A trial date has been set for the alleged driver of a car that ploughed into a crowd at Liverpool's Premier League victory parade.
Paul Doyle, 53, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday afternoon charged with seven offences following the incident on Water Street in the city centre on Monday which resulted in 79 people suffering injuries.
The father-of-three, of Croxteth, Liverpool, wore a black suit with white shirt and grey tie, and had a thinning quiff of hair.
He spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth during the hearing before he was remanded in custody ahead of a plea hearing on August 14.

Recorder of Liverpool Judge Andrew Menary fixed a provisional trial date for November 24 and said the case was expected to last three to four weeks.
Philip Astbury, prosecuting, told the court: 'This is very much an ongoing investigation. There are many witnesses to be interviewed and a great deal of CCTV to be analysed.'
Doyle was in the dock of the crown court less than an hour after he appeared for his first appearance in the magistrates' court, which is housed in lower floors of the same building.
Judge Menary said: 'Given the genuine and not surprising public interest in this case it occurred to me it would be appropriate for the matter, on being sent to this court, to be listed before me for further directions.'
Doyle looked emotional when he was first brought into Liverpool Magistrates' Court from the cells and looked around at the dozens of reporters packing the courtroom, his face crumpling slightly as he held back tears.
At one point, Doyle shook his head as Mr Astbury was speaking.
He is accused of two counts of wounding with intent, two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, two counts of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and one count of dangerous driving.
The charges relate to six victims, including two children aged 11 and 17.
Reporting restrictions preventing the victims from being identified were made by the judge.

According to the dangerous driving charge, Doyle drove a Ford Galaxy Titanium dangerously on roads between his home address in Burghill Road and Water Street.
Doyle made no indications of pleas after the charges were read to the court.
He stood with his hands clasped and nodded as he was remanded in custody.
On Thursday, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said the charges against Doyle, who is reportedly an ex-Royal Marine, would be kept 'under review as the investigation progresses'.
Chief crown prosecutor for CPS Mersey-Cheshire Sarah Hammond said: 'The investigation is at an early stage. Prosecutors and police are continuing to work at pace to review a huge volume of evidence.
'This includes multiple pieces of video footage and numerous witness statements.
'It is important to ensure every victim gets the justice they deserve.'
The ages of those injured ranges from nine to 78 and seven people remained in hospital on Thursday, police said.
Police previously said they believed the car that struck pedestrians was able to follow an ambulance crew attending to someone suffering a heart attack after a road block during Liverpool FC's celebrations was temporarily lifted.

"They were only concerned with making large amounts of money' Former Premier League star and FA Cup winner Ronnie Stam has been sentenced to seven years in prison after being found guilty of drug smuggling. The former Wigan Athletic defender, who won the FA Cup with the Latics in 2013, had plotted to import 700kg worth of cocaine from Chile. Stam, who won the Dutch title with FC Twente with ex-England boss Steve McLaren as manager, had played a 'determining and coordinating role,' a court ruled. He remained in contact with the shipment owner in Dubai with the drugs set to arrive in Rotterdam before being intercepted in Chile. Stam, who was also aided by his brother, must both pay a €30,000 fine and have around €1.7million in criminal proceeds confiscated, according to De Telegraaf. Ronnie Stam News in 90 Seconds - August 13th A judge said: "They were only concerned with making large amounts of money' after Stam and other family members were arrested on June 10 of last year. The prosecution asked for the judge to give Stam a 13-year sentence but he was found not guilty of two of the more serious charges. The former Dutch title-winner was instead convicted of smuggling 724kg of cocaine into the Netherlands in addition to MDMA and possession of laughing gas (nitrous oxide). Stam admitted to being involved in a plot to smuggle 20kg of cocaine to Frankfurt from Brazil. Stam insisted that was the extent of his involvement in the plot and confessed to regretting becoming involved with criminals. The former footballer retired from playing back in 2016 before turning to crime. He will have to repay £1.7m in illegally gained profits as part of his punishment in addition to the seven year prison sentence. Stam was formerly part of the Feyenoord academy before returning to boyhood club NAC Breda in 2002. He later joined FC Twente and won the 2009/10 Eredivisie title. He went on to play for Standard Liège and NAC Breda before retiring in 2016 due to injuries. Capped once by the Netherlands, Stam made 358 senior appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing 26 assists.

Eight-week ban for ex-Premier League referee over Jurgen Klopp comments

FORMER PREMIER LEAGUE referee David Coote has been given an eight-week suspension and told to attend an education programme over abusive words he used about ex-Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp. Coote was charged by the Football Association in June after the comments about Klopp came to light in a video circulated on social media last November. The FA said he had subsequently admitted the charge. Coote's misconduct was defined as an aggravated breach under the FA's rules because there was a reference to Klopp's nationality. Coote was sacked by Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) last December, a month after the video filmed in July 2020 came to light. Advertisement PGMOL said in confirming Coote's dismissal last December that his position had become 'untenable'. In it, Coote is heard saying it had been 's***' to be fourth official at a Liverpool match in the summer of 2020, describing Klopp as a 'German c***'. He also said Klopp was 'f****** arrogant'. When the FA charged him over the Klopp comments in June, the governing body said Coote would face no further action in regard to separate allegations of gambling misconduct, which he had strenuously denied. The FA said those allegations had been fully investigated. Coote was banned by European football's governing body UEFA in February until June 30, 2026 after a different video emerged of him snorting a white powder through a bank note while in Germany for last summer's Euros. In January, Coote came out as gay in an interview with The Sun and said that a lifelong struggle to hide his sexuality had contributed to the rant about Klopp, and to his drug use. 'My sexuality isn't the only reason that led me to be in that position. But I'm not telling an authentic story if I don't say that I'm gay and that I've had real struggles with hiding that,' he said. 'I hid my emotions as a young ref and I hid my sexuality as well — a good quality as a referee but a terrible quality as a human being. And that's led me to a whole course of behaviours.' Coote's formal response to the FA charge was detailed in the regulatory commission's written reasons which were published alongside the confirmation of the sanctions imposed. He accepted his words about Klopp were 'crass, inappropriate and unworthy of the role that he held within the game' and asked the commission to accept that his decision not to attend the hearing was not made out of avoidance, but due to his mental state. Coote said the words did not respect his true view of Klopp, for whom he had always had a deep professional respect. The panel wrote: 'DC (Coote) stated that he felt an immense sense of shame. He had lost a career that formed the very core of his identity. He had lost all his income and the media attention had deepened his sense of humiliation and despair. 'He was trying to piece his life back together, from a place of near total collapse.'
