Mexican wrestling sensation Mr. Iguana might be the latest name to shake up the WWE landscape after his recent crowd-popping appearances at WWE x AAA Worlds Collide and Money in the Bank 2025.
According to backstage reports, the colourful luchador has not only caught the attention of fans, but also WWE officials who are now reportedly working on ways to integrate him further into the company's programming - possibly through NXT.
Known for his flamboyant personality, playful in-ring antics, and his signature iguana puppet, Mr. Iguana made his WWE debut at the cross-promotional Worlds Collide event, teaming up with Aero Star and Octagon Jr.
The audience reception was nothing short of electric. So much so, WWE quickly brought him to Money in the Bank, where he was spotted in the crowd and received one of the loudest reactions of the night.
Sources from Fightful Select report that WWE higher-ups were 'pleasantly surprised' by Iguana's appeal, with one NXT insider calling his debut 'an unexpected win.' His energy, combined with a fan-friendly presence backstage, made him a popular figure among WWE Superstars too.

Wrestlers reportedly queued up for pictures with the AAA star, and he was described as 'a pleasure to work with.'
Merchandising moves already in motion
It isn't just in-ring appearances that WWE is eyeing. The company is also said to be exploring merchandising opportunities involving the reptilian-themed performer. Sales of Mr. Iguana merchandise - including newly released T-shirts, have reportedly been strong, performing nearly as well as the trending R-Truth apparel during the weekend of Money in the Bank.
Discussions are now underway to launch more unique items, including a line of Mr. Iguana puppets aimed at younger audiences. Triple H himself hinted at the marketing potential during the post-show press conference, saying, 'I never knew iguanas were so much fun… I think kids are gonna want iguanas everywhere.'
A return may be sooner than expected
Following his viral WWE debut and crowd cameo at Money in the Bank, Mr. Iguana may not be away from the spotlight for long.
WWE is reportedly exploring ways to integrate the AAA star into NXT programming, with discussions already underway for future appearances.
His mix of charisma, comedy, and crowd connection makes him a strong fit for WWE's international strategy - especially as NXT continues expanding its global talent base. Iguana's popularity backstage and online has only strengthened the case for more involvement.
The luchador himself teased a return on social media, thanking fans and hinting that 'this is just the beginning.' If the buzz continues, WWE could look to feature him not just as a novelty act, but as a regular, family-friendly presence in upcoming shows.
Triple H summed it up best: 'Iguanas might just be the next big thing.'

WWE Hall Of Famer Picks John Cena's Last Opponent: "Don't Want To..."

WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley believes that Bron Breakker should face John Cena in his farewell match. Cena announced at the start of 2025 that this will be his final year with WWE and since then, he has faced stalwarts like Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes and CM Punk. Cena will next take on Logan Paul at WWE Clash In Paris. Dudley said that he is not in favour of someone like Seth Rollins or Cody Rhodes face Cena in his final match. Instead, he wants to see someone like Breakker in the match as such a stage will elevate his star power and provide a solid boost to his career. 'Bron Breakker. I don't want to see Seth Rollins in there with John. I don't want to see Randy Orton in there with John. I don't want to see Cody,' Bubba Ray Dudley said on "Busted Open Radio" Podcast. 'I don't want to see any of that stuff. I want to see somebody that can benefit from this match … I'm sorry, I want to see somebody that can benefit from this moment. Because the entire thing is going to be about a moment. The match is going to be insignificant. The moment is going to be when the bell rings and you are standing across the ring from John Cena in his last match in Boston. That's the moment. You're also going to be the guy in the ring with John Cena when the finish happens,' he added. Cena opened up about his much-discussed 'heel turn' and how it did not go according to plan. Cena believes that his promos did not work initially with the fans and that led to the disconnect. The 17-time champion turned heel after attacking Cody Rhodes at WWE Elimination Chamber to leave the fans completely stunned. It was something that the fans have discussed for a long time but the execution over the next few weeks left them disappointed. Cena told an audience member at Fan Expo Chicago 2025 what he believed went wrong.
