McDonald's Snack Wrap is officially returning. Here's when.
Snacktime is nigh at the Golden Arches. On June 3, McDonald's announced exactly when the Snack Wrap will return to partipating restaurants nationwide: July 10. And, thankfully, it's not a limited-time offer, either — it's here for good. The Snack Wrap, which has been off menus for almost a decade, features one of the chain's new McCrispy Strips — a chicken strip made with all-white meat — and is topped with shredded lettuce and shredded cheese, wrapped in a flour tortilla. This go-round, the Snack Wrap comes in two flavors: Spicy, which McDonald's says 'brings the heat with a habanero kick' reminiscent of its Spicy McCrispy sandwich; and Ranch, which 'delivers a satisfying burst of cool ranch goodness,' according to the brand, along with hints of garlic and onion. Customers can get the Snack Wrap on its own or as a combo meal, which will come with two wraps, a medium fries and your drink of choice. It's been a long journey for Mickey D's devotees: On Dec. 5, Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald's USA, first revealed that the Snack Wrap was on its way back while discussing the new McValue menu. 'The Snack Wrap will be back in 2025,' Erlinger said at the time, declining to reveal the exact date. 'It has a cult following, I get so many emails into my inbox about this product.' Then, on April 15, the chain teased the official release date: 'snack wraps 0x.14.2025,' it posted on X, without specifying the month. Now, for the official rollout, McDonald's is leaning into the fact that for years, fans have inundated the chain with pleas to reinstate the item after it was kicked off menus in 2016. A petition started in 2021 in its honor garnered over 17,000 signatures, and fans resorted to posting TikToks and making dedicated Instagram accounts devoted to bringing it back. While the chicken-craving masses waited for the Snack Wrap's return, other fast-food chains have dropped their own versions: In March 2023, Wendy's introduced its Grilled Chicken Ranch Wrap; in July 2023, Taco Bell reintroduced its Crispy Chicken Taco for a limited time; and in August 2023, Burger King launched BK Royal Crispy Wraps for a limited time, too.

McDonald's launches ‘top-tier' new McFlurry flavor to celebrate dessert's 30th anniversary — but there's a catch
McDonald's is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the McFlurry with a brand-new flavor. The Birthday Cake McFlurry, made with creamy vanilla soft serve and blended with frosted cake-flavored confetti cookie dough pieces and birthday cake-flavored syrup, has landed in stores — but there's a catch. Given that the confection was originally created in Canada, the special-edition flavor is not available in America. 'Yes … I know you're shocked, but McDonald's has given Canada yet another amazing McFlurry flavor as we sit with the two that we always get,' food blog Snackolator quipped. The American Instagrammer lamented that Canadian Mickey D's had an Apple Cake McFlurry tied to 'A Minecraft Movie' as well as a 'Cadbury Egg McFlurry just in the last month … Just throwing that out there,' they snarked. Though it's disappointing that McDonald's locations in America won't be getting 'one of the best new flavors,' it's no surprise given the origins of the McFlurry. The beloved treat was created by a Canadian McDonald's franchisee named Ron McLellan in Bathurst, New Brunswick, in 1995. According to a McDonald's fan page, the original McFlurry flavors included Oreo, Nestlé Crunch, M&M's and Butterfinger, and the shake menu has since expanded to over 20 flavors worldwide. As of now, there are no talks of the Birthday Cake McFlurry moving to the US anytime soon — but Delish noted that the fast-food franchise has a history of bringing Canadian menu items to America, so it's not entirely out of the question. Canadian McDonald's fans can't wait to get their hands on the newest addition to the menu. 'Wait this might actually change my life,' one comment read. 'This is a sweet way to celebrate,' another wrote. 'I had it. Definitely a top-tier flavor,' another lucky customer noted.

