Employee satisfaction awards in San Francisco Bay Area and Central Indiana reflect FDB's dedication to its passionate team working to improve medication decisions.
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. and INDIANAPOLIS, May 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- FDB (First Databank, Inc.), the leading provider of drug knowledge that helps healthcare professionals make precise decisions, announced today it has been recognized as a Top Workplace for 2025 in two major metropolitan regions: Central Indiana and the San Francisco Bay Area.
FDB was recognized by The Indianapolis Star as one of the top small workplaces among companies and organizations across a 23-county region in central Indiana. In the San Francisco Bay Area, where FDB's headquarters are located, the company was recognized by The San Francisco Chronicle as a top workplace among employers across an 11-county region. FDB's other offices are in Durham, N.C., the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and India.
This marks the ninth consecutive year that FDB has received this recognition for employee satisfaction and human resource excellence in Central Indiana, and the second consecutive year that FDB has been recognized in the San Francisco Bay Area.
FDB's passionate team of professionals, which includes many pharmacists and other highly credentialed clinicians and knowledge specialists, is working together, in collaboration with FDB customers, to create and integrate the world's most trusted drug knowledge that illuminates critical medication decisions.
"As every organizational leader knows, their team is their most important asset and what truly makes their company a success," said FDB President Bob Katter. "At FDB, it is our responsibility to do everything in our power to help our team members succeed so we can collectively achieve our vision of a healthier world where every medication decision is perfectly informed."
"A huge part of that duty," Katter continued, "is creating and sustaining a culture that fosters open dialogue and idea-sharing and promoting a workplace where innovation is a daily practice and where both purpose and people thrive. These awards reflect our dedication to our team, but more importantly, their daily commitment to improving healthcare."
Top Workplaces awards are based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage LLC. The confidential survey uniquely measures the employee experience and its component themes, including employees feeling respected and supported, enabled to grow, and empowered to execute, to name a few.
"Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees," said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. "That's something to be proud of. In today's market, leaders must ensure they're allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That's paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends."
In their feedback to Energage, FDB employees praised the supportive, people-first company culture and said that FDB solutions directly contribute to positive patient outcomes by delivering trusted and meaningful drug and clinical decision support to physicians, pharmacists, nurses and other healthcare decision-makers.
FDB, part of the Hearst Health network, has earned the loyalty of its workforce during its nearly 50-year history through its commitment to quality, innovation, and customer service, as well as its core values of responsibility, respect, integrity, collaboration, reliability, and problem solving.

Leveraging the strengths of a 100-billion-yuan industrial cluster in "Lighting Capital of China," the event will bring together 3,500 premier brands from across the entire supply chain and over 100,000 industry professionals. Primarily export-oriented while also catering to the domestic market, the exhibition is perfectly timed for the peak global sourcing season for lighting and decorative fixtures. It provides an unparalleled platform for industry peers to connect, showcase their innovations, and collectively witness the latest technologies, emerging trends, and groundbreaking achievements in the sector. Visitors can pre-register for free tickets by 12:00 PM on October 18, 2025. Simply present your e-Badge and passport at the counter to receive a paper pass for fast entry and a hassle-free exhibition experience! Grand Vision + Full Supply Chain: Launching a Flagship Autumn Event at the Source Under the theme "Guzhen Lights Up the World," this year's fair is distinguished by its professional, market-driven, and international focus. The main venue at the Guzhen Convention and Exhibition Center will operate in synergy with 8 major sub-venues, creating an exhibition-megastores linkage with an exhibition area exceeding 1.5 million square meters. This "1+8+N" model seamlessly integrates the main exhibition hall with major lighting megastores and countless businesses, combining physical and online platforms for a one-stop sourcing experience. As Lighting Capital of China, Guzhen provides robust industrial support for the fair. The town is home to over 76,000 business entities, with more than 80% related to lighting and its supporting sectors. With 3 million square meters of dedicated lighting showrooms, the town dominates over 70% of China's domestic lighting market, forming a massive industrial cluster worth over 100 billion yuan. In response to the overwhelming enthusiasm from exhibitors, the main venue's layout across its eight halls (A-H) has been meticulously optimized. This enhancement serves to elevate brand