Dhanashree Verma on facing trolling after divorce from Yuzvendra Chahal; says she's ready for love again: ‘Putting others down has never been my way'

Indian Express02-06-2025
Actor and choreographer Dhanashree Verma has faced trolling and social media scrutiny following her divorce from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. While she has chosen to stay quiet amid the social media storm, in a recent interaction, she opened up about dealing with the backlash and how she is combating the false narrative by focusing on her work and presenting her best self to the public.
In a recent interaction with E Times, Dhanashree called the narratives circulating around her 'far from the truth.' She admitted that she doesn't clarify her stance because she is aware of her 'values and her upbringing.' She said, 'I've always believed in maintaining dignity and grace. Putting others down has never been my way, and it never helps anyone rise in life.'
Dhanashree insisted that she has been focused on her work and has always maintained good intentions. 'Self-growth, self-love, and discipline have always guided me,' she said. While she firmly believes in her values, Dhanashree is also confident that 'her truth will eventually speak for themselves.'
Dhanashree is slowly making a mark in the entertainment industry. She was recently seen in the song Ting Ling Sajna from Rajkummar Rao's film Bhool Chuk Maaf and will also make her Telugu debut with Akasam Daati Vastaava. Leaving the past behind, she revealed that her focus is on bagging bigger and better projects.

However, when quizzed about giving love another chance, Dhanashree admitted that she isn't averse to the idea but currently, her career takes priority. 'Pyaar ki baat karein, toh you can't plan these things… Aur agar naseeb mein achha likha hai (If it is written in my fate), then why not — who doesn't want love in life?'
Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma married in December 2020. The couple connected on social media during the pandemic and started dating before tying the knot. However, their relationship didn't last long, and they filed for divorce by mutual consent on February 5, 2025.

War 2 worldwide box office collection day 2: Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR film beats Kesari 2, Jaat lifetime; crosses ₹150 cr

War 2 worldwide box office collection: After a subpar opening day, Ayan Mukerji's War 2 has roared back at the box office, gaining momentum on the back of an impressive jump in the Hindi version. Even as the Telugu version saw an expected dip after a big opening, the Hindi version more than made up for that loss. A good showing overseas means that War 2 was able to cross ₹150 crore worldwide in two days, raising hopes of a decent lifetime run for the spy thriller. War 2 worldwide box office collection day 2: Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan headline the spy thriller. War 2 worldwide box office report War 2 is part of the YRF Spy Universe, and a direct sequel to Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's 2019 hit War. Hrithik reprised his role in War 2, with Jr NTR stepping in to make the film truly pan-India. War 2 earned ₹108 crore net in India in its first two days, with the gross collection close to ₹130 crore. Trade estimates say that the film has grossed over $4 million (in excess of ₹35 crore) in the overseas markets in two days, with the final numbers potentially higher. This puts War 2's two-day global haul at close to ₹165 crore, which enables it to enter the top 10 highest-grossing Hindi films of the year in just two days. On Friday, War 2 overtook the lifetime collections of Akshay Kumar's Kesari Chapter 2 ( ₹144 crore) and Sunny Deol's Jaat ( ₹119 crore). Over the weekend, the film should easily climb a few more spots in the list, and potentially enter the top 3, behind only Chhaava and Saiyaara. The road ahead for War 2 and YRF Spy Universe War 2 has earned ₹73 crore in Hindi net in India so far, with day 2 seeing a 50% jump in Hindi collections, due to the Independence Day holiday. If War 2 can sustain this momentum both at home and overseas, it should cross ₹400 crore globally before the end of its first week. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 also stars Kiara Advani and Ashutosh Rana in key roles. The film's post-credits scene introduces Bobby Deol, who sets up the franchise's next chapter - Alpha. The film stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, and will release in December this year.

Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR's War 2 mints over Rs 16 crore in in North America

War 2, starring Hritik Roshan and Jr NTR, had a good start in North America. The film earned USD 1.93 million by its second day. Rajinikanth's Coolie, however, is leading. Coolie earned USD 4.67 million in the same period. Coolie has surpassed Kabali's record. Both films are targeting different audiences. The overseas box office is seeing an exciting clash. The much-awaited War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan , Jr NTR , and Kiara Advani , has opened to a solid start at the North American box office. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the high-octane YRF Spy Universe entry registered USD 1.417 million on its first day, including Telugu collections of USD 605,000. The film had already built strong momentum with its premiere shows, raking in USD 925,000 (with Telugu contributing USD 500,000). By Day 2, till 9 a.m. IST, War 2 had added another USD 520,000, taking its cumulative to USD 1.93 million ( Rs 16.94 crore). This is an impressive debut for a Hindi-language action spectacle in North America, reaffirming Hrithik Roshan's overseas pull and Jr NTR's pan-India reach following RRR and Devara : Part 1. The Telugu version's contribution highlights the film's crossover appeal, aided by Jr NTR's global fan base. Kiara Advani's presence, coupled with Mukerji's stylish vision, has also made the film a hot ticket among younger audiences. However, comparisons with Rajinikanth 's Coolie which released on the same day are inevitable. Lokesh Kanagaraj 's directorial, headlined by the Superstar alongside Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir , Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, and Rachita Ram , stormed the North American box office with USD 3.04 million from premieres alone. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Benefits of Trading Bitcoin CFDs IC Markets Learn More Undo It followed this with USD 95,000 on Day 1 and USD 720,000 by Day 2 morning, taking its total to USD 4.67 million within just 48 hours. The comparison shows Coolie clearly ahead of War 2 in terms of North American box office pace. While War 2 touched USD 1,93 million by its second day morning, Coolie had already breached the USD 4.5 million mark in the same timeframe, even going on to surpass Kabali's nine-year-old record of USD 4.44 million lifetime. In comparison War 2 had more walk-ins over Coolie but Rajinikanth's film earned more as it had a heavy advance booking in place. Industry observers believe the two films cater to slightly different audiences. Coolie thrives on Rajinikanth's massive diaspora fanbase and Lokesh's cult following, particularly in Tamil-speaking regions, while War 2 is a Hindi-Telugu bilingual juggernaut backed by the strength of YRF's Spy Universe. The latter's box office legs will depend on how well it performs across both North Indian and South Indian diaspora markets. Ultimately, War 2 has delivered a strong opening, but Rajinikanth's Coolie still holds the crown for the biggest Tamil (and pan-Indian) storm at the North American box office this season. With both films in play, the overseas box office is witnessing one of its most exciting clashes in years.