McDonald's Is Bringing Back My Favorite Discontinued Menu Item—and Making It Permanent
Oh, be still my McDonald's-loving heart. We may have thought it was too good to be true—or that Mickey D's was playing a sick joke on us—but the road to the Snack Wrap's return has never been clearer. On April 15, McDonald's cryptically teased that its long-awaited Snack Wrap would return on 0x.14.2025. Unfortunately, we haven't received any word on what that crucial missing number is—though many fans are speculating that it could be as early as May 14—but Mickey D's key Snack Wrap ingredient is officially returning to menus. McDonald's is finally bringing back its chicken strips—and, honestly, I'm more excited about this return than the actual Snack Wrap. Years ago, McDonald's sold crunchy, crispy, juicy Chicken Selects as both a main dish and the chicken used in the Snack Wrap. However, despite the Chicken Selects being my go-to order, the tenders were axed from McDonald's menus in the late 2010s (though they're still available in the UK), along with the Snack Wrap. Now, McDonald's is reviving its chicken tender offering, but in a new, reimagined way with its McCrispy Strips. In an earnings call earlier this year, McDonald's promised to bring a 'new chicken strip offering' to menus ahead of the Snack Wrap's return. What we didn't anticipate, but you'll likely be excited to know, is that the McCrispy Strips are debuting as a permanent menu item—in fact, they're Mickey D's first permanent menu item launch in more than four years. We can't promise that means the Snack Wraps are coming back for good, but with crispy chicken strips on menus at all times, at least the ingredients are available at the Golden Arches' disposal. McDonald's new McCrispy Strips are made with 100% white meat and coated with a golden-brown breading and new black pepper-seasoned flavor. The new McCrispy Strips look a little bit different from the ultra-crunchy Chicken Selects. They seem more on par with the sandwich of the same name, the McCrispy. But, Chicken Select lovers, don't fear, Instagram user @snackolator tried the new McCrispy Strips during a menu test and said they're 'seasoned similar to the Chicken Selects even though the breading isn't as thick.' I'll take that as a win. The new McCrispy Strips will join McDonald's menus, alongside a new dipping sauce called Creamy Chili Dip. The chain describes the new sauce as 'savory, slightly tangy, sweet with a hint of chili pepper heat and a nutty toasted sesame finish,' which sounds pretty unique compared to the other dippers on the menu. McDonald's new McCrispy Strips will hit menus nationwide by May 5 (though some locations may have them sooner) in a three- and four-count order—and I can already guarantee I'll be the first person in line as soon as the clock strikes 10:30 a.m. Read the original article on ALLRECIPES

Chili's Has a New Burger That's Bigger (and Cheaper) Than McDonald's Quarter Pounder
Ok, we'll say it: We love fast food drama. Yes, we live for a sassy social media account clapping back at one of its competitors, but what we really appreciate is when the drama—or war, if you will—benefits us. Popeyes practically broke the internet when it launched its chicken sandwich, which has led to many iterations of the tasty, crispy menu item. McDonald's can't seem to get its Snack Wrap back on menus, but brands like Wendy's, Burger King, and KFC sure can. Recently, the chains' competitiveness has gone beyond delicious offerings and into a new category we care about just as much as taste: value. With inflation and upset customers, fast food chains have been racing to put meal deals and value offerings back on menus. As chains try to get you back to the drive-thru, some casual dining restaurants are capitalizing on customers' cravings for good yet inexpensive food. In 2024, Chili's introduced its '3 For Me' meal deal, which included a burger and fries, bottomless chips and salsa appetizer, and a fountain drink, all for just $10.99. Even better—Chili's introduced its meal deal with a Big Smasher burger, which took aim at McDonald's classic Big Mac burger. Chili's Big Smasher burger features twice as much beef as a Big Mac, topped with American cheese, Thousand Island dressing, diced red onions, lettuce, and pickles, all on a hand-buttered bun. After the Big Smasher's success, the restaurant chain has decided it's not done poking fun at Mickey D's. So, this week, it's adding an all-new quarter-pound burger to its 3 For Me menu—and, you guessed it, it's pretty similar to McDonald's Quarter Pounder with Cheese. Chili's is releasing its new Big QP burger, which is even bigger (and cheaper) than a McDonald's Quarter Pounder with Cheese. Chili's burger features a 7.5-ounce precooked patty, while McDonald's burger is only 4 ounces precooked. The Big QP includes two slices of American cheese, mustard, ketchup, pickles, and diced onions atop a patty that's 85% beefier than McDonald's. As part of the 3 For Me meal, you'll receive bottomless chips and salsa, unlimited fountain drink refills, and a side of fries, all for just $10.99. And, we don't know about you, but we can barely find a large Quarter Pounder meal for $10.99 at the Golden Arches nowadays. Beginning April 15, you'll be able to order the Big QP or Big Smasher burgers as part of your 3 For Me meal at all Chili's restaurants nationwide. Now, all Chili's needs to do is start selling breakfast and we'll never have to hit a drive-thru again. Read the original article on ALLRECIPES
