Additional District Magistrate Vinita Singh said, at noon on Friday, the Yamuna's water level in the district was 82.77 metres in Naini, while Ganga's level was 82.16 metres in Phaphamau, 81.84 metres in Chhatnag and 82.50 metres at Bakshi Dam.

A total of 3,000 sanitation workers have been deployed in the flood-affected areas, while 600 additional employees have been assigned to partially affected areas. Another 200 sanitation workers from the District Public Relations Office have also been deployed.
Yadav said that in the areas from where the flood water has receded, silt is being removed by installing water pressure machines.
Pesticides are being sprayed in affected areas, and drones, sourced from the Agriculture Department, are being used to spray where ground access is difficult.
Pratik Vishwakarma, who is preparing for competitive examinations in the flood-affected Salori area of Sadar, said that there has been some relief due to the flood receding, but it may take several days for the entire area to be cleaned as dirt has spread in the streets.
Singh said that since last Saturday, over 200 villages of the district and about 60 settlements of the city have been flooded due to the water level of the Ganga and Yamuna remaining above the danger mark. But now people are feeling relieved as the water level has come down, the ADM added.
She further said that 107 wards and localities under Sadar tehsil in the city were affected by the floods, of which Rajapur, Beli Kachhar, Chandpur Salori, Govindpur, Chhota Baghada and Bada Baghada were the main affected.
Last Sunday, UP cabinet minister Nand Gopal Gupta and the next day Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya visited the affected areas and directed the officials to provide relief material to the flood-affected people.

He enquired about the condition of the flood victims living in Ram Janaki Temple, Dhelvariya, Savitri Lawn, Saraiya, Shailputri Temple and Mauja Hall Chitrakoot School and assured them that the government and he would stand with them in this hour of disaster.

'In rural parts of the district, officials of panchayati raj department have been directed to ensure proper cleaning of affected villages besides spraying of bleaching powder and other disinfectants,' he added. At 12noon on Sunday, the Yamuna was measured flowing at 81.04 metres in Naini, while the water level of the Ganga in Phaphamau was recorded at 81.62 metres and at Chatnag it was 80.40 metres as against the danger mark of 84.73 metres. Meanwhile, no casualty has been reported in the district due to the floods in the past 10 days during which around 9,470 people from 2,220 families had taken shelter in 27 flood relief camps set up by district administration in eight tehsils. Nearly 1.5 lakh food packets were distributed in the relief camps. Besides, 5,145 dry ration kits were also distributed to people. A total of 350 boats were made operational for evacuation and supplying commodities to people stuck in their homes. The four affected localities in the city include Kachaar Mau/Saraiya, Beli Kachaar, Shivkuti, Bakshi Kachaar besides four affected villages of Phulpur tehsil namely Sonauti, Bhadra, Dhokri and Bhadkar. According to executive engineer, irrigation, RK Singh, in view of rising water level of both the Ganga and the Yamuna in other districts of state, the water level of both the rivers could rise again in the next couple of days.

Shimla, Aug 10 (PTI) The MeT office on Sunday issued an orange warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh for four days, from Monday to Thursday. According to the MeT Centre in Shimla, light to moderate rainfall continued to lash parts of the state. Kangra received 68.4 mm of rain since Saturday night, followed by Murari Devi (52.6 mm), Palampur (52 mm), Sarahan (25 mm), Jubbarhatti (17 mm), Dharamshala (16.8 mm), Pandoh and Bajura (11.5 mm each), Kufri (11.2 mm), Bilaspur (10.4 mm), and Kasauli (10 mm). A total of 360 roads, including the Aut-Sainj road, part of NH-305, were closed for vehicular traffic. Of these, 214 were blocked in Mandi district and 92 in the adjoining Kullu district on Sunday, according to the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC). So far, 112 people have died in rain-related incidents this monsoon, while 37 remain missing. In addition, 145 power transformers and 520 water supply schemes have been affected, the SEOC said. Since the onset of the monsoon on June 20, Himachal Pradesh has reported losses amounting to Rs 1,988 crore. The state has witnessed 58 flash floods, 30 cloudbursts, and 53 major landslides so far. During the ongoing monsoon season, the state has received 507.3 mm of rainfall against a normal of 445.5 mm — an excess of 11 per cent from June 1 to August 10, the MeT office said.
