalating construction costs. Launched in 2009 under a 'first-come, first-served' membership drive, Phase I of the project aimed to provide residential plots to federal employees.
Consent letters began issuing in April 2015, while computerised balloting held on February 26, 2021, allotted specific plot numbers to the successful applicants, he added.
Of a total of 3,282 plots, 3,268 have been allocated to government employees across five categories based on their service gradesfrom Category I (Grades 20-21) to Category V (Grades 1-10).
The project spans over 3,375 kanals of land and comprises five designated blocks: A, B, C, D, and E.
He added that the development work on this project began in December 2019 and progressed rapidly until the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, which significantly disrupted construction activities nationwide. By 2022, work on Green Enclave-I had come to a complete halt.

LHC put objection to PTI's plea for public rally
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court office on Friday put an objection to a petition of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) seeking permission to hold a public rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on August 5. The office objected that the petitioner had not approached the grievance redressal committee of the government before filing the petition. Petitioner a PTI MPA Imtiaz Mehmood Sheikh stated that an application was submitted to the deputy commissioner of Lahore for no-objection certificate (NOC) for the rally. Pending dues on land, properties reviewed
ISLAMABAD: The second meeting of the Sub-Committee of the Standing Committee on Housing and Works was held Wednesday at the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA). The meeting was chaired by Member of the National Assembly and Convener of the Sub-Committee, Anjum Aqeel Khan. The purpose of the meeting was to review pending outstanding dues related to land acquisition, payments for built up (BUP) properties and delays in various housing projects. During the meeting, land affectees from sectors, G-14/1, G-15/3, F-14, and F-15 presented their grievances, with particular emphasis on the issue of non-possession in Sector G-14/1. Taking notice of the complaints, the director general instructed that these matters be addressed on a priority basis. He directed the director (land) to engage with the allottees, listen to their concerns, and formulate a practical strategy to ensure early possession. Convener Anjum Aqeel Khan assured that the sub-committee will make every possible effort to resolve the issues of all affected individuals and will maintain close coordination with the relevant departments.
