The 36-year-old was found with cannabis and cash worth £7510.
A former shop worker from Kilwinning has had his personal licence revoked after being convicted of drugs offences.
Sgt David Markin of Ayrshire Licensing Department in Kilmarnock told Monday's meeting of North Ayrshire Licensing Board that Mandeep Dhaliwal had been convicted under the terms of the Licensing Scotland Act 2005.

The 36-year-old was convicted on February 13 at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 concerning the supply of a controlled drug, cannabis. The disposal at the time was a confiscation order of £7,510 and community payback order of unpaid work of 210 hours to be completed within a year.

At 10.40am on September 19 last year, police attended the accused's address in Kilwinning and were in possession of a search warrant.
Mr Dhaliwal was inside. A search was carried out for a quantity of green herbal material, and a quantity of cannabis weighing 885g and a quantity of cash worth £7510 were recovered along with a set of scales.
Some green herbal material was recovered and was found in preparation of individual deal bags. The value of the material recovered was given as £3,800.
Mr Dhaliwal, who used to work at the Premier store in Kilwinning Main Street, was sentenced on March 14 at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.
He told the Board: 'I regret what happened at that time. I was in a bad place myself. I have already paid for it by doing the community order.'
Cllr Christina Larsen said: "It is a serious offence and being a licence holder comes with responsibility. You have to be a fit and proper person and due to the conviction, I propose we revoke your licence for not being a fit and proper person.'
Her motion was seconded by cllr Ronnie Stalker and unanimously agreed by the board.

'The suspect's identity was confirmed and he was removed from the ground following the report. Antoine Semenyo thanks football world for support after he reports racist abuse

The incident was strongly condemned by representatives of both teams while the Premier League has said it will launch a full investigation. Writing on social media, Semenyo said: 'Last night at Anfield will stay with me forever – not because of one person's words, but because of how the entire football family stood together. 'To my @afcb team-mates who supported me in that moment, to the @liverpoolfc players and fans who showed their true character, to the @premierleague officials who handled it professionally – thank you. Football showed its best side when it mattered most. 'Scoring those two goals felt like speaking the only language that truly matters on the pitch. This is why I play – for moments like these, for my team-mates, for everyone who believes in what this beautiful game can be. 'The overwhelming messages of support from across the football world remind me why I love this sport. We keep moving forward, together.' Referee Anthony Taylor speaks with Liverpool manager Arne Slot (Peter Byrne/PA) The PA news agency understands police officers went into the referee's room at half-time, while an anti-discrimination message was read out to the Anfield crowd. Semenyo pulled Bournemouth level with two goals in the second half before Liverpool went on to claim a 4-2 win. The 25-year-old also highlighted racist abuse on Instagram, and PA understands Meta, the social media platform's parent company, is investigating and taking action against the offending comments and accounts, some of which are being disabled. Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk believes football has to continue to try to educate the next generation about racism after labelling the abuse aimed at Semenyo as a 'disgrace'. A great player but above all, a great human being. Only a strong character shows such resilience in those circumstances. We love you and are all with you, Antoine ❤️ — AFC Bournemouth 🍒 (@afcbournemouth) August 15, 2025 While Van Dijk agreed it was symptomatic of a wider problem not restricted to football, he said greater attempts had to be made to change the mindset as campaigns like taking the knee and 'Kick Racism out of football' had not been able to eradicate the issue. 'What else can we do? Because this is the very odd one (case) that has managed to say something that is obviously a disgrace,' he said. 'The only thing we can do is deal with it by dealing with him personally and try to educate the next generation. That is the only way to try and kick it out, in my opinion. 'I can't believe it. These things shouldn't happen but unfortunately it does and it is an absolute disgrace in my eyes. 'First and foremost these things should never happen in the world, not only football. I am happy to say I don't see it happening up until today actually. 'But in general racism is not of this world in my opinion, but if we are to be realistic, unfortunately, it still exists and that is the painful side of it. Thirty minutes into the first Premier League game of the season, and Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo is racially abused by someone in the crowd. Two nights ago, Tottenham's Mathys Tel was racially abused online. This is a stark reminder of an ugly reality: black players are… — Kick It Out (@kickitout) August 15, 2025 'We have to deal with it in the here and now.' Van Dijk offered words of support to Semenyo, adding: 'I am here for Antoine, whenever he needs it and we are here as a club to deal with it in the best way possible because it shouldn't happen. 'I've had loads of conversations with him about it: first and foremost I wanted to know what happened and I am glad the authorities are dealing with it all. 'But we stand with him completely and anything he needs for support, I am here for him. We are all here for him, to be honest, but the club as well and they are dealing with it in the right way, I am fully confident about that.' Liverpool Football Club is aware of an allegation of racist abuse made during our Premier League game against AFC Bournemouth. We condemn racism and discrimination in all forms, it has no place in society or football. — Liverpool FC (@LFC) August 15, 2025 Merseyside Police said a 47-year-old man was removed from the ground and an investigation was under way after his identity was confirmed. Chief Inspector Kev Chatterton, the match commander for the game, said: 'Merseyside Police will not tolerate hate crime of any form. 'We take incidents like this very seriously, and in cases like this we will be proactively seeking football banning orders, with the club, against those responsible.' The incident came two days after Tottenham's Mathys Tel received racist abuse online after missing a penalty in his side's Super Cup win against Paris St Germain.

West Lothian shopkeeper bravely speaks out as meat cleaver robber is jailed

Abdul Manan, who owns the Premier store in Armadale, says his team are 'getting there' after a difficult few weeks. A West Lothian shop owner says he and his staff have found it 'hard' after an employee was threatened by a thug brandishing a meat cleaver last month. ‌ Abdul Manan, who owns the Premier store in Armadale, says his team are 'getting there' after a difficult few weeks in which one of his employees was pushed backwards by Greig Parker, who was holding a meat cleaver and demanding cash from the till. ‌ Parker, who was wearing a balaclava, was eventually traced and arrested by police. He pleaded guilty to several charges this week at Livingston Sheriff Court and was jailed for four years. ‌ Speaking to Edinburgh Live in wake of the armed robber being put behind bars, Abdul thanked the local community for their help and says people have been coming in to the shop to check on the wellbeing of staff after the terrifying incident. He said: 'It has been hard but we're getting there. I think he maybe should have got longer for what he did but I would say the police have been really good as it has been a quick turnaround. 'They worked on it very quickly and a lot of people tried to help out after it happened, there has been a lot of care. People still come and ask, especially now it has been in the news they have been asking if we're doing okay. ‌ 'Since it happened we're being a lot more careful and have been putting more staff on just in case something similar happens again. The staff member who was on is getting there and doing ok but is obviously still a little shaken up. 'Overall I'm happy he's behind bars and happy with the way police acted quickly and the community for helping so much.' Shortly after the attack on June 26, CCTV footage was uploaded to the store's Facebook account as they appealed for witnesses to come forward. ‌ A terrified member of staff could be seen opening the till as Parker brandished the bladed weapon and made off with a handful of notes. However, Parker's movements were captured on Ring doorbell footage and he was arrested by police at a friend's house. The 47-year-old admitted carrying out the robbery and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards his former partner before leaving her home in possession of a knife on February 10. He was also sentenced for offences including police assault and two counts of abusing retail staff.
