Mexican wrestling sensation Mr. Iguana might be the latest name to shake up the WWE landscape after his recent crowd-popping appearances at WWE x AAA Worlds Collide and Money in the Bank 2025.
According to backstage reports, the colourful luchador has not only caught the attention of fans, but also WWE officials who are now reportedly working on ways to integrate him further into the company's programming - possibly through NXT.
Known for his flamboyant personality, playful in-ring antics, and his signature iguana puppet, Mr. Iguana made his WWE debut at the cross-promotional Worlds Collide event, teaming up with Aero Star and Octagon Jr.
The audience reception was nothing short of electric. So much so, WWE quickly brought him to Money in the Bank, where he was spotted in the crowd and received one of the loudest reactions of the night.
Sources from Fightful Select report that WWE higher-ups were 'pleasantly surprised' by Iguana's appeal, with one NXT insider calling his debut 'an unexpected win.' His energy, combined with a fan-friendly presence backstage, made him a popular figure among WWE Superstars too.

Wrestlers reportedly queued up for pictures with the AAA star, and he was described as 'a pleasure to work with.'
Merchandising moves already in motion
It isn't just in-ring appearances that WWE is eyeing. The company is also said to be exploring merchandising opportunities involving the reptilian-themed performer. Sales of Mr. Iguana merchandise - including newly released T-shirts, have reportedly been strong, performing nearly as well as the trending R-Truth apparel during the weekend of Money in the Bank.
Discussions are now underway to launch more unique items, including a line of Mr. Iguana puppets aimed at younger audiences. Triple H himself hinted at the marketing potential during the post-show press conference, saying, 'I never knew iguanas were so much fun… I think kids are gonna want iguanas everywhere.'
A return may be sooner than expected
Following his viral WWE debut and crowd cameo at Money in the Bank, Mr. Iguana may not be away from the spotlight for long.
WWE is reportedly exploring ways to integrate the AAA star into NXT programming, with discussions already underway for future appearances.
His mix of charisma, comedy, and crowd connection makes him a strong fit for WWE's international strategy - especially as NXT continues expanding its global talent base. Iguana's popularity backstage and online has only strengthened the case for more involvement.
The luchador himself teased a return on social media, thanking fans and hinting that 'this is just the beginning.' If the buzz continues, WWE could look to feature him not just as a novelty act, but as a regular, family-friendly presence in upcoming shows.
Triple H summed it up best: 'Iguanas might just be the next big thing.'

Katy Perry says Los Angeles belongs to Mexico; X users ask her to shut up, remind her she's an 'astronaut', not a historian

Pop star supported the Los Angeles riots and said illegal migrants are being hunted like criminals in their ancestral home while Los Angeles is basically a Mexican city. Social media users asked her to shut up and reminded her that he recent Blue Origin flight into the space makes her an 'astronaut' but not a historian. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now In a series of Instagram stories, Katy Perry shared what she felt about the riots and how a deep injustice is being done to the people who built the city. "Los Angeles has lived under three flags: Spain, Mexico, and the United States. That land has seen borders shift, power, change, hands, and yet the people, especially the brown and indigenous people, have always been there. Planting roots, building lives, raising families,' the message said. 'And now, in 2025 the descendants of those same communities are being hunted, like criminals and their own ancestral home. ' 'It's more than infuriating, it's a deep injustice. How can a city built on Mexican labor, Mexican history and Mexican culture turn around and criminalize the very people who shaped it?' the post added. 'This was once Mexican land, and the people being targeted today are often descendants of those who have lived here for generations, or who came seeking safety, work, and dignity,' the message said. 'Many undocumented immigrants are quietly holding up the economy with their labor, raising families, paying taxes, and contributing to communities, yet they are vilified and dignity.' "REMINDER: Katy Perry is an astronaut, not a historian," one post mockingly said. "@katyperry thinks Mexico and Spain are the same place.," another wrote. "A reminder that Hollywood airheads are just that. Clueless #KatyPerry, or her media flack, doesn't know that in 1781, there was no such thing as Mexico. It was New Spain (the Virreinato de Nueva España), part of the Spanish Empire," a third user said.

