On July 30, 1999, the 13-year-old girl complained at Gokulpuri police station that her father had attempted to poison her and her two younger sisters. She said that on July 29, around 10.30pm, her father returned home and gave her three capsules—blue on the outside and white on the inside—asking her to consume one and administer the other two to her sisters.
"When she questioned the need as she only had stomach pain, the father insisted and personally made the younger girls consume them.

The complainant pretended to ingest the capsule but hid it under her tongue," deputy commissioner of police (crime) Aditya Gautam said.
Soon, both younger sisters exhibited signs of poisoning, including laboured breathing and frothing at the mouth, while the complainant experienced irritation and spat out the capsule outside the house. She ran to seek help from neighbours. On returning home, they found that the man had absconded. The younger girls were rushed to hospital, but were declared dead.

This incident, along with others, prompted the MEA to advise Indian citizens abroad to respect local laws. What Happened A video clip showing staff at the UK theatre chain Cineworld halting a screening of Pawan Kalyan's Hari Hara Veera Mallu after sections of the audience threw confetti has put the spotlight on unruly Tollywood fan behaviour abroad. The screening was paused as staff addressed the disruption, prompting some moviegoers to argue that no prior notice had been displayed prohibiting such celebrations. MEA's advisory for Indians overseas to follow local laws The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) recently issued an advisory urging Indian citizens residing abroad to respect local laws and 'create a good image' of themselves and the country.
