World Oceans Day: coastal cleanup drive held

In connection with World Oceans Day, the Zoology department at the T.K. Madhava Memorial (TKMM) College, Nangiarkulangara conducted a cleaning drive on Arattupuzha coast on Sunday.
It was inaugurated by Arattupuzha grama panchayat president N. Sajeevan. The programme was organised under the aegis of the Ocean Society of India.
Students and staff of MUUP School, Arattupuzha, members of Alappuzha Natural History Society, Christian College, Chengannur, MSM College, Kayamkulam, Haritha Karma Sena, police personnel, fishers and others participated in the drive.

Chandigarh: Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma (GGDSD) College, Chandigarh organised a book fair Monday to mark National Librarian Day and the 133rd birth anniversary of Dr SR Ranganathan, considered the father of library science in India. It had a wide selection of books in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, biography, and academic titles aligned with the N EP. Organised in collaboration with the Readers Club and the National Digital Library of India Club, the fair included contributions from several publishers such as Pearson, S Chand, Penguin, McGraw Hill, Wiley, and others. The fair was inaugurated by college principal Ajay Sharma, registrar Ashutosh Sharma and head librarian Gurpreet Singh. The event aimed to promote the habit of reading among students and the wider community.

Lucknow: Shri Jai Narain Misra Postgraduate (JNPG) College and Shia PG College on Friday released their first merit lists for admission to UG programmes for the academic session 2025–26. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now "The first merit list for BA, BCom, BSc (Maths), BSc (Bio), BSc (Statistics) and BSc (Computer Science) has been released on the college website said JNPG College principal Vinod Chandra. Admissions for shortlisted candidates will begin on July 19 and continue on all working days from 10 am to 3 pm. The merit list will remain valid till July 22, after which a second merit list (if required) will be published. The candidates must report to their respective faculties Saturday with the filled application form, educational documents, caste certificate, original character certificate, Aadhaar card, documents related to weightage, LURN photocopy, and two sets of photocopies of all required documents for counselling and fee payment. The principal also notified that registration dates for LLB and postgraduate courses have been extended till July 25, and for BCA, BCom. (Hons), BBA (IB), and BPEd till July 22. Shia PG College has released its first selected and waiting lists for BA, BSc (Biology), BCom (Regular & Self-Financed), and BBA. Lists are available on and said Mirza Mohammad Abu Tayyab, director, Admission Committee. Selected candidates for BA, BSc (Bio), and BCom can pay fees online via admission portal.