Nikki Bella confirms WWE return, hints at Liv Morgan feud ahead of Evolution 2

Image via WWE Former Divas Champion and WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella is officially back in the WWE spotlight. Making her first appearance on Monday Night Raw since the 2025 Women's Royal Rumble, Nikki was greeted with both cheers and chaos as her segment was interrupted - and cut short, by Women's Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan. Liv's surprise attack, capped off with her signature Oblivion finisher, seemed to signal the beginning of a potential high-profile feud heading into the all-women's Evolution 2 premium live event on July 13 in Atlanta. Instagram update confirms ongoing storyline Days after the ambush, Nikki addressed the moment in a social media post. 'This reality show diva is still on cloud nine 🤩 Annnnd still feeling that ObLIVion…,' she wrote, while confirming her next appearance will be on RAW in Green Bay this Monday. Nikki's return to in-ring action has generated buzz, especially considering her last televised singles match took place back in 2018 - at the first Evolution, when she faced Ronda Rousey in the main event. While the Liv Morgan face-off sets up a likely singles match, rumors suggest the storyline could take a different direction. With Liv currently holding tag team gold alongside Raquel Rodriguez, and the Bella Twins previously expressing interest in chasing the Women's Tag Team Championships, a tag team bout could be on the cards. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 임플란트, 지금 시작하세요 [자세히 보기] 임플란트 더 알아보기 Speculation is already swirling about a possible return for Brie Bella, Nikki's sister and longtime tag partner. Perez later responded on social media: 'Thanks for the congrats, didn't need it though @NikkiAndBrie 👑🥰 #QueenRox.' The brief mention has sparked speculation over a possible future storyline between Bella and Perez, especially with WWE focusing on merging its legends and new stars more fluidly. With Nikki confirmed for RAW next Monday in Green Bay, all signs point toward a heated build-up with Liv Morgan. The possibility of Brie Bella returning to even the odds also looms large, especially if tag team gold becomes part of the storyline. When is the WWE Draft 2025? Fans expect big changes after SummerSlam fallout

Image via WWE The 2025 WWE Draft may not be cancelled after all. While the annual roster shake-up traditionally follows WrestleMania in the spring, this year's edition appears to be headed for a strategic shift - possibly to September, according to multiple reports. Sources including and PWInsider suggest that WWE is considering moving the Draft to a post-SummerSlam window, aligning it with the company's season premiere episodes of RAW and SmackDown. This move would allow ongoing storylines to reach natural conclusions over the summer, while also setting the stage for a refreshed television product in the fall. Mike Johnson of PWInsider confirmed that the Draft hasn't been scrapped, saying it's simply a matter of 'where and when to do it.' The shift is reportedly part of WWE's broader strategy under Triple H's creative leadership, which has focused on long-term storytelling and smoother transitions between brands. Why WWE is holding off on the Draft The delay also appears to be influenced by recent NXT call-ups, many of whom are still finding their footing on the main roster. With WWE not in a rush to reshuffle its rosters, the focus has shifted to making sure these fresh faces get enough screen time before any major realignment occurs. Was R-Truth's Release a Work? Ilja Dragunov Return Update, Gunther's First Challenger & More Wrestling insider WrestleVotes echoed the sentiment in a Sportskeeda WrestleBinge Q&A, noting that 'they want to do it... just a date has not popped up yet.' The message is clear: WWE is still committed to a draft this year, but is carefully choosing its moment. Fans divided over format and timing Fan response on social media has been mixed. While some are relieved the Draft is still on, others have questioned its relevance. One user wrote, 'What's the point? Talent go all over the 3 brands all the time.' Another commented, 'Make sure people actually move brands this year. Last year barely anyone got drafted to a new brand.' Others are simply nostalgic for the days of the old Draft lottery machine, calling the current format 'bland.' However, there's also cautious optimism. 'Good. SmackDown needs it,' one fan posted, while another added, 'Better late than never.' If plans hold, the WWE Draft 2025 will follow SummerSlam in early August and land sometime in September, just in time for WWE's fall season reset. Until then, fans will be watching closely to see who stays, who goes - and who surprises everyone. Also Read: WWE Hall of Famer predicts Ron Killings could win World Championship
