STAM 2024: 34 Candidates Attained Excellent Results
PUTRAJAYA, May 20 (Bernama) -- The Education Ministry (MOE) today announced that 34 candidates for the 2024 Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) examination attained Mumtaz (excellent) grades in all subjects.
In a statement today, the MOE reported that the results showed an encouraging performance with a national grade average of 3.0 compared to 3.09 the previous year.
The lower the national grade average, the better the overall performance of candidates.

Bachok man seriously hurt after being gored by own bull
KOTA BHARU: A 35-year-old man was seriously injured after being gored by a bull he was raising as livestock in Kampung Neman, near Jelawat, Bachok, last Friday (May 30). Kelantan Health Department director Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin said the victim sustained serious abdominal injuries from a deep and wide wound caused by the animal's horns. "The victim was first taken to Bachok Hospital for treatment, after his family rushed him there following the incident. However, he was later referred to the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital (HRPZ II) here, where he successfully underwent surgery," he told Bernama today. He said the victim's condition was now stable, but the hospital would monitor the wound for possible infection. It is understood that the man was gored by the bull when it suddenly turned on him as it was being ushered into the pen at about 7pm. The animal was to be sold and handed over to a buyer in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.- Bernama

KUALA LUMPUR, June 3 — National para shuttler Cheah Liek Hou is thankful for the Bintang Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN) he was awarded in conjunction with the official birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, at Istana Negara yesterday. Cheah described the award from Sultan Ibrahim as an extraordinary recognition of his badminton career. 'I am proud of this achievement. As everyone knows, His Majesty is very strict in giving out such awards and it's not easy to obtain. 'To me, it's like I have reached a different level because I have brought glory to the country on the international stage,' he said when contacted by Bernama today. Cheah was among 14 individuals who received the KMN award at the presentation of the 2025 Federal awards, medals and honours in conjunction with His Majesty's official birthday. Cheah, at the same time, said he wishes to fully focus on his recovery process from a leg injury before returning to competitive action next year. The 37-year-old is a two-time Paralympic gold medallist, having emerged victorious in the men's SU5 category at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 editions. Preparation for HAWANA 2025 celebration reaches 80%
KUALA LUMPUR: Preparation for the June 14 National Journalists' Day (HAWANA) 2025 celebration has reached 80 per cent, said Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) chief executive officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin. She said preparations are actively underway by Bernama staff to ensure everything goes as planned. 'In fact, this evening, we will meet again to ensure this year's event will again be successful and run smoothly, thus meeting the expectations and satisfaction of those who will be attending,' she said when met by reporters after the HAWANA 2025-Bernama Strategic Partners' Appreciation Ceremony and Official Launch of BERNAMA Motorhome at Wisma Bernama here. The event was officiated by Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil. Also present were Communications Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa; Bernama Editor-in-Chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj, who is also the director of the HAWANA 2025 Project; as well as members of Bernama's top management. Nur-ul Afida, who is also the HAWANA 2025 Working Committee chairman, also expressed her appreciation to its 79 strategic partners, comprising ministries, departments, agencies and companies who are committed to making the HAWANA 2025 highlight and side programmes a success. 'I'm extremely grateful for the support and cooperation from our strategic partners, with the number of sponsors for this year's edition seeing a significant increase to almost 80 from 44 last year. 'This is proof that our strategic partners recognise the role played by Bernama, as the implementing agency of HAWANA 2025 under the Ministry of Communications, and also acknowledging the role and experience of media practitioners in our country,' she said.
