Telangana Man Pulls Off Pradeep Ranganathan's Dragon-Inspired Job Scam, Disappears Without A Trace
Life imitates art, they say — but in this case, it's full-on cosplay! Reportedly, a man in Telangana pulled off a scam similar to Pradeep Ranganathan's Dragon.
Well, this one's straight out of a movie… quite literally. Remember Dragon, the 2025 Pradeep Ranganathan-starrer that hit theatres on February 21? Turns out, the film's central scam plot wasn't just entertaining but it's also now eerily real. And we mean real real.
Reportedly, Rapa Sai Prashanth, a techie from Telangana, allegedly decided to take a page (or the whole chapter) from Dragon. According to a Times of India report, Prashanth landed a job at Infosys by… wait for it… having someone else attend his virtual interview. It was a full-on identity swap, complete with fake credentials.
He bagged the offer letter on January 20, 2025, and started working soon after. But here's where it gets interesting. While the 'interview version" of him was smooth and confident, the 'on-the-job" Prashanth apparently struggled with basic communication. The Infosys HR decided to dig a little deeper and did a comparison of interview screenshots and his company ID photo. This is when they realised that it wasn't even the same person! The man reportedly posed as someone else and faked his qualifications to land the job. They allegedly found out that a completely different person had shown up for the virtual interview on Prashanth's behalf.
Prashanth's contract was promptly terminated just 15 days after the truth came out. And as for the man himself? He's now absconding!
As for Dragon, the Pradeep Ranganathan starrer follows the journey of a struggling young man with no formal education, leaning heavily on his friends and girlfriend to get by until life flips on its head when she walks away.
These twists push him toward a risky shortcut as he forges certificates to land a cushy job. For a while, it all seems to work until his past catches up. His old college principal sniffs out the lie and throws him a harsh ultimatum: finish your education or watch it all fall apart.
What follows is an emotional rollercoaster as he fights to set things right. With Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead, Dragon also stars Anupama Parameswaran and Kayadu Lohar in pivotal roles.

Bijaynagar sex abuse: Court rejects bail plea of 3 accused
1 2 Jaipur: The POSCO court Friday denied the bail application of cafe owner Shravan Jat and two minors involved in the Bijaynagar sexual abuse case of school-going minor girls. The court observed, "When the accused brought the minor girls to the cafe, the cafe owner Shravan not only made the rooms available to the accused but also remained in the cafe as part of the gang and was involved in it. " On June 4, the court rejected the bail of former councillor Hakim Kureshi. The cafe owner, Shravan, absconded after his name emerged during the investigation and was later arrested in Bangalore. The local municipality demolished cafe 'Chill Out' in Bijaynagar on Feb 20, citing it as an illegal construction. The case, registered on Feb 15 by the parents of three minors, sparked tension in the region, leading to a bandh in cities like Ajmer, Bhilwara, Beawar, Bijaynagar, Gulabpura, and Nasirabad. Police arrested 17 accused, including four minors, in this case. Special Public Prosecutor Prashant Yadav stated, "It was argued that the cafe owner was in the loop with the accused who brought the minor girls to the cafe for sexual abuse. The cafe owner never objected to such acts in his cafe and charged money for it." He added that the accused cafe owner, Shravan, fled when the incident came to light and was arrested in Bangalore. The bail applications of the two minor accused were also filed in court and were rejected. Yadav said, "It came out in the investigation that the minor accused were involved in the gang. The minor accused called the victims, talked obscenely on the phone, pressured the victims to make other girls their friends, and forced them to wear burkhas and do daily prayers." After hearing the argument, the court rejected the bail application of the two minor accused. Police, after investigation, filed an 895-page charge sheet against the accused in one FIR.
