Orris Group & Engineering Data Systems (ED-S): Pioneering Smart Infrastructure with Data-Driven Engineering
New Delhi [India], June 24: The real estate sector is transforming quietly as developers increasingly turn to data-driven approaches to enhance construction quality, accelerate project timelines, and improve buyer experiences. Leading this charge in North India is Orris Group, which has implemented Engineering Data Systems (ED-S) across its projects to bring unprecedented precision and efficiency to home-building.
At Greenbay, a project by Orris Group and the flagship development along the Yamuna Expressway, ED-S technology is going to be implemented to optimize the processes. The system will collect and analyse real-time data from thousands of sensors embedded in at the site itself. This allows engineers to monitor concrete curing temperatures, structural load distribution, and even environmental factors affecting build quality. This will result in ascertaining the percentage reduction in construction timelines while simultaneously improving quality control metrics compared to conventional methods.
"ED-S is our bid to quicken the pace of construction, improving quality and ensuring timely delivery, Orris Group has adopted the data-driven approach in a big way. We are one of the pioneers in data adoption, have adopted ED-S or Engineering Data System to not only build smart homes but also improve buyers' experience," says Vishal Sabharwal, Sales Head - Orris Group.
What makes Orris Group's implementation of ED-S particularly noteworthy is how the technology enhances the buyer experience. Prospective homeowners will receive regular digital updates showing their unit's exact construction phase, complete with quality assurance data and 3D progress visualizations. This transparency represents a significant departure from the traditional real estate model, where buyers often remained in the dark about construction details until possession day.
The technology also plays a crucial role in creating smarter homes. Future projects of Orris Group will integrate ED-S with building management systems to optimize energy usage based on historical consumption patterns and weather data. It is anticipated that the residents will enjoy 15-20% reductions in electricity bills post the system's implementation. The same technology monitors structural health post-occupancy, alerting maintenance teams to potential issues before they become visible problems.
Market analysts note that Orris Group's early adoption of ED-S gives them a competitive edge in Delhi-NCR's crowded real estate market. In an era where buyers are increasingly tech-savvy and quality-conscious, this level of data transparency and construction precision is becoming a key differentiator.
However, implementing such sophisticated technology hasn't been without challenges. Orris had to invest significantly in training its workforce and recalibrating traditional construction processes. The transition required changing decades-old mindsets about how buildings get made. But the improvements in efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction will make it worthwhile.
As Orris prepares to implement ED-S across its entire project pipeline, the implications for the broader real estate market are becoming clear. The group's success demonstrates how data-driven construction can simultaneously benefit developers through efficiency gains and buyers through improved quality and transparency. With the real estate sector increasingly focused on execution quality and customer trust, Orris Group's ED-S implementation may well represent the future of responsible, tech-enabled development in India.

Probe Agency Raids Against Anil Ambani Firms Continue For Third Day: Report
Mumbai: Enforcement Directorate searches against the companies of Reliance Group chairman Anil Ambani in Mumbai continued for the third day on Saturday, with the agency recovering a number of documents and computer peripherals from multiple locations, official sources said. The raids were launched on Thursday by the federal probe agency as part of an alleged Rs 3,000 crore bank loan fraud-linked money laundering case, apart from multiple other allegations of financial irregularities with crores of rupees by certain companies. The searches, being conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), are continuing at some of the more than 35 premises that were covered in Mumbai since Thursday, the sources said. These premises belong to 50 companies and 25 people, including a number of executives of the Anil Ambani Group companies. ED sources had said the investigation primarily pertains to allegations of illegal loan diversion of around Rs 3,000 crore, given by the Yes Bank to the group companies of Anil Ambani between 2017-2019. Reliance Power and Reliance Infrastructure, two companies of the group, had on Thursday informed the stock exchanges saying while they acknowledge the action, the raids had "absolutely no impact" on their business operations, financial performance, shareholders, employees, or any other stakeholders. "The media reports appear to pertain to allegations concerning transactions of Reliance Communications Limited (RCOM) or Reliance Home Finance Limited (RHFL) which are over 10 years old," the companies had said. The ED, the