Case of an adulterous wife forbidden to see her girls

Arab Times4 days ago

KUWAIT CITY, May 29: The Misdemeanor Court acquitted a Kuwaiti citizen of preventing his exwife, who was convicted of adultery, from seeing her minor daughters and the court declared her guilty of endangering their lives, causing them psychological harm and neglecting them. Attorney Zaid Al-Khabbaz, who appeared with the citizen in court, requested his client's acquittal.
His client denied the accusation, clarifying that his client prevented the complainant from seeing his children because she was accused of adultery, which she had admitted. He also stated that he feared for his daughters' safety due to the behavior of the complainant. The court confirmed in its reasoning that the citizen did not prevent his daughters from seeing their mother due to his own whims, but rather out of fear that they would follow their mother's shameful and ugly behavior.
The court stated that the Child Protection Office report included numerous expressions from which the court inferred the girls' hatred and loathing for their mother who was setting a bad example for her daughters. The court feared that if the accused was punished, the complainant would be able to see the girls; something that should not happen in light of her shameful and ugly behavior, from which the girls should be kept safe.

Kuwait To Deport Six Expats For Illegally Entering Closed Restaurant

KUWAIT CITY, June 1: Six expatriates have been referred to the Deportation Center after being caught inside a restaurant in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh that had been officially closed by the Kuwait Fire Force. Officers from the Residency Affairs Investigations Department arrested individuals following a report that the restaurant had been illegally reopened. According to the source, the individuals claimed they entered through a rear door, which did not display a violation closure sticker, to retrieve food and prevent spoilage. However, authorities emphasized that entering any premises under administrative closure, regardless of the access point, is a legal violation. A spokesperson from the Fire Force confirmed that any attempt to bypass a sealed restaurant for violating rules, including entering through alternate doors, is strictly prohibited. Expatriates found guilty of such violations face immediate deportation, while Kuwaiti citizens involved are referred to the judiciary for prosecution.

Electrical Station Hit as Cables Worth 4,300 KD Stolen

KUWAIT CITY, June 1: The Deputy Public Prosecutor has ordered the dispatch of forensic experts to examine the scene of a theft at an electrical station in Mutlaa and instructed the Criminal Investigation Department to identify and apprehend the culprits. The case has been registered as a felony at the Mutlaa Police Station. According to a security source, the incident came to light when a 39-year-old Kuwaiti citizen, employed as a legal researcher at the Ministry of Electricity and Water, reported the theft to police. The citizen arrived at the station with an official mandate from the ministry after technicians were sent to investigate an electrical fault. Their inspection revealed that unknown individuals had stolen high-voltage cables by cutting them from Station No. 200 in Block 4 of the Mutlaa N2 area. The station houses four electrical transformers, each containing seven cables, for a total of 28 cables. Each cable measures 7 meters in length and 630mm in size, with an individual value of KD 154, bringing the total estimated loss to KD 4,300.

Kuwait Extradites Fugitive Musaed Al-Musaileem After 10 Years Abroad

KUWAIT CITY, May 31: After a decade on the run, fugitive Musaed Al-Musaileem was extradited to Kuwait on Friday evening, following his arrest by Malaysian authorities based on an international warrant issued through Interpol. He arrived in Kuwait aboard a Kuwait Airways flight via Doha, where the plane made a brief transit stop. Kuwaiti security forces took custody of Al-Musaileem upon his arrival at Kuwait International Airport, completing all detention procedures. Authorities have since begun formal investigations in preparation for his trial. First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef issued a stern warning to those living abroad who engage in activities aimed at harming Kuwait. He cautioned that such individuals will inevitably return, but with disgrace, unable to stand with dignity among their fellow citizens. Sheikh Al-Yousef said, 'Those who left Kuwait and believed that distance gave them the license to attack, fabricate, and harm must now reflect on their actions. They should consider the fate of those who came before them. There is no escaping justice.' He continued, 'There is a stark difference between someone who returns to their homeland with honor, with knowledge, a degree, or a prestigious award and one who returns in shame, having betrayed their country and attacked its people and leaders.' The minister also highlighted Kuwait's continued support and generosity toward its citizens and expats, expressing dismay at those who choose to overlook or disparage these efforts. 'Justice stands above all, and the arm of the law is long. Anyone who thought Kuwait was an easy target will discover, sooner or later, that Kuwait does not forget those who harm it,' he said. Reiterating his message, Sheikh Al-Yousef concluded with a warning to those who have strayed: 'You will return... but do not return with a black face.' Al-Musaileem, who fled Kuwait in 2015, has been sentenced to over 30 years in prison across six separate cases. Notably, his name had been included in the 2023 amnesty list — an opportunity he declined, choosing instead to remain in exile.
