Former Premier League star and boyfriend of Diego Maradona's daughter accused of assaulting his own SON, 18, by his ex-wife
A Premier League star has been accused of biting his 18-year-old son's ear in a beating which left his alleged victim fleeing the house in tears before dawn.
Dani Osvaldo is accused of pinning his son, Gianluca, against the wall and pounding him repeatedly by his former wife and the teenager's mother, Ana 'Nina' Oertlinger.
The shocking allegations, made by Oertlinger on Argentinian television, come amid her legal battle with Osvaldo over alleged unpaid child support which has left her fearing potential homelessness.
Osvaldo, 39, is a former Southampton striker who recently rekindled his romance with Gianinna Maradona, the grieving daughter of Argentina legend Diego.
The ex-Italy star has reportedly chosen not to comment on the alleged assault or money owed in child support to Oertlinger, as per Portuguese outlet Caras.
'He was physically violent toward my son,' Oerlinger told Argentine show A La Tarde. 'He physically assaulted my son in the early morning of January 13.
'At one point, he put him against the wall and hit him on the head, ribs, and arm, all on the left side.
'Daniel got on top of him on the couch and kept hitting him with his fists and bit his ear,' she said on the show, via Paparazzi.
'The situation calmed down, they continued arguing, and my son started to cry.
'The relationship was always unstable because the father was always someone who disappeared for months on end.
'The anger came because he (Gianluca) has a (friendly) relationship with Jimena (Baron, Argentinian actress and Osvaldo's former partner) and my son doesn't want to end the relationship. And while he was hitting him, he insulted Jimena and me.
'Gianluca escaped, he was able to do so and left the house. He returned at dawn, on a Monday at 4:40 a.m., alone in a state of shock.
'My son loves him, but he's in pain, he felt disappointed, and today he doesn't have a relationship because as soon as this happened, he blocked him.'
Panellists on the A La Tarde show claimed that Osvaldo has a 'significant debt' which means he has not paid child support, including health insurance, to Oertlinger.
Oertlinger allegedly fears that she could end up homeless due to not having the money to pay rent, while Osvaldo is refusing to act as a guarantor. Gianluca, the son, has put a restraining order on him, Oertlinger said.
'Daniel Osvaldo, do you know what he has today in Argentina? Zero, he filed for bankruptcy. But he has a hidden fortune of more than 40 million dollars, and Ana Oertlinger is going after that fortune, to collect what he owes her,' said panellist Diego Estevez.
Cora Debarbieri added: 'She (Oertlinger) is going through a very particular situation, because today is a crucial day for her, as she has to renew her rental contract; otherwise, she would unfortunately be out on the street.'
Recently, Osvaldo posted a romantic restaurant picture across the table from Gianinna Maradona, daughter of Diego. 'I love you,' he wrote.
It has been a turbulent time for her amid the trial of even of Maradona's medical team for 'cuplable homicide' after the 1986 World Cup winner died following a heart attack aged 60 in 2020. They deny the charges.
Evidence heard in court suggested that Maradona's worsening condition - including a deformed heart which swelled to double that of a regular size - would have been visible to attentive medical professionals days before his death.
Osvaldo has often been seen as an uncontainable figure.
Roma suspended him in 2011 for punching team-mate Erik Lamela, while Southampton got rid of him after he headbutted Jose Fonte in training.
Boca Juniors also terminated his contract for smoking in the dressing room, while he later quit a second term there as he said he preferred 'asado [Argentine barbecue] and beer to money'.
Lore has it that he once turned down a move to Sevilla to ensure he could attend a festival, and he retired aged 30 to become a rockstar.
In an interview, the towering forward described the move as 'liberating' and revealed his unhappiness playing football as he turned attentiont to his band, Barrio Viejo.
But in another twist, earlier this month, he made his return to football after nine years to play for amateur Argentine club Huracan, where he began his career in 2005.