showcases and foster greater category synergy, demonstrating our commitment to forging a more professional, diverse, and comprehensive sourcing event. During the exhibition, the main venue will convene over 1,000 exhibitors. The exhibition will feature a comprehensive spectrum of product categories, including smart lighting, residential lighting, decorative lighting, commercial lighting, outdoor lighting, Cultural Tourism Lighting, special lamps, machinery & equipment, and accessories & components. The product range spans all categories and price points, meeting buyers' varied sourcing requirements. Digital Intelligence + Originality: Interpreting New Productive Forces and Cutting-Edge Trends In alignment with the global transformation of the lighting industry, the main venue will prominently feature three pivotal industry domains: "AI + IoT," "Low-Carbon Lighting + New Energy," and "Cross-Disciplinary Integration + Healthy Lighting." This focus on "New Quality Productive Forces" will help Guzhen strengthen, supplement, and expand its industry chain, propelling the lighting sector into a new ecosystem. Enterprises from core Greater Bay Area cities (Zhongshan, Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan, Jiangmen) and major national LED lighting hubs will gather to present their latest advancements. These include core technologies like smart control systems, power drivers, and chip R&D, as well as innovations such as original artistic luminaires, customized lighting environment designs, all-scenario lighting solutions, industrial lighting applications, and integrated new energy storage technologies. This comprehensive showcase will present the industry's latest trends and forward-thinking applications. The fair aims to catalyze diverse market demand for "technology empowerment, scenario innovation, and ecological co-creation." It will accelerate Guzhen's development into five core ecosystems—an industrial center, a trade center, a design center, an information center, and a technology center— solidifying its position as a world-leading capital for the lighting industry. "Cross-border E-commerce + Industrial Cluster" Upgrade: Precision Matching for Win-Win Deals In 2024, Guzhen was recognized as a "Zhongshan E-commerce Agglomeration Zone," with its foreign trade exports surpassing 10 billion yuan. The autumn edition of the 2024 GILF achieved a record-breaking 35.4% increase in overseas visitors. As a flagship event for the Lighting Capital, GILF is dedicated to elevating its "Cross-border E-commerce + Industry Cluster" model. This year's exhibition will see an optimized and upgraded "Hosted Buyer Program ". We have specially invited hundreds of overseas procurement buyers, forming international purchasing delegations characterized by strong overall capabilities and high willingness to collaborate, to visit the exhibition and make purchases. GILF will meticulously organize a four-part series of activities: Welcome Reception, Business Matching, VIP Souring Tour, and Networking Party— to facilitate direct connections between suppliers and buyers, significantly optimizing communication efficiency. Based on the specific sourcing needs of visiting international buyers, the organizer will carefully select highly compatible, high-quality exhibitors. All participating exhibitors have a strong export track record and hold international certifications such as CE/ROHS (Europe), FCC/UL (USA), CSA (North America), IC (Canada), GS (Germany/Europe), SAA (Australia), PSE (Japan), and KC (Korea), ensuring they meet the high standards of global buyers. This arrangement will enable buyers from around the globe to achieve efficient matchmaking and procurement with brand manufacturers from the source region, all within an environment characterized by "precision, optimal selection, innovation, and comfort." Concurrently, it will empower enterprises to expand their networks, uncover business opportunities, and foster the creation of an international and high-end business communication platform, thereby promoting mutually beneficial development for both parties. Industry Exchange & Sharing: Elevating the Multi-Tier Sourcing Event Over the four-day exhibition period, the main venue will convene expert elites from the "Government, Industry, Academia, Sales, and Research" sectors. Significant support will be provided by the China Association of Lighting Industry and the Guangdong E-Commerce Association. Leading enterprises from the entire supply chain, alongside prominent local companies, will all be present to jointly present numerous exciting exchange and sharing activities. This event will spotlight the latest in industry technology and ground breaking innovations in AI + Low-Carbon. Concurrently, we'll unveil critical discussions on industry trends, cross-border strategies for industrial hubs, and emerging domestic e-commerce tracks. These discussions will then dive deep into new industry development paradigms, discover novel application technologies, and forge new market breakthrough strategies. Concurrently, eight major sub-venues, including Lihe Lighting Expo Center, Huayi Plaza, and Star Alliance, will also fully exert their efforts. A series of exciting events, such as themed sourcing festivals, new product launch events, and live stream showroom tours, will be staged in rotation. This will collectively establish a multi-layered, all-encompassing autumn procurement event, creating an industry autumn grand occasion that integrates trend insights, technology showcases, order matching, and global sourcing.
