A 'McDonald's superfan' bride admits she was too full to eat her own wedding dinner - as she ditched her stunned guests to grab a Big Mac with her new hubby. Rosie Driscoll, 28, and Jacob Straffon, 29, were married in Hereford, on April 19 and decided to head to McDonald's for a bite to eat and some alone time together.
The couple's 90 guests were unaware they had snuck off for an 'untraditional wedding breakfast' during the reception drinks until they came back holding branded fast food cups half an hour later. While enjoying their Big Mac, chicken nuggets and fries, the pair decided to have a photoshoot despite 'strange looks' from other diners as they didn't want to only have 'really formal photos' from the day.
Putting a spin on tradition, the bride's favourite snap was of her looping her arm around her hubby's as they drank their Coca-Colas instead of champagne. Video footage shows the bride and groom walking into McDonald's dressed in their wedding attire and each ordering a meal before tucking in. Another clip shows the couple simultaneously taking a large bite from the burger.
However the bride admits that she and Jacob were 'so full' from their extra fast food that they were unable to eat the special wedding meal of a charcuterie meats, cheeses and fruits. Rosie, a graphic designer client executive who lives in Bristol, said: "We're the ultimate McDonald's superfans now. It was one of the stand-out memories just because it felt so bizarre.

"We were in our little wedding bubble and then to leave that to go to McDonald's which was obviously a very different environment was just quite surreal and funny. It was across the road from the venue where we got married. When we went to view the venue we were like 'oh my god, how iconic would it be if we went to McDonald's and had a photoshoot in there'.

"I had nuggets and fries and Jacob had a Big Mac and fries and we had a coke as well. It's an untraditional wedding breakfast. We got a few strange looks from people around us but everyone was really lovely and congratulated us. We got quite a lot of attention which was quite funny.
"We absolutely love the photos. We did the really cringey photos where you link arms and drink champagne but with our coke instead and we 'cheers'-ed our chips. We went into a couple of different parts of the store and the poor photographers were climbing over chairs and tables."

The couple revealed their 90 guests were confused as to their whereabouts but re-joined them during the drinks reception at 3:30pm before tucking into a charcuterie board later. Rosie said: "There was a bit of a rumour that we were going to McDonald's but we came back with our cokes and everyone was like 'no way you went to Maccie's'. People found it quite funny. It's very us to do something like that.
"It was really nice to carve out some time for just the two of us as it can be a chaotic day and also to do something quite untraditional. We didn't want to have loads of really formal photos so it was really lovely that we've got some fun photos. We then had a very different meal of a charcuterie of meats, cheeses and fruits which neither of us could really eat as we were so full of McDonald's."
The pair, who have been together for five years and first met at University, revealed they 'absolutely love' the fast food chain and visit regularly. Rosie said: "We absolutely love McDonald's and go as much as we can but we haven't been for months as we've been trying to squeeze into our wedding outfits. We do especially love a McDonalds breakfast. I would recommend doing something a bit quirky and different for your wedding day. It was quite a nice talking point to do that."

McDonald's Snack Wrap is officially returning. Here's when.
Snacktime is nigh at the Golden Arches. On June 3, McDonald's announced exactly when the Snack Wrap will return to partipating restaurants nationwide: July 10. And, thankfully, it's not a limited-time offer, either — it's here for good. The Snack Wrap, which has been off menus for almost a decade, features one of the chain's new McCrispy Strips — a chicken strip made with all-white meat — and is topped with shredded lettuce and shredded cheese, wrapped in a flour tortilla. This go-round, the Snack Wrap comes in two flavors: Spicy, which McDonald's says 'brings the heat with a habanero kick' reminiscent of its Spicy McCrispy sandwich; and Ranch, which 'delivers a satisfying burst of cool ranch goodness,' according to the brand, along with hints of garlic and onion. Customers can get the Snack Wrap on its own or as a combo meal, which will come with two wraps, a medium fries and your drink of choice. It's been a long journey for Mickey D's devotees: On Dec. 5, Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald's USA, first revealed that the Snack Wrap was on its way back while discussing the new McValue menu. 'The Snack Wrap will be back in 2025,' Erlinger said at the time, declining to reveal the exact date. 'It has a cult following, I get so many emails into my inbox about this product.' Then, on April 15, the chain teased the official release date: 'snack wraps 0x.14.2025,' it posted on X, without specifying the month. Now, for the official rollout, McDonald's is leaning into the fact that for years, fans have inundated the chain with pleas to reinstate the item after it was kicked off menus in 2016. A petition started in 2021 in its honor garnered over 17,000 signatures, and fans resorted to posting TikToks and making dedicated Instagram accounts devoted to bringing it back. While the chicken-craving masses waited for the Snack Wrap's return, other fast-food chains have dropped their own versions: In March 2023, Wendy's introduced its Grilled Chicken Ranch Wrap; in July 2023, Taco Bell reintroduced its Crispy Chicken Taco for a limited time; and in August 2023, Burger King launched BK Royal Crispy Wraps for a limited time, too.

