'Won't Keep A Single Penny...': Co-Actor Inaam To Donate Earnings From Radhika Yadav's Music Video

Last Updated: Inaam Ul Haq pledged to donate all earnings from his song "Karwaan" to charity after critics accused him of exploiting Radhika Yadav's murder for fame. Radhika Yadav Murder Case: Independent artist Inaam Ul Haq, who made the headlines for featuring state-level tennis player Radhika Yadav, who was killed allegedly by her own father in Gurugram, has issued a statement about the backlash he has been receiving after her death. In a post on Instagram, the artist slammed the critics who accused him of gaining fame and views on his song video after Radhika's death. The video went viral after Radhika Yadav's murder. He said that whatever money this song brings to him, now or later, he won't keep a single penny and all of it would go to charity. 'A lot of people say I'm gaining fame because of what happened to Radhika. That my song Karwaan is trending, and I'll earn from it. So let me say this clearly — Whatever I receive from Karwaan — whether monthly royalties from @iprsmusic or revenue from @songdewnetwork I won't keep a single rupee," he said. He further said that as long as this song is played in the world, every payment, every month, for the rest of his life, will go towards helping the poor feeding the hungry, supporting the helpless, and doing something meaningful. 'If even one sincere prayer comes from someone I've helped, and it brings peace to her soul, that's more than enough for me. This isn't about numbers. Not about fame. Just a small gesture in someone's memory," he added. He further reiterated that he never wanted attention and has always worked with honesty and respect. He also urged the people not to disturb him, saying that he has no connection with Radhika other than participating in the music video last year. 'Rest in peace, Radhika. You'll always be remembered," he added. Earlier while speaking to CNN-News18, Inaam said that the 25-year-old tennis player told him that her father liked the Karwaan video she appeared in, disputing the theory and the insinuation that she was killed over the music video. He further said that she had deactivated her Instagram account after the song was released. When he asked her the reason for deactivating the social media account, she had replied that she was busy with her work and had deactivated the account for some time. Inaam further revealed that he had travelled to Delhi just to shoot the video with her, which was shot in her mother's presence. 'It was a four-five-hour shoot with her in Delhi. During the shoot, I came to know that she was interested in acting. She only took the conveyance amount," Inaam said to CNN-News18. Amid the probe of the chilling incident that sent chills down the spine, the music video featuring the tennis player with the independent music artist had surfaced. The music video, titled 'Karwaan" by artist Inaam, was released a year ago. Produced by Zeeshan Ahmad, the video was released under the LLF Records label. The music video featured Radhika alongside Inaam in several romantic scenes. Radhika Yadav, the 25-year-old tennis player, was shot dead allegedly by her own father, Deepak Yadav (49), at the family's double-storey home in the upscale Sushant Lok area of Gurugram on Thursday. Deepak later confessed to killing his daughter and was arrested. While Gurugram police said the primary trigger was a long-standing dispute between Radhika, 25, and her father over the tennis academy she was running, her appearance in a music video and growing social media activity added to the tensions at home. The police said that they were investigating all possible angles in Radhika's murder, including what her mother was doing when the incident occurred. According to an FIR registered based on the complaint of the deceased's uncle, Kuldeep Yadav, Radhika's mother was present on the first floor of the house when the shooting took place. top videos View all Radhika was a well-known name in the state-level tennis circuit, known especially for her performance in doubles. Pahalgam Probe: Terrorists Fired In Air While Fleeing; ISI Likely Used New Module For Secrecy