Four former Monte Paschi executives to stand trial in bad loans case
MILAN, June 6 (Reuters) - An Italian judge has ordered four former executives of bank Monte dei Paschi di Siena ( opens new tab to stand trial for alleged false accounting in 2015 and the first half of 2016 over the classification of impaired loans, judicial and legal sources said on Friday. Former presidents Alessandro Profumo and Massimo Tononi, former CEO Fabrizio Viola, and ex-accounting manager Arturo Betunio are set to face charges of false accounting and market manipulation at a Milan court on Oct. 16. Lawyers for the four did not immediately respond to requests for comment, but all have consistently denied wrongdoing. The case marks the latest development in a series of legal proceedings linked to the troubled Tuscan lender's 2017 rescue. Milan prosecutors have alleged that false accounting from 2014 to 2017 was used to obscure the bank's insolvency, which would have blocked its state bailout, according to judicial documents. Milan judge Fiammetta Modica on Friday cleared five other MPS executives, including former presidents Alessandro Falciai and Stefania Bariatti, and former CEO Marco Morelli, of all charges related to the other years under investigations. Prosecutors had previously requested no proceedings for these periods. The alleged offence relates to the misclassification of loans as "performing" rather than "impaired". Italy pumped 5.4 billion euros ($6.15 billion) into MPS in 2017 under a so-called precautionary recapitalisation. Under European Union rules, this applies only to viable companies, so that public money is not used to cover any actual or expected losses. The European Central Bank conducted a health check on MPS at the time to unlock state aid in compliance with EU competition rules. Italy's Treasury negotiated the bailout terms with the European Commission and eventually committed to reducing its stake in the bank, which after the bailout stood at 68%. Under CEO Luigi Lovaglio, the bank has restructured, benefiting from higher interest rates and lower costs. Lovaglio raised 2.5 billion euros in late 2022 to fund redundancies. In October 2023 Italy's Supreme Court confirmed an appeals court's ruling that overturned a previous verdict and acquitted all defendants of charges related to derivatives deals that prosecutors alleged had helped MPS hide losses. In December 2023, MPS's former CEO and chairman were also acquitted on appeal, after serving six years in prison in a related case. The verdict was upheld by Italy's Supreme Court in February 2025. Inside Schumacher's inner circle as F1 boss reveals who ‘regularly' sees tragic star… & his shock at pal who WON'T visit
When Schumacher's head hit a boulder in the skiing accident 12 years ago, it split his helmet in two SCHUEY'S CIRCLE Inside Schumacher's inner circle as F1 boss reveals who 'regularly' sees tragic star… & his shock at pal who WON'T visit AN F1 boss has revealed insider information on Michael Schumacher's inner circle - like who "regularly" visits him and his shock at one pal who won't. Schumacher hasn't been in the public eye since a devastating skiing accident 12 years ago and is cared for by medical staff and his wife Corinna at their home in Lake Geneva. Now ex-Red Bull chief Richard Hopkins has spoken out about the star - and revealed who regularly him. He told "Jean Todt, that's well known. Jean and Michael had an extraordinarily close relationship. "I believe Luca Badoer, who is a close family friend, visits him. Advertisement "If there is a third, I don't know who that would be." But Hopkins also spoke of a pal who won't visit Schumacher - Flavio Briatore. He added: "Flavio is, as we know, a flamboyant character. I would have thought he would have probably been the first person who would have wanted to see Michael in whatever way that was. But you have to respect that decision. "That's down to the individual. Not necessarily shared by all. I know there are close friends that go and see Schumacher and that's their own choice and for their own reasons. Advertisement "But Flavio has obviously got his and it's very deep and personal how we remember people, and how we want to remember people. "I think we all have to respect that one." Michael Schumacher's Monaco Grand Prix-Winning Ferrari F2001 In 2020 Briatore's former wife Elisabetta Gregoraci claimed that: 'Michael doesn't speak, he communicates with his eyes.' Addressing this rumour, Hopkins said: "I'm not in that circle to know the absolute facts about Schumacher. Not many people are. Does he communicate through his eyes? Quite possibly. Advertisement "There is rumour he does watch Grand Prixs. But this is just speculation and perhaps unfair for anyone to make assumptions and guesses. "Any remark I make will be unqualified as well in that sense, so it's difficult to be drawn on it." In April, Schumacher signed a charity helmet belonging to fellow F1 icon Sir Jackie Stewart with help from Corinna. The helmet will be auctioned to raise money for Stewart's charity Race Against Dementia. Advertisement But Hopkins has described the signing as potentially being a "one-off". He said: "I suspect that [Jackie Stewart helmet signature] gesture was a one-off. There was a lot of media around that and maybe for the family too much media. 7 Michael Schumacher and Flavio Briatore Credit: Getty - Contributor 7 Alpine F1 Team Executive Advisor Flavio Briatore looks on in the paddock during qualifying Credit: Getty Advertisement 7 Race winner Michael Schumacher celebrates on the podium in 1994 Credit: Alamy "They try to keep everything quiet and private, so I'd hazard a guess that it was a one-off. "It was a great gesture from the family to organise that." Yilmaz Tozturkan, 53, and his son Daniel Lins, 30, had threatened to publish videos and pictures of Schumacher unless they were given £12million. Advertisement Security guard Markus Fritsche had copied the private material while working for the Schumachers and sold it to the two men. In February the trio were found guilty of their part in the blackmail plot. Fritsche was given a two-year suspended sentence, while Tozturkan was jailed for three years and Lins was given a six-month suspended prison sentence by a German court. Schumacher's wife Corinna wanted a harsher sentence for Fritsche. Advertisement She said: 'What still shocks me most is the massive breach of trust. 'He should receive a punishment for this that deters others from potentially doing the same.' When Schumacher's head hit a boulder in the skiing accident 12 years ago, it split his helmet in two. The brain injury was so serious that he spent 250 days in a coma. Advertisement The best medical treatment that money could buy brought the sporting great, who is worth £468million, back to consciousness. There had been rumours that further treatment in Paris had allowed Schumacher to take some small steps, but that was later dismissed.
