Terror suspects interrogated
Vizianagaram: The Vizianagaram police initiated interrogation of two terror suspects Siraj and Sameer in connection with their procurement of explosive material and their plan to execute blasts in Andhra Pradesh. The police got custody of the two accused for interrogation after a court in Vizianagaram was granted by the court on Thursday for one week.
Siraj and Syed Sammer have been booked under UAPA (Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosives Act and various sections under BNS. Though the police requested a ten-day custody period for interrogation, after two days of legal arguments the court on Thursday night granted seven-day custody with strict conditions.
On Friday morning, the Vizianagaram police reached central prison in Vizag city, where the accused were lodged on judicial remand on May 18. The police brought them to the Police Training College in Vizianagaram, where they were questioned. Vizianagaram police primary investigation revealed that Siraj was attracted towards extremism, and met like-minded youngsters like Sameer through social media platforms.

Woman lodges complaint after being cheated on marriage pretext
Nagpur: A woman in her 20s filed a complaint at Kotwali police station, alleging that she was exploited after being misled with a false promise of marriage. Police sources said this is not the first time the issue was raised. The woman, a resident of Mahal, along with her parents, had earlier too approached the police. However, she fell for the man's explanations and chose not to pursue the complaint, hoping he would marry her. Later, the woman became pregnant and gave birth to a child. After the birth, the man allegedly began distancing himself & refused to marry her. Feeling betrayed, the woman filed a complaint. Based on her statement, police registered a case under relevant sections of BNS.

Kanhan cops bust sand smuggling ring of 1.31 crore, 4 arrested
Nagpur: Kanhan police dismantled an illegal sand smuggling network, seizing four trucks and arresting four drivers in a bust valued at a staggering Rs1.31 crore. IMC files FIR against man for comments on social media
Indore: Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) on Thursday filed a First Information Report (FIR) against an individual for allegedly making 'abusive comments' and creating a reel on Instagram that 'damaged the image' of the civic body. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The accused was identified as Vivek, son of Ram Bahadur, a resident of 637/8 Nehru Nagar. The FIR was registered at the MIG police station under section 296 of BNS. The action was initiated under the directives of IMC commissioner Shivam Verma. According to the additional commissioner Lata Agrawal, IMC, in collaboration with the traffic police administration, conducted a joint operation to address illegal parking on both sides of the road from LIG Chouraha to Pardesipura Kalash Chouraha. The aim was to ensure smooth traffic flow on this particular stretch. During this operation, Vivek, using his Instagram ID, allegedly created a reel containing 'abusive comments' against the IMC's actions and used offensive language towards the municipal administration. Following this incident, and acting on Verma's instructions, Agrawal filed the FIR against the accused at the MIG police station.
