Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan's Solar Opposites is set to return to the screen for the sixth and final time. The American adult animated science-fiction sitcom was initially cancelled, but the makers later decided that the series would conclude with its sixth season, which is set to release on October 13. Interestingly, all 10 episodes will drop at once on Hulu and Disney+.
On July 25, the makers released the teaser for Solar Opposites Season 6. In the video, the alien crew struggles to adjust to their over-the-top, expensive lifestyle without their diamond-making machine – offering viewers a taste of sharp sci-fi satire blended with raunchy humour.
What To Expect From Solar Opposites Season 6
Since its beginning, the series has followed the story of a dysfunctional alien family – Korvo, Terry, Yumyulack, Jesse and The Pupa – who escape their exploding home planet, Shlorp, and crash-land on Earth. Across five seasons, the show explored how the characters had mixed feelings about living on Earth.
This time, the story will centre on how the alien family is forced to cope without their diamond-making machine. The season will highlight their struggles with a strict budget and a series of confrontations. Additionally, Season 6 will feature the much-awaited conclusion to The Wall, the long-running side story in Solar Opposites.
The official synopsis released with the teaser video reads: 'Once their alien diamond-making machine gets destroyed, the Solar Opposites must face their greatest challenge yet: living their expensive lives on a budget. When their consumerist habits and expensive hobbies are gone, only their true selves will remain, but will they like who they find? Also, the epic story of the people of The Wall has all built to this thrilling and shocking conclusion."
The show will feature Korvo and Terry portrayed as an LGBTQ+ couple.

The voice cast of Solar Opposites Season 6 includes Dan Stevens, Thomas Middleditch, Mary Mack and Sean Giambrone. Alongside the original voice cast, the new season features an impressive lineup of guest voices: Tiffany Haddish, Natalie Morales, Christina Hendricks, Alfred Molina, Jerry O'Connell, Ken Marino, Kieran Culkin and Beck Bennett, according to a report by Deadline.
