A general compartment of the Shalimar-Sambalpur Mahima Gosain Express derailed near Sambalpur railway station on Thursday, but there was no report of any injury, an official statement said.The incident took place between the Sambalpur city station -Sambalpur junction, shortly after the train departed from Sambalpur city at 9:18 am at a very slow speed, the East Coast Railway said in a statement."No loss of life or property in this incident reported," the railway statement said.The guard of the train said that a major accident was avoided as the speed of the loco was very slow.Railway officials and local police have reached the site and shifted the passengers to another coach.The East Coast Railway statement said that the rear trolley of a general coach next to the guard van of 20831 Shalimar-Sambalpur Express derailed near Sambalpur City Station at a very slow speed."Train already left for Sambalpur with all passengers. No one injured," it said.Railway officials including the DRM have reached the site and overseeing early restoration of traffic.

Eight of them sustained minor injuries, while four were seriously injured, he district magistrate said that all injured labourers were admitted to Vivekanand Hospital in of them has got a fracture in the leg, while another labourer on whom a spinal MRI needs to be done is being taken in an ambulance to a hospital in Srinagar in Pauri district, he said the MRI report will reveal the severity of his district magistrate further said that there were around 70 labourers present on the spot where the landslide occurred, adding the work has been suspended for the time being at the project site."THDC has been asked to resume work at the site only after ensuring the safety of those at work," he State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), police and health department personnel rushed to the spot after being informed about the THDC is building a barrage to stop the water of Alaknanda river from Helang near Joshimath. The water of Alaknanda river from this barrage will be brought to Pipalkoti through a tunnel where electricity is to be generated through in 2021, the barrage side was damaged due to flood in Alaknanda river.

1 2 Kanpur: Two coaches of the Muzaffarpur-Sabarmati Jan Sadharan Express (15269) derailed between Kanpur and Tundla in Uttar Pradesh on Friday afternoon. The derailment occurred near Bhaurpur outer area near Kanpur while the train was switching to the loop line at point and line number four to give passage to two passing trains. The slow speed of the train averted a major derailment, said rail officials. About 15 passengers sustained minor injuries. The up track remained closed for three hours, brining 12 trains to halt at nearby stations. Senior railway officials and emergency response teams reached the site and carried out relief operations. The Sabarmati Jansadharan Express had reached Kanpur Central Station at 3:07pm on Friday, more than two hours behind its scheduled arrival of 12:50pm. Following a brief 10-minute stop, it proceeded onwards. Around 4:15pm, while being directed to the loop line near Bhaurpur station's outer yard, the sixth and seventh coaches derailed. Loco pilot Chaman Ahmed and loco inspector Sunil Sharma from Tundla were operating the engine during the incident. The derailment caused complete disruption of the up track. Railway operations continued on the down track. Senior railway officials, including NCR general manager Upendra Joshi, DRM Rajneesh Agrawal and central station director Ashutosh Singh, visited the site. Several trains were diverted after the derailment. The Lucknow Junction Swarna Shatabdi Express was redirected from Unnao Junction to Delhi via Lucknow-Moradabad-Ghaziabad. The Bikaner Superfast Express was diverted through Bhimsen, Jhansi-Agra Cantt-Bandikui, while the North East Express was rerouted via Kanpur Central-Lucknow-Moradabad-Ghaziabad. NCR chief PRO Shashikant Tripathi said helpline numbers were established. Normal service on the up track was expected to resume soon.