sources had said, has found that just before the loan was granted, Yes Bank promoters "received" money in their concerns. The agency is investigating this nexus of "bribe" and the loan. The sources said the ED is also probing allegations of "gross violations" in Yes Bank loan approvals to these companies, including charges like back-dated credit approval memorandums, investments proposed without any due diligence/credit analysis in violation of banks credit policy. The loans are alleged to have been "diverted" to many group companies and "shell" (bogus) companies by the entities involved. The agency is also looking at some instances of loans given to entities with weak financials, lack of proper documentation of loans and due diligence, borrowers having common addresses and common directors in their companies etc., the sources said. The money laundering case stems from at least two CBI FIRs and reports shared by the National Housing Bank, SEBI, National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) and Bank of Baroda with the ED, they said. These reports indicate, the sources said, that there was a "well-planned and thought after scheme" to divert or siphon off public money by cheating banks, shareholders, investors and other public institutions. 'Fraud' Classification The Union government had informed the Parliament recently that the State Bank of India has classified RCOM along with Ambani as 'fraud' and was also in the process of lodging a complaint with the CBI. A bank loan "fraud" of more than Rs 1,050 crore between RCOM and Canara Bank is also under the scanner of the ED apart from some "undisclosed" foreign bank accounts and assets, the sources said. Reliance Mutual fund is also stated to have invested Rs 2,850 crore in AT-1 bonds and a "quid pro quo" is suspected here by the agency. Additional Tier 1 (AT-1) are perpetual bonds issued by banks to increase their capital base and they are riskier than traditional bonds having higher interest rates. An alleged loan fund diversion of about Rs 10,000 crore involving Reliance Infrastructure too is under the scanner of the agency. A Sebi report on RHFL is also part of the ED probe. The companies also said in their filings before the stock exchanges that Anil Ambani was not on the Board of either Reliance Power or Reliance Infrastructure and that they had no "business or financial linkage" to RCOM or RHFL. Any action taken against RCOM or RHFL, the companies said, has no bearing or impact on the governance, management, or operations of either Reliance Power or Reliance Infrastructure.

Enforcement agencies initiate action to nab accused in HSVP scam who fled to Canada
Chandigarh: In yet another attempt to apprehend more key players in the Rs 68 crore funds diversion scam of HSVP, the enforcement agencies, namely the Haryana Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (HVACB) and the Directorate of Enforcement, have initiated proceedings against a former manager of a nationalised bank and a businessman from Panchkula. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now While the anti-corruption bureau has initiated proceedings for the issuance of a lookout circular against Kulvir Singh and the businessman Sanjeev Bindal, the ED has simultaneously moved the special PMLA court for the issuance of open-ended non-bailable warrants against the accused. Sources informed that the move against the two accused comes after it was established that they escaped to Canada after the registration of the case by the Haryana police last year. According to information, Sanjeev Bindal and Kulveer Singh facilitated the main accused, the former senior accounts officer (SAO) of HSVP, Sunil Bansal, and Ram Niwas Surjakhera, the former MLA, and opened a secret bank account in the Manimajra branch of Punjab National Bank to transfer the amount of Rs 69 crore. From there, the funds were transferred into personal accounts maintained in various branches of a private bank, and the accused are believed to have withdrawn cash from there to procure their assets. "We are working in close coordination with the ED to ensure that each and every penny of govt funds is recovered and those involved are punished by the law of the land. We are in the advanced stage of the LOC process," said a senior official supervising the investigations in HVACB. In a related development, the PMLA court has also fixed Tuesday as the next date of hearing in an application moved by the defence counsel engaged by accused Sanjeev Bindal after the federal agency moved the application for open-ended warrants against him as well as Kulvir Singh. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now In another related development, the ACB has prepared a list of properties amassed and procured by Sunil Bansal, the main accused in the scam. The properties include residential bungalows in Panchkula, commercial space in the industrial area of Derabassi, and nearly a dozen residential flats in a newly carved-out multi-storey housing project in Derabassi. The cause of action dates back to March 2023 when the bureau registered the case into the alleged scam. Consequently, the ED also registered the enforcement complaint information report (ECIR) and arrested Sunil Bansal and Ram Niwas Surjakhera. Following this, the two agencies made six to eight more arrests.