Last Updated: A new witness has reportedly told NIA that he was asked to recite the Kalma and was possibly spared because his accent confirmed he was a local. The NIA investigation into the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack is gaining momentum. Following the custodial interrogation of two harbourers, Parvaiz Ahmed and Bashir Ahmad, the NIA has now identified a local witness who saw the terrorists while they were escaping. 'The terrorists fired in the air, possibly to deter anyone from helping. This is when the witness encountered them," a senior security official told CNN-News18. According to officials, the NIA has recovered empty cartridges from the location where the firing took place, supporting the witness's account. The witness stated that he was asked to recite the Kalma and was possibly spared because his accent confirmed he was a local. Many survivors have reported that the terrorists used Kalma recitation for religious profiling before killing 26 people in Baisaran. Officials have corroborated the testimonies of the witness and the harbourers, successfully identifying the terrorists. One of the three has been identified as Hashim Musa, a former Pakistani army regular. Musa is suspected of masterminding the Sonmarg Z Modh tunnel attack, which resulted in the deaths of six labourers and a doctor. 'The other two have no previous records and appear to have infiltrated recently for the Pahalgam attack," an intelligence agency official stated. Agencies have also found no prior records for the harbourers, Parvaiz Ahmed and Bashir Ahmad, suspecting that this was a deliberate ISI strategy to create a new module with minimal involvement of local Kashmiri terrorists or known Over Ground Workers (OGWs). Officials believe this was done to maintain top-level secrecy. Initially, it was suspected that three to five terrorists carried out the Baisaran Valley attack, but so far, the NIA has identified three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, all Pakistani nationals. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. 'India Taking A Leap In Human Space Travel': ISRO Chief To News18 After Shubhanshu Shukla's Success

V Narayanan confirmed that the human-rated vehicle for Gaganyaan is getting ready, and advanced safety systems are under vigorous development The triumph of the Axiom 4 mission, which saw Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla gain invaluable spaceflight experience, was a moment of immense relief and pride for ISRO, but it wasn't without its challenges. In a candid interview with CNN-News18, ISRO chairman V Narayanan revealed the intense personal pressure he faced when a minor leak was detected in the launch vehicle, a critical issue that led to a postponement and ultimately ensured the mission's safe execution. 'Congratulations to all. It's a grand, successful mission," Narayanan declared, proud of the Axiom 4 achievement. 'This experience will be extremely useful for our Gaganyaan programme. We are all working very hard to send our own brothers and sisters to space and bring them back safely." Narayanan emphasised the significant strides India is making in its human space programme. He confirmed that the human-rated vehicle for Gaganyaan is getting ready, and advanced safety systems are under vigorous development. The orbital module is also progressing steadily, forming key components of India's ambitious foray into crewed spaceflight. A Critical Decision for Safety Recalling the lead-up to Axiom 4, Narayanan detailed the crucial decision to postpone the launch due to the detected leakage. 'It was a great decision," he stated, explaining ISRO's firm stance. 'We intervened and told them it had to be corrected, and only then would we allow it. Based on our insistence, the launch was postponed, and it was corrected. It ensured a safe flight…I was sure it would be safe when, on our insistence, they did validation tests and corrected it." Narayanan offered a deeply personal insight into the stressful period. 'I was spending sleepless nights when the rocket was having leaks. Till it was stopped, I didn't sleep. Because the safety of our brothers and astronauts is involved. How can I sleep when they are not safe? Once it was corrected, I was a cool person. But that time was very tense; I can't explain in words," he said. Narayanan said that the training that two of India's Gaganyaatris, Shukla and Prashant Nair, underwent for 10 months will be invaluable for India's space mission. The ISRO team was on-site for a month during launch operations. 'My team did a fantastic job in sending them properly to space. I was there to ensure their safety," Narayanan said, reinforcing ISRO's dedication. 'On June 10, we were not convinced, and they had to put a hold on the launch at our insistence. It was corrected. This successful mission is truly a seed for our Gaganyaan programme." Extensive Testing for Gaganyaan's Future Looking ahead, Narayanan shared impressive figures for the Gaganyaan programme itself. 'For Gaganyaan, we have carried out 7,300 tests so far. Each milestone is important," he said. The ISRO chief detailed that the total will reach 10,000 tests, encompassing crew module tests, propulsion module tests, simulation tests, and environmental and electrical tests. 'Training astronauts and giving them experience was one. Basically, our country is taking a leap in the human space programme. We are trying to learn whatever is possible." Narayanan concluded by emphasising the paramount importance of astronaut confidence, reassuring that 'thousands of people are working for their safety". The experience gained from Axiom 4, particularly in aspects like landing, he said, will significantly contribute to India's future human spaceflight endeavours. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. 'Big Moment, Spent Sleepless Nights': ISRO Chief On Shubhanshu Shukla's Return To Earth

