"Till now, a total of 39 godowns of dealers have been raided, and cases have been lodged against two, licenses of four suspended and four were issued show-cause notice," he said.
He added that the target has been achieved in natural farming in the district.
Along with this, guidelines were given for the construction of Vermi compost units. The process of cluster-based vermin peat manufacture will be started through farmers as soon as the online portal concerned opens.
Singh said that target of horticulture schemes has been achieved in the district for crops like like figs, ginger, turmeric, banana and coconut.

Motihari: East Champaran district magistrate (DM) Saurabh Jorwal on Wednesday, while addressing the agriculture task force meeting, asked the officials to ensure timely distribution of seeds and fertilizer in each blocks and gave clear instructions to maintain transparency in supply to control black marketing.

Mangolpuri tree felling: NGT holds Delhi Police accountable, orders compensatory plantation
New Delhi: National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed Delhi Police to carry out and maintain compensatory plantation for the illegal felling of a peepal tree and unauthorised pruning of two neem trees in the Mangolpuri area. The reply also reveals that the police issued an explanation notice to the caretaker, who failed to prevent unauthorised pruning of branches of the trees. The tribunal noted that 25 saplings of peepal and pilkhan trees have since been planted as part of compensatory afforestation. In its order dated Aug 14, the NGT stated: "We are of the opinion that the requisite action under the DPTA has been taken, and the compensatory plantation has been carried out. Guj man staying illegally in UK on fake Portuguese passport deported to Mumbai
Mumbai: A man from Rajkot, Priyankrai Savalia (42), was deported to Mumbai International Airport from London on Aug 13, and handed over to the Sahar police for residing illegally in London since 2019. UK authorities discovered he had been using a Portuguese passport obtained with fake documents and a false name. Police revealed that despite being blacklisted in the UK in 2018, Savalia had returned to the country the same year after travelling to Spain. Savalia initially travelled to London in 2015 on a student visa but remained in the UK beyond the two-year visa validity. "Savalia was caught during the search operation and scanning of citizens by the London police. They deported him back in 2018 to Mumbai for overstay. Later, he came back using emergency certificate but was permanently blacklisted from the country. However, Savalia claimed he was seeking opportunity to return," said a police officer of the Sahar police station. Despite being deported in 2018, Savalia managed to fly to Germany and then to Spain. NEW DELHI: Two BSF martyrs will be conferred Vir Chakra and 16 other personnel, police gallantry medals for having fought shoulder-to-shoulder with the armed forces during Operation Sindoor , successfully defending sensitive border posts in Jammu and Kashmir and destroying enemy posts and their surveillance equipment in firm retaliatory action. Both the Vir Chakra awardees -- late Sub-Inspector Mohd Imteyaj and late Constable Deepak Chingakham -- will be honoured for valiantly defending the highly-sensitive border outpost Kharkola in Jammu, which is barely 200 m from the international border, against intense shelling and drone attacks by the enemy. BSF troops led by post commander Imteyaj mounted a precise and resolute retaliation, inflicting heavy damages to the counterpart post and their gun positions. During the wee hours of May 10, Imteyaj spotted rogue drones intruding over Kharkola with an intent to drop explosive payloads or guide mortar fire, and tactically moved out from the bunker and reorganised his troops to successfully neutralise an enemy drone. ASI(GD) Rajappa B T and CT(GD) Manohar Xalxo undertook the risky mission to resupply ammunition but a mortar shell exploded near the magazine, grievously injuring Rajappa and wounding Xalxo's right hand. Still, both completed the task.
