Rock legend worth £110,000,000 shocks fans on £47 Ryanair flight to Bristol
Despite having a net worth of £111million ($150m), the Boomtown Rats singer, 73, showed that he was both an eco-warrior and a man of the people as he and his band travelled on a £47 flight to Bristol.
The Irish singer was spotted at Venice's Marco Polo airport by a fellow passenger who said he spotted the millionaire looking incognito in sunglasses and having a coffee and a croissant in a cafe after security.
They also noted that he was happy to join the long Ryanair check-in queue, and didn't pay for early boarding.
'He didn't even pay to fast-track security or anything, he didn't moan or anything – he was just with everybody else,' Jay Curtis, a travel content creator, told Bristol Post.
The content creator got a selfie and asked Sir Bob what he was doing on a commercial flight, to which he replied: 'I don't spend money on luxury travel'.
Sir Bob's travel journey took place on Friday, July 18, days after the Boomtown Rats performed in Italy at the Pordenone Blues Festival.
The concert was a free event and took place 50 years after Live Aid, which was organised by Sir Bob, and was the largest charity concert in the history of music.
Earlier this month, the Live Aid 40th Anniversary Gala took place with Midge Ure and Sir Brian May also attending.
Sir Bob isn't the only star to be snapped slumming it with regular people on a commercial flight.
Tom Holland was snapped on a number of commercial flights from London to Budapest when he was visiting his then-girlfriend (now fiancée) Zendaya while she was shooting Dune.
The US Office's Rainn Wilson has been open about his climate change views and has shared stories about flying on commercial flights. More Trending
Robin Williams was also known to fly on commercial flights and reportedly expected no preferential treatment from the staff.
Last year, Will Ferrell made headlines when he flew on an Aer Lingus flight from London to Dublin.
'On my London to Dublin @AerLingus flight this evening I was beside Will Ferrell.. in a s**t unreserved seat. There we go, [sic]' @emmaquinlain, a passenger on the plane, shared at the time.

It comes after Conor and Shakira were seen breaking down in tears on Wednesday night's episode after they decided to call off their romance. She opened up to Toni Laites that she had "suppressed emotions" over Harry Cooksley on Love Island. This is despite the fact that he is in an exclusive partnership with Helena Ford. Just hours after their split, Conor and Shakira were seen cuddling up to each other as Shakira emotionally declared that she was "scared of losing" him. A topless Conor was then seen dabbing his eyes as he quietly broke down in tears. However, droves of viewers took to social media as they were left confused by the interaction. Writing on X - formerly known as Twitter - one fan asked: "Why were Conor and Shakira crying in bed over losing eachother… am I missing something?" A second enquired: "Why are they both so emotional? Shakira and Conor what's going on? "Conor crying? What's going on in this episode?," exclaimed a third viewer. 4 Megan landed back in the villa as a shock bombshell on Tuesday night Credit: ITV 4 Shakira and Conor decided to call it quits earlier this week Credit: Shutterstock Editorial Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