Last Updated: Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla and his crew returned safely after staying 18 days in space. ISRO chairman V Narayanan called it a big moment for India. As India rejoices over the safe and successful return of Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla and his three crew members, ISRO chairman V Narayanan said, 'It's a big moment for India." Recalling the leak of liquid oxygen (LOx) from the Falcon 9 rocket which has significantly delayed the mission launch, the ISRO chief said he 'spent sleepless nights" over the issue. Speaking to CNN-News18, Narayanan said, 'It's a big moment for India. I spent sleepless nights when there was a leak in the vehicle." Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla along with his team returned to Earth on Tuesday, after spending nearly three weeks in space. The Dragon spacecraft, carrying the Axiom-4 crew, splashed down near the coast of California on Tuesday at 3.01 pm IST. The Axiom-4 mission, which carried four astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS), was postponed several times due to problems in the rocket. During pre-launch preparations, a leak of liquid oxygen (LOx) from the rocket was detected. SpaceX, the company that produces these rockets, had initially said that it would be able to fix the problem soon to enable the launch. However, later it was decided to put off the launch to allow for more time to carry out the repairs. Finally, Shukla and three other Axiom-4 crew members, including Commander Peggy Whitson, and Mission Specialists Slawosz 'Suave" Uznanski-Wisniewski and Tibor Kapu embarked on the space odyssey on June 25 from Florida. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Image courtesy: Save Nimisha Priya Action council/CNN Lodged in the central prison of Yemen's Sana'a, Kerala nurse Nimisha Priya has a reason to hope. She will not be executed tomorrow (July 16), her counsel has said. The execution was reportedly halted by the authorities in Yemen, sources told CNN-News18. However, the fresh date for her execution was not immediately known. The 38-year-old is facing a death sentence for murdering a Yemeni citizen and her business partner, Talal Abdo Mehdi, in 2017. Back in India, efforts are on at various levels to save Nimisha Priya from the gallows. The latest to step in is the Grand Mufti – top Sunni leader Kanthapuram AP Aboobacker Musliyar. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD There is only one legal route to save the 38-year-old Malayali nurse: To convince the victim's family to accept blood money. Under the Sharia law, which governs Yemen, this legally sanctioned financial compensation to the family of the murder victim is a valid alternative to capital punishment. However, it has to be accepted by the kin. Here's everything that is being done in India to help Nimisha Priya secure a lifeline. Influential Sunni cleric, Yemen scholar part of negotiations The Grand Mufti joined efforts to convince Mehdi's kin to accept the blood money. Nimisha Priya's lawyer, Subhash Chandran, said that efforts are ongoing to save the nurse's life through the intervention of the influential Sunni cleric. Through Musliyar, also known as Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad, they have reached out to a family member and some local and religious leaders in Yemen. 'We are trying our best so that the family accepts the blood money and the Kerala nurse is spared from death row,' Chandran told The New Indian Express (TNIE). Those close to the negotiations said that the Grand Mufti had stepped in personally and was making efforts to open a channel of negotiation. He held talks with religious authorities in Yemen who are in touch with the victim's family, the report said. Influential Sunni Muslim cleric Kanthapuram AP Aboobacker Musliyar has joined the negotiations to save Nimisha Priya. Musliara also reached out to Mehdi's brother through a prominent Yemeni Islamic scholar in a last-ditch effort to save Nimisha Priya. