Nazi leader Hermann Goering's £15m house for sale as property 'jewel' sparks outrage
Anti Nazi activists have attacked the sale of the £15m house of evil Nazi leader Hermann Goering after it was described as a 'property jewel'.
The way the seaside mansion, which once belonged to Hitler's right hand man, is being marketed has been described as 'disgusting' and 'outrageous.' The estate agent makes no mention of how the owner was one of the Holocaust's chief architects, and the man Hitler chose to be his successor. Instead the listing focuses on how Goering affectionately referred to this summer hideaway as 'Min Lütten' – German for 'My Little One'. The sale of Goering's house comes just days after the Mirror revealed some of his intimate letters were being auctioned.
Trade unionist and author Hans-Christian Lange who spearheaded the campaign for a Holocaust memorial in Berlin said: 'It is outrageous that a property that belonged to a man who did such evil - who was a chief architect of The Holocaust - is now just being presented as a lovely seaside property for the wealthy to just buy up and enjoy. We are seeing this again and it is deeply disgusting. Right now even have wealthy elites eying up luxury 'doomsday city' apartments being built within tunnels where the Nazis forced innocent prisoners to build V2 rockets at a Buchenwald sub-camp, in inhuman conditions.
'So whether it is the sale of Goering's letters or his mansion getaway, or building luxury apartment on the site of a former concentration camp, all this just desecrates the past and is a gross insult to the victims of the Holocaust.'
The thatched beach villa complex was built in 1937 in the northern resort of Sylt. The 200 square metre house has three bedrooms, three bathrooms and estate agents are gushing about the 'idyllic setting' and 'historic charm.'
And they wax lyrical on how the property has a quaint sun terrace where Goering enjoyed the relaxing view of the dunes as he sipped cocktails. Goering was one of the most powerful figures in the Nazi Party which governed Germany from 1933 to 1945. He also served as Supreme Commander of the Luftwaffe, a position he held until the final days of the regime.
After the war, Goering was convicted of war crimes, crimes against humanity, crimes against peace and conspiracy at the Nuremberg trials in 1946. He requested at trial an execution by firing squad, but was denied; instead he was sentenced to death by hanging. He committed suicide by taking a cyanide pill the night before his scheduled execution.

Now we have proof free speech is a joke in two-tier Britain
After Labour councillor Ricky Jones stood at a demonstration in Walthamstow decrying 'disgusting Nazi fascists' and telling a crowd through a microphone that 'we need to cut all their throats and get rid of them all', a jury of Mr Jones's peers cleared him of any offence. When Lucy Connolly – married to a Tory councillor – posted on social media 'set fire to all the f-----g hotels full of all the b------s for all I care… if that makes me racist so be it', she chose to plead guilty under apparent pressure from the state. Ms Connolly is currently serving a 31-month prison sentence, at times on a 23-hour lockdown confined to her cell with no privileges, for her ill-tempered words. Others, who stood their ground, walked free. The results were still unpleasant – the process is in part the punishment – but better than they might otherwise have been. It is hard not to feel that the difference between the two cases is less a matter of law than politics. Lucy Connolly was denied bail as Sir Keir Starmer and the judiciary worked on their 'shared understanding' that anyone expressing sentiments that could have encouraged last year's riots needed to be made an example of. Sir Keir himself told the nation that individuals would be held on remand. The Home Office openly risked prejudicing trials by labelling those arrested, charged but not yet convicted as 'criminals'. If there's a lesson here, it may well be that people can say stupid things without the world collapsing around them. And that the public – which did not visibly respond to either exhortation – can be trusted, for the most part, to recognise the distinction between genuinely threatening language and idiocy, both on the streets and in jury deliberations. Unlike our American cousins, British people have only a very qualified right to free speech. While the human rights system appears to go out of its way to undermine attempts to control borders or crack down on crime, protection of speech is heavily caveated. And the British state makes full use of these carve-outs in its attempt to maintain its fragile grip on the country it has built. Its most important aim is to prevent tensions between groups. Speech that might inflame them is subject to stringent oversight and exacting scrutiny by officials terrified of what might spiral out from a frank examination of the country as it is. People on the Left, however, can speak with relative security. The result, in the words of Reform's Zia Yusuf, appears to be 'a country in which those who have the correct 'regime' political views can openly call for their political opponents to be brutally murdered, be filmed doing so, and face no criminal consequences'.

