PropNex Malaysia projects RM60m in sales from PropNex Property XPO 2025
KUALA LUMPUR: Real estate agency PropNex Malaysia is projecting RM60 million in sales from PropNex Property XPO 2025 to be held in July, up from the RM38 million recorded last year.
PropNex Malaysia CEO Marcus Teng said the higher target is driven by strong early momentum as well as interest from foreign buyers, particularly from China and Singapore.
'Even when we had our first stop last month in Cheras, we organised it there and, to our surprise, we recorded RM30 million in sales that day,' he told reporters at the PropNex Malaysia Convention 2025 on Tuesday.
Teng said the optimistic projection is also supported by improving regional connectivity and pro-investment policies.
'Our Ministry of Tourism recently announced that China-Malaysia visa-free entry for up to 90 days is extended for five years. That's a major move that will benefit cross-border investment.'
He added that he has consistently seen strong interest from Singapore, stating that many Singaporeans are keen to retire in Malaysia.
'With the RTS (Rapid Transit System) Link set to begin operations by end-2026, Johor will boom as connectivity between both countries improves.'
However, Teng said he expected 60–70% of the demand will still be driven by locals and the remaining 30% coming from foreigners.
PropNex Property XPO 2025 will take place on July 26 and 27 at the Connexion Conference and Event Centre (CCEC) in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur.
Now in its seventh edition, Property XPO is the largest multisector property exhibition in Asean by a single real estate agency.
Teng said that with over 5,000 listings expected, up from 3,000 recorded last year, and a line-up of top developers, financial partners, and real estate experts, the two-day expo will offer access to some of Malaysia's most attractive and diverse real estate opportunities.
This year, PropNex aims to make history by achieving the highest number of multisector property listings ever presented by a single agency at a property expo. This feat is currently under Asean Records Official Attempt status.
Teng said the expo will showcase a broad spectrum of listings, ranging from commercial and land projects to sub-sales, auctions, and industrial properties.
'The official record attempt reflects our mission to bring together key knowledge, experts, and opportunities to help Malaysians make empowered property decisions.'
He added that attendees will also gain direct insights into market trends, investment strategies, and financing solutions, including Islamic banking. Visitors can explore exclusive property offers, attend educational keynotes, and engage in personalised advisory sessions.
Another key highlight is the Malaysian debut of the Property Wealth System, developed by PropNex Singapore executive director Kelvin Fong.

KAPIT (June 26): The proposed Jalan Nanga Ibau/Ulu Sungai Ibau project, valued at RM99.9 million, is expected to significantly improve rural connectivity and uplift the socio-economic conditions of interior communities, said Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas. He said the project, involving the construction of approximately 12.5 kilometres of new road and two spur roads, would feature three reinforced steel joist bridges (each 3.7 metres wide), reinforced concrete culverts, drainage systems, geotechnical works, earthworks, and the installation of road furniture. With a construction period of 36 months, the road will directly benefit 11 longhouses comprising 219 families, and improve access to the Nanga Ibau Health Clinic as well as two rural schools – SK Nanga Ibau and SK Nanga Segenok, he added. 'This road project will bring long-term socio-economic benefits to the local community. 'It is part of ongoing efforts to advance the rural development agenda in a comprehensive manner, aimed at providing convenient connectivity for rural communities,' he said during the earth-breaking ceremony earlier today. Uggah, who is also State Infrastructure and Port Development Minister, also expressed appreciation to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari for allocating significant funding to accelerate rural infrastructure development. Under the State Infrastructure and Port Development Ministry, he noted that 40 state-funded projects are currently being implemented in the Kapit Division. 'The total allocation for all these projects is RM1.233 billion. Of this, 19 projects have been fully completed, while five projects worth RM116 million are currently under construction. 'These include road and bridge developments that are much needed by the rural population. 'The remaining 16 projects, worth RM721 million, are expected to be tendered within this year,' he said, affirming the state government's commitment to ensuring development in rural areas like Kapit. He also urged contractors to commit fully to their work and strictly follow contract terms regarding schedules, specifications, and costs. 'As the project implementing agency, JKR (Public Works Department) Kapit must also ensure this project is handled transparently and efficiently,' he said. On the use of former logging roads, Uggah said the state government is upgrading inactive routes to serve as vital links for economic and social development in Kapit's interior. The Kapit Resident Office had requested RM60 million for this purpose, and RM27 million has been approved to begin upgrading works. An additional RM100 million has been allocated under the 2026 state budget for further road repairs across the region. 'With this approach, it is hoped that the PCDS (Post Covid-19 Development Strategy) 2030 target will be achieved as soon as possible,' he said. Sarawak tourism booms as monthly receipts top RM1 bln

He said this reflects a steady rise in tourist arrivals and spending, with Sarawak well on track to meet its five million visitor target for the year, where the state recorded 1.6 million tourist arrivals as of May. 'Tourism receipts, calculated based on spending by both domestic and international tourists, have surpassed RM1 billion monthly. 'This includes expenditures on accommodation, food, transport, shopping and other tourism-related services,' he said during the flag-off ceremony of the C.A.M Road Tour 2025 at Roxy Hotel here today. Abdul Karim attributed Sarawak's growing appeal to its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, noting that tourists are drawn not to shopping malls, but to jungles, caves, national parks, and vibrant festivals. He cited the recently concluded Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) as one of Sarawak's key tourism drivers, alongside the Kuching Jazz Festival, Borneo Jazz Festival in Miri, and numerous food festivals held throughout the year. 'Many know that most of our nature-based tourism spots are not in the city centre. We need reliable and comfortable transport to reach them,' he said.