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD A negotiation team was working around the clock, knowing that the execution date was fast approaching. An office was opened at Musliyar's headquarters in Kerala to coordinate the process. Following Musaliyar's intervention, under Yemeni Sufi scholar Sheikh Umar bin Hafiz's leadership, discussions are being held in Yemen with the family of the deceased. A Yemeni Supreme Court judge is also part of these talks, say sources. The latest round of talks was held on Monday night, say reports. All the efforts were focused on delaying the execution date. A source told The Indian Express that community leaders, two Yemeni citizens associated with the India mission and a negotiator, Samuel Jerome Bhaskaran, were involved in the discussions. A trust that earlier helped save Abdul Rahim, a Kerala native who was freed from Saudi jail in 2006 by offering blood money, has reportedly offered a Rs 11 crore fund for Nimisha Priya, according to Onmanorama. Nimisha Priya is facing a death sentence for murdering her Yemeni business partner in 2017 The Indian govt opens 'unofficial channels' The matter came up for hearing in the Supreme Court on Monday. The plea was filed by Save Nimisha Priya International Action Council, an organisation fighting to save the nurse's life. The Centre told the top court that the blood money settlement was the only option to save the Kerala nurse. However, Attorney General of India (AGI) R Venkataram added that the government has limited ability to intervene because of the lack of diplomatic leverage. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD India does not have formal diplomatic relations with the Houthis, the rebel group which controls parts of Yemen, including the capital Sana'a where Nimisha Priya is a convict. The AGI informed the apex court that the government was in touch with Yemeni authorities, including the public prosecutor, and was trying to delay the nurse's execution. The Indian government has also opened unofficial channels. The government lawyer said India reached out to 'an influential sheikh' in Yemen to persuade the authorities there. 'We got an informal communication that the execution would be put in abeyance, but we don't know if it will work out,' the AGI added. Advocate Subhash Chandran KR, representing nurse Nimisha Priya, addresses the media in New Delhi. He said that efforts were first focused on delaying the execution. File photo/PTI Kerala CM writes to PM Modi Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan sent a letter to PM Narendra Modi on Sunday (July 13), urging him to intervene and take steps to release Nimisha Priya. 'It is learnt from the media that the execution of Nimisha Priya has been fixed for July 16, 2025. Considering the fact that this is a case deserving sympathy, I appeal to the Prime Minister to take up the matter and intervene with the authorities concerned to save the life of Nimisha Priya,' the letter said. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The CM also attached a letter sent to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in March, requesting him to give directions to the Indian embassy to intervene in the matter. Last week, Kerala MPs K Radhakrishnan and John Brittas also urged the Centre to step in with urgent diplomatic intervention. Desperate efforts by Nimisha Priya's family Nimisha Priya's husband, Tomy Thomas, met the Kerala Governor on July 14. He was accompanied by Congress MP Chandy Oommen, who facilitated the meeting with Governor Rajendra Arlekar in Thiruvananthapuram. Thomas told India Today TV, 'The Governor has taken the issue seriously. He has promised me that he will inform the central government about it. He has spoken to them. Chandy Oommen and his mother (former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy's wife) also met the Governor. Nimisha's mother wanted to speak to him. So we called her on video and he asked her to stay strong. He has promised all help.' Nimisha Priya's mother has been in Yemen since last year. She told The Indian Express, 'I met my daughter in jail last month. She is suffering in silence.' The nurse's family made a last-ditch plea for clemency by offering $1 million (approximately Rs 8.6 crore) as blood money to the victim's family. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The case against Nimisha Priya Nimisha Priya, a nurse from Kollengode in Kerala's Palakkad district, moved to Yemen in 2008. She was working at hospitals before starting her clinic with the help of Mehdi. However, she was accused of killing him in 2017. The nurse allegedly faced physical, mental and financial abuse, which led to the murder. A trial court in Yemen awarded Nimisha Priya a death sentence, which was upheld by the country's Supreme Court. Last year, Yemen's President Rashad al-Alimi approved the death sentence for Nimisha Priya. The order has been with the prosecutor since January this year. It remains to be seen if Nimisha Priya can be saved from the gallows. But today is a small victory for all those who have been working tirelessly for the nurse. With inputs from agencies