When I was waiting around the corner I had already started tearing up and when the music started I thought 'Oh God, can I keep it in.' "You spend a fortune having your makeup done and you get worried I don't want to ruin my makeup. I would have preferred to deal with that than look like that the entire time. My biggest worry was about how I looked, that's why I was so anxious leading up to it, thinking, 'am I going to like my hair, am I going to like my makeup?' "I told myself not to cry which made it look like I was holding in a sneeze. They were horrendous, I didn't think they'd look that bad. It happened so fast and everything was so full of emotion, so when I saw the photos I thought 'Oh God, what did everyone else see me look like.' "I thought I would just look like I was crying a little bit but not like that. I was a bit gutted thinking I can't use any of these, I'm too embarrassed about my face, I wasn't going to post them or have them printed. I don't really cry over sad things, I cry more over happy things. Like when you're watching a film and there's a happy ending. During our own vows, I couldn't hold it in then, but it was a peaceful cry." The master's student said she cried multiple times after that and that it was a very emotional day. Leyonie is now warning future brides to let themselves cry freely instead of holding in their tears. Leyonie said: "I cried on and off the whole day really, in the evening, during the speeches, it was very emotional. I'd say, don't try to stop yourself from being emotional. If you feel like crying, let yourself cry. "There are some photos where I am crying and I quite like those because I look normal. Don't try to stop yourself because you will have weird faces like mine. "It was the best day of my life. I would have preferred to look nicer walking down the aisle, but I have lots of other beautiful pictures. I wish I could go back and change it a little bit just to take it in a bit more." Leyonie shared her experience online, with commenters sympathising and relating to the bride's experience. One commenter said: "Yep, I held in ugly cries all the way down the aisle too, those photos man. Your photos are beautiful though, you look absolutely stunning!" McDonald's unveils bold new burger that's ‘even better than a Big Mac'

Yes, it might be petty, but for too long we've had to watch as fast food fans across the pond enjoyed things that we could only dream of ordering like McGriddles and Frozen Coca-Cola. And even though they still have breakfast bagels and we don't, us Brits can have the last laugh as McDonald's UK has just announced that a brand new menu item is coming – one that's not available in the States yet. Known as The Big Arch, the beast of a burger has been hailed as having 'maximum McDonald's flavour' and is even bigger and wider in size than the iconic Big Mac, featuring not one but two Quarter Pounder beef patties. It's already available in several countries including Canada, France and Portugal and will be joining the menu in the UK from June 18. And what's even more exciting is that once it arrives it'll be here to stay as a permanent menu item. The new menu item has its own exclusive sauce (Picture: McDonald's) What's in the new McDonald's Big Arch burger? The star of the show with this burger is the Big Arch sauce, which features McDonald's ketchup, mustard and pickle juice. There's also some pepper in there and a few other ingredients, though the others are being kept top secret. The signature sauce is squeezed over the top and bottom halves of a new toasted sesame and poppy seed bun, which is then loaded with crispy onions on one side and slivered raw onions on the other, before shredded lettuce and pickles are added too. A slice of white cheddar and a Quarter Pounder patty is placed on each half, with one side being topped with a third and final slice of cheese. This sandwiches nicely between the two beef patties as the box is closed and the two sides of the burger come together to create the Big Arch. Thomas O'Neill, head of menu at McDonald's UK and Ireland claims the new burger is one of the 'biggest things [McDonald's] will launch in a generation'. He said: 'The Big Arch is going to take us into the next level of great beef burgers. 'It's designed to do two things, it's designed to satisfy big McDonald's hunger like nothing else on our menu and it's also designed to taste amazing. 'A new iconic burger needs an equally iconic sauce. The sauce is brand new, it's designed to look and taste and feel like McDonald's. If you close your eyes and try this product, it couldn't be from anybody else but us. 'It's big, bold, and packed with serious deliciousness.' I headed down to McDonald's HQ in East Finchley for an exclusive first try of the Big Arch and it didn't disappoint. Dare I say it, I actually think it's better than a Big Mac. For me, the flavours are more interesting. As Thomas said, the sauce is so quintessentially McDonald's in flavour. The combination of the slightly sweet ketchup, tangy pickle juice and punchy mustard is comfortingly familiar and yet somehow manages to taste new at the same time. I'm going to need them to bottle and sell this immediately, or at the very least let me order a pot of it to dunk my fries into. The Quarter Pounder patties give the whole thing a very meaty flavour, which is stronger than what you'd get with standard McDonald's burgers, and there's a very satisfying crunch from the crispy onions that elevates the overall eating experience. If I had to give it a rating out of 10, I'd give it a nine. I'm a big fan of it as far as McDonald's burgers go, but it doesn't get full marks as there's one big issue with it… it's incredibly messy. She rated it a 9/10 (Picture: Courtney Pochin) Getting it into the box was a challenge for staff and getting it out was just as difficult for me. Things took a turn for the worse when I tried to actually eat it as there's so much sauce inside, everything slips and slides about on the bun as you take a bite. I fashioned a bib out of napkins, but still ended up with dollops of sauce, bits of lettuce and onions all over me. Eventually, I gave in and asked for a knife and fork. It felt completely and utterly wrong, but it did make a world of difference. Let it be known that this certainly isn't something you'll want to grab at the drive-thru and eat in your car in a hurry. But even if you do end up wearing most of it, you certainly won't go hungry. It's so big, I only managed to finish half of it. For times when you're feeling ravenous and a Big Mac or a Double Cheeseburger just won't cut it, the Big Arch definitely will. Do you have a story to share?
