McDonald's Snack Wrap is officially returning. Here's when.

NBC News03-06-2025
Snacktime is nigh at the Golden Arches.
On June 3, McDonald's announced exactly when the Snack Wrap will return to partipating restaurants nationwide: July 10. And, thankfully, it's not a limited-time offer, either — it's here for good.
The Snack Wrap, which has been off menus for almost a decade, features one of the chain's new McCrispy Strips — a chicken strip made with all-white meat — and is topped with shredded lettuce and shredded cheese, wrapped in a flour tortilla.
This go-round, the Snack Wrap comes in two flavors: Spicy, which McDonald's says 'brings the heat with a habanero kick' reminiscent of its Spicy McCrispy sandwich; and Ranch, which 'delivers a satisfying burst of cool ranch goodness,' according to the brand, along with hints of garlic and onion.
Customers can get the Snack Wrap on its own or as a combo meal, which will come with two wraps, a medium fries and your drink of choice.
It's been a long journey for Mickey D's devotees: On Dec. 5, Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald's USA, first revealed that the Snack Wrap was on its way back while discussing the new McValue menu.
'The Snack Wrap will be back in 2025,' Erlinger said at the time, declining to reveal the exact date. 'It has a cult following, I get so many emails into my inbox about this product.'
Then, on April 15, the chain teased the official release date: 'snack wraps 0x.14.2025,' it posted on X, without specifying the month.
Now, for the official rollout, McDonald's is leaning into the fact that for years, fans have inundated the chain with pleas to reinstate the item after it was kicked off menus in 2016. A Change.org petition started in 2021 in its honor garnered over 17,000 signatures, and fans resorted to posting TikToks and making dedicated Instagram accounts devoted to bringing it back.
While the chicken-craving masses waited for the Snack Wrap's return, other fast-food chains have dropped their own versions: In March 2023, Wendy's introduced its Grilled Chicken Ranch Wrap; in July 2023, Taco Bell reintroduced its Crispy Chicken Taco for a limited time; and in August 2023, Burger King launched BK Royal Crispy Wraps for a limited time, too.

Fringe benefit of visiting Edinburgh is talking rubbish

Yup… the Fringe is here. Diary correspondent Alan Boyd and his wife were in the queue for a show, and after enjoying a last mouthful of tangy beer, Alan found himself with an empty plastic beaker. 'You'd better find a bin to put that in,' advised his wife. Glancing round, he couldn't spot one, so went over to the nearest brightly-dressed queue-wrangler. 'Rubbish bin?' he asked. Without hesitation, iPad at the ready, she shot back: 'Sure. Do you know which venue it's in?' Radio daze A culinary confession. Gordon Fisher from Stewarton was listening to The Food Programme on Radio 4, hosted by Dan Saladino, and was a little disappointed that Dan was talking about the merits of Welsh lamb, and was not telling the listeners about recipes for lettucino, tomatino and cucumberino. Marvelous Mac More from the world of munch. Glasgow is a cosmopolitan city, packed with exciting places to scoff scrummy scran. Reader Don Murdoch overheard two chaps talking on a south side bus. They were clearly gourmands of high standing, because one pointed out the window, and said to the other: 'See that McDonald's o'er there? Best in toon.' This clearly impressed his chum, who immediately replied: 'Zat right? So has it got pure hunners o' those Micheloon star hingmies?' Phoney friendship A tale of telephonic tittle-tattle. Finlay Buchanan from Edinburgh had a good pal named Francis Lee. 'Every time I phoned him,' says Finlay, 'I hoped that I would receive the answer 'Frank Lee speaking', so that I could triumphantly reply, 'My dear, I don't give a damn!' Sadly he never fell into my trap.' Egged on by Diary A narrative in this column about eggs emboldened David Hay from Minard to visit his local shop and ask for a dozen of their 'range' eggs which are described as 'free'. Adds our disappointed correspondent: 'All I got was shrift which could be described as short!' Loopy lingo The Diary has pointed out on numerous occasions that English is more of a trap than a language, constructed to ensnare the unwary within its grammatical mazes and spelling cages. Oliver Green says: 'I hate when I read read as read and not read, so I have to re-read read as read so I can read read correctly.'

Tom Kerridge says one high street restaurant is his favourite for two reasons

Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge has admitted that he avoids most high street chain restaurants - but there's one in particular he has a soft spot for after a 'funny date night' with his wife Celebrated chef Tom Kerridge has confessed to having a soft spot for the high street chain Nando's, despite generally steering clear of most chains. ‌ On Russell Howard's podcast 'Russell Howard's Five Brilliant Things', the culinary star revealed his unexpected preference for the well-known fast food joint. ‌ Tom remarked: "To be honest, no. I try to avoid them. If you've got restaurants, you want to eat in them, you normally go there. If you mean like McDonald's and KFC I never, I don't have them. I don't mind a Nando's though I got to be honest. Nando's is alright." ‌ Tom added: "It's a bit of a funny date night for me and my wife. So we've got a young son, he's nine, so if we get a night out and we live in Marlow. "We got a posh Everyman (a cinema chain) open in Marlow, but before that there was the ones up in High Wickham and we would go for a cheeky Nando's and then a movie. That was a date night out, yeah, Nando's High Wycombe." ‌ The 52-year-old chef highlighted another perk of dining at Nando's, beyond its suitability for a relaxed family evening. He added: "That's the beautiful thing. You go to Nandos no-one knows who you are, no-one cares. It doesn't matter. They're not looking at who are the Michelin-starred chefs in Nandos. No-one knows who you are, that's what I like about a Nando's." In addition to his views on casual dining, Tom has been vocal about the significant challenges currently facing the hospitality sector, reports Gloucestershire Live. ‌ Amid the cost-of-living crisis, there's also been a surge in energy prices, leading to venues hiking their fees and inadvertently fuelling a cost-of-socialising crisis. In these tough times, restaurateurs like Tom are caught between a rock and a hard place, striving to serve top-notch food at fair prices while remembering they've got a business to sustain and staff grappling with the same financial pressures. Earlier this year, he expressed his deep appreciation for his team, calling them the lifeblood of his enterprise. Chatting with the Guardian, he referred to his establishment as a "socialist space" where everyone's role is crucial. He elaborated: "A pot washer, that's the beating heart, that's the engineering, because a chef can't work without pans. Housekeeping is vital ... because if they forget to make a bedroom up and a guest walks into a messy room, that now puts a huge amount of pressure on the rest of the business because we have to look after those guests in a completely new way." Catch episode three of Tom Kerridge Cooks Spain on ITV tonight (Thursday, August 8) at 8.30pm.
