UK Support For All-Party Delegation Derails ISI's Disruption Attempt
Last Updated:
During the event, groups of ISI-backed Khalistani protesters attempted to stage a demonstration at the Indian High Commission in London.
An all-party delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, which arrived in London on Saturday to reiterate India's zero-tolerance stance on terrorism, received massive support from the members of the Indian diaspora.
CNN-News18 learnt that over 1500 members of the diaspora rallied in support of the Indian delegation's mission to expose Pakistan-sponsored terror activities, in the backdrop of the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people.
The delegation, comprising political and diplomatic representatives, is visiting the UK to hold key meetings with local authorities and global stakeholders.
Their focus is to highlight the atrocities committed by Pakistan-backed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, particularly its involvement in the Pahalgam attack and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks — one of the deadliest terror strikes in India's history that also claimed the lives of several foreign nationals.
According to top intelligence sources, the delegation aims to present credible evidence and context on Lashkar's operations, its Pakistan-based support network, and its continued threat to regional and global peace.
'The number of Indian people who reached the High Commission is really amazing. Usually on a Sunday, people don't come out of their homes, given the next working day. Around 1500 people have come, and the numbers are increasing every minute," Kuldeep Shekhawat, President of the Europe Chapter of Overseas Friends of India, told CNN-News18.
ISI-Backed Disruption
During the event, groups of ISI-backed Khalistani protesters attempted to stage a demonstration at the Indian High Commission in London.
Denied permission at the premises, the protesters shifted to Trafalgar Square, waving Khalistani flags and banners.
Top intelligence officials termed this move 'a desperate attempt by Pakistan's ISI" to deflect attention from its support to terror outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.
'This is a clear attempt by Pakistan to change the narrative. With international pressure mounting over its links to terror, the ISI is using proxy elements to disrupt diplomatic efforts and mislead public perception," said a senior intelligence source to CNN-News18.
Despite these efforts, the Indian delegation's outreach has drawn strong support from the global Indian community, reflecting unified condemnation of terrorism and growing awareness about state-sponsored extremist networks operating from Pakistan.
The all-party delegation, led by Prasad, also comprises MPs Daggubati Purandeswari, Priyanka Chaturvedi, Ghulam Ali Khatana, Amar Singh, Samik Bhattacharya, M Thambidurai and former Union minister of state MJ Akbar and Ambassador Pankaj Saran.

Right to privacy not absolute, state has to prevent social harm: Madras HC
The Madras high court on Tuesday said the fundamental right to privacy is not absolute and that the state has to prevent social harm, as it dismissed petitions challenging the Tamil Nadu Online Gaming Authority (Real Money Games) Regulations, 2025. Online gaming companies challenged the regulations, mandating a 'blank hour' midnight to 5am ban on gaming and an Aadhaar-based user verification system. A bench of justices SM Subramaniam and K Rajasekar said the regulations amounted to 'reasonable restrictions' that govern all fundamental rights. It added that a user's fundamental right to privacy cannot be considered absolute and needs to be balanced with public interest. 'When put on a scale, public interest overweighs the right to privacy,' the bench said as it read out the operative part of the judgment. The ruling reinforces the state's authority to regulate online gaming, particularly real money games, to prevent social harm and protect vulnerable users. It could set a precedent for other states grappling with the potential for addiction and negative social consequences associated with online gaming. The ruling potentially empowers states to implement similar regulatory measures to safeguard health and well-being, even if it means limitations on the operational freedom of online gaming companies and users. The court reserved its order on April 30, saying the state government can 'step in' if online real-money games were addictive and caused social harm, provided the regulations balanced the fundamental rights of users and gaming companies. Senior counsel Mukul Rohatgi and Sajjan Poovayya, representing gaming companies that offer online real-money games, opposed the regulations. They argued that the Union government already regulated such games. The lawyers said the Tamil Nadu government was trying to indirectly prohibit online gaming under the guise of protecting users from addiction. Online gaming platforms, including Play Games 24x7, Head Digital Works, and Junglee Games India, particularly opposed provisions prohibiting users under 18 from playing real-money games, 'know your customer' registration with Aadhaar for opening gaming accounts, and ban on playing during 'blank hours'. The gaming platforms challenged the rule mandating compulsory pop-up caution alerts, including those cautioning that online games are 'addictive.' The state government defended the regulations, citing alarming levels of addiction to online gaming. It said that users often included minors and that addiction was ruining their health.

AVIC Chengdu to Beijing Navigation Control - Chinese defence stocks volatile amid fading India-Pakistan tensions
Chinese defence stocks witnessed heightened activity on Tuesday, tracking gains in the broader China stock market. Shares of AVIC Chengdu Aircraft, the manufacturer of the J-10 fighter jets, were particularly in focus amid the recent military conflict between India and Pakistan. The Hang Seng China A Aerospace & Defence Index surged 13% over just six trading sessions — from April 13 to May 12 — coinciding with the onset of the India-Pakistan conflict in early May. The rally was driven by expectations of increased Chinese arms exports to Pakistan as tensions escalated. However, the rally lost steam following the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between the two nations, which helped ease fears of a prolonged conflict. Subsequently, the index declined nearly 8% over the next 12 sessions until May 28. In a sign of renewed buying interest, the index of the Chinese defence stocks has since gained over 4% in the last three trading sessions. Hang Seng China A Aerospace & Defence Index is still down 5% from May 12 high. Several constituent stocks of the index, including Tellhow Sci-Tech, Beijing Navigation Control, Jiangsu Maixinlin Aviation Science and Technology, Tianqin Equipment, and Beijing Hengyu Datacom Aviation Equipment Co, have declined between 5% and 10% over the past month. AVIC Chengdu Aircraft, the manufacturer of the J-10 fighter jets used by Pakistan, remained in the spotlight during the peak of the India-Pakistan conflict. However, the bullish momentum in the stock has since faded. AVIC Chengdu share price has plummeted over 20% from their May peak, falling from a high of 95.86 yuan on May 12 to a low of 76.70 yuan in just 15 sessions. The decline in AVIC Chengdu Aircraft share price was exacerbated after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi publicly questioned Pakistan's claims that Chinese-made fighter jets were responsible for the destruction of the Indian Air Force's Adampur airbase. Investor sentiment on Chinese Defence stocks also turned cautious following the successful completion of India's Operation Sindoor, which showcased India's military capabilities. Additionally, the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan has reduced the urgency and potential for immediate defence procurement, further dampening interest in Chinese defence counters.
