Camden County issues county-wide burn ban until April 1
Now the entire county is in a burn ban.
'This has just been unprecedented, especially having so many days back to back when we're having extreme or critical fire conditions,' said Emergency Management Director John Scheper.
The county-wide burn ban means you are not allowed to set any intentional fires or you could face misdemeanor charges and a $250 fine.

'The firefight here in Camden County has been remarkable,' Scheper said. 'I don't know that we've ever seen anything like this.'
Scheper credits their mutual aid partners across the state for helping them get a handle on these numerous fires.
He says right now, they don't know how many fires have popped up in the county, but they do know over two dozen structures have been damaged, and over 30 vehicles, including boats, have been caught in the flames.
'Our people, our resources, our equipment are just stretched to the limit right now,' Scheper said. 'And what we really need is probably a two or three days sustained rain.'

Scheper estimates that 2,500 to 3,500 acres have burned.
'This is still an ongoing event,' Scheper said. 'Realistically, the first major relief that I think we're going to see is maybe this weekend.'
No one has died from these fires, but a few firefighters have minor injuries.
'Our firefighters are pretty resilient group of people,' Scheper said. 'It would take a lot to put any of them out of action.'
The burn ban is in effect until April 1.

The leftover damp, cloudy forecast will mean highs in the 60s to low 70s. Overall, rainfall totals will average a tenth to a quarter inch or so. Lesser totals will be reserved for the North Country with the highest totals set for southern Vermont and the Upper Valley. Overnight, it's starry skies and patchy fog that returns with lows in the 40s/50s. Friday, high pressure moves in from the Great Lakes which will mean a mostly sunny day with just a few fair weather clouds. Highs will make a seasonable run into the upper 70s to low 80s with north winds and comfortable humidity. The best part about Friday's high pressure is that it will continue to bump power Hurricane Erin out to sea and away from the east, but only after some very high surf/beach erosion/coastal flooding/life-threatening rip currents for the entire east coast. Shifted grounds, heavy rain prompt emergency repairs on I-69
HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – A traffic alert for drivers in Hopkins County as crews make emergency repairs to part of I-69. It comes after part of the road was washed out during last week's heavy rain. This happened in the northbound lanes just south of the Earlington exit. Kentucky Transportation officials say the ground shifted under the pavement, which created large cracks in a recently repaired section of the interstate. Rain dissapears and heat lingers, but big heat relief showing up in a week
Another day of feast or famine, with some lucky locations receiving rainfall. With the good comes some bad, though, with stronger storms producing strong winds and frequent lightning. The rainfall was welcome, though, especially as we enter another long dry stretch. Today's round of showers and thunderstorms will continue into this evening before fading by midnight. A pocket of dry, stable air over Southwest Missouri will tend to keep rain out of much of Southwest Missouri. In the wake of tonight's cool front, we'll find an easing of the heat with afternoon highs in the upper 80s and low 90s. The overnights are where you may notice a real increase in comfort with low humidity air, opening the door to lows in the low to mid 60s. Another dry stretch gets started as well, with no rain expected through Friday. Download our KOLR 10 weather app They're may be a little bump in rain chances Saturday, though, mainly closer to Central Missouri as the next cool front arrives. The weekend cool front will deliver real heat relief with the coolest weather since at least the beginning of the month. We can look forward to a long stretch of highs below 90° and maybe even a day in there with highs below 80°. Cool overnight temperatures are also on the table, with some mornings dipping below 60°.