Pensioner 'beaten to death' after shopkeepers accuse him of stealing chocolate bar
The 67-year-old was reportedly dumped by a roadside after allegedly being punched, kicked and hit with an iron rod. A pensioner has allegedly been brutally beaten to death by shopkeepers who accused him of stealing a chocolate bar. Dharmasena Cooray was reported to have been a regular at his local market in the city of Kandy in Sri Lanka, where the horror incident unfolded. The married 67-year-old had been shopping on August 5 when he was confronted by the owner of a small shop and another worker and accused of stealing. The shop workers are understood to have claimed to have evidence of the theft on CCTV before allegedly launching a brutal assault on the man, reports the Mirror. Police are reported to have said the two men allegedly dragged Cooray inside the shop before punching, kicking and hitting him with an iron rod. Cooray was then dumped by the roadside, according to the Express. The OAP is understood to have suffered severe injuries to his head and legs, with a passer-by stopping and rushing him to hospital. While undergoing treatment, he was able to give police a statement before succumbing to his injuries and dying on August 11. A post-mortem examination was carried out but could not determine the exact cause of death. Chief Inspector Vijitha Wijekoon, head of the crime branch in Peradeniya, said two suspects had been arrested and remain in police custody. The Telegraph reported that local resident Zahra Niyas said: 'It's heartbreaking that, instead of someone offering to pay for it or the shop owner letting the gentleman enjoy that small treat, he had to pay the ultimate price with his life. 'So sad to see that compassion and humanity seem to be fading away in our world today.' Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Another local, Lal Kumarasanga, said: 'Such a level of evil to beat a poor, defenceless old man to death over a chocolate. Let the justice system use the two idiots as examples. They deserve to rot in hell.' Neighbours said Cooray was surviving on a modest pension which had been hit hard by inflation since Sri Lanka's 2022 economic collapse. The crisis left the country unable to import essentials like fuel, food, and medicine.

I had sex with my brother - now I'm scared something will happen with my kids
A woman has shared a secret from her past in a letter- and admitted she's now too scared to leave her children alone together A mother-of-two has revealed a disturbing secret from her past, and admits it directly affects how she raises her own two children. The woman has disclosed that she had a sexual relationship with her brother when she was 17 and he was 18 - which she initiated. And now she is so concerned that 'history will repeat itself' she cannot bear to leave her young children alone together. The incest with her sibling started as 'naive, teenage experimentation' which developed into a sexual relationship, and continued until the woman moved out of home. In a letter to The Sun's agony aunt, she revealed they were both aware it was socially unacceptable and against the law, and felt ashamed of what occurred, reports the Mirror. "I can't explain it, except to say that we were brought up in a strictly religious household where sex was considered to be a sin," she said. "Neither of us was allowed to date or go out to parties and the like. We were also exceptionally close, perhaps because we were so near to each other in age, without many friends." The woman is now 39 and married with two children aged six and four, whilst her brother remains single. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Neither have ever told a soul about their secret - and whilst they are still in contact they do not discuss the past. The mum confessed that she didn't "dwell" on what occurred until her daughter became a toddler and began "interacting" with her brother. Now she's 'terrified' of what could happen between them, and keeps her kids apart, making them play alone in their rooms. She went on to reveal that her husband has begun to notice her behaviour and that she's worried she is damaging her children's normal development. The mum has desperately pleaded for help on what to do. In response, agony aunt Sally Land commended the woman for being courageous enough to admit what happened and to seek help. "You're not a bad person. Clearly you love your children and don't want to damage them. But, as you're aware, it's important they are allowed to interact normally," she wrote. "What occurred between you and your brother was unusual – though not unheard of – and it's very unlikely history will repeat itself, especially if your children aren't brought up in the strictly religious way you were. It sounds like you may be more traumatised by what happened – and more guilty about it – than you'd allowed yourself to believe." She then encouraged the woman to reach out to people who can help, suggesting she contact the NSPCC in confidence and try counselling to help her come to terms with her past.
