Kelly Clarkson admits she has had 'a lot of personal ups and downs' in recent years

Yahoo21-03-2025

Kelly Clarkson has had "a lot of ups and downs" personally in recent years. The 42-year-old singer - who split from Brandon Blackstock in 2022 after just under a decade of marriage - has carved out a secondary career as a TV host with her eponymous talkshow since 2019 and as she celebrated her milestone 1000th episode, admitted that she has had to deal with a lot away from the cameras as well. During Thursday's (20.01.25) episode, she told the studio audience: "I cannot believe today marks the 1,000th. It's crazy. "We have met some hugely talented people, tons of big stars and inspiring everyday heroes. "We have created a community and supported each other through a lot of ups and downs. "A lot of ups and downs personally as well!" The 'Behind These Hazel Eyes' hitmaker did not address her divorce specifically, and instead reflected on the times she hosted the show "with an eye patch" and with her leg in a cast" on two separate occasions as she dealt with injuries. Kelly - who has River, 10, and eight-year-old Remy with her ex-husband - added that she and her audience have "laughed and cried" together upon the celebration. She said: "For 1,000 episodes, we have laughed together, we have cried together with beautiful stories, sang together with some people, danced together, celebrated and competed together." The 'Breakaway' songstress previously revealed that production on the first season of the show was "really rough" for her because she had to deal with so much in her personal life. She said: "'I was going through a really rough few years, and even in the first season it was rough behind closed doors. "Just to be able to come into season 5 feeling good and knowing my kids feel good — and the dust has settled. Season five is my first season to actually enjoy every minute of it."

A Day To Remember and Yellowcard just announced they're striking out on the nationwide 'Maximum Fun Tour' from September through November this year. While on the road, the anti-establishment co-headliners have two shows scheduled in New York and New Jersey. First up, they hit Syracuse, NY's Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheatre on Wednesday, Sept. 10. Then, the pair is scheduled to melt faces at Camden, NJ's Freedom Mortgage Pavilion on Thursday, Sept. 11. On select dates, the raucous duo will be joined by special guests State Champs, The Wonder Years, Boundaries and Dinosaur Pile-Up. This run comes on the heels of the release of A Day To Remember's eighth studio album 'Big Ole Album Vol. 1,' which hit shelves earlier this year. As for Yellowcard, their first record in a decade, the Travis Barker-produced 'Better Days' allegedly drops Oct. 10. In addition to the tour and new output, both acts also have Vans Warped Tour dates lined up this summer and fall. Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming A Day To Remember shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale for the 'Maximum Fun Tour' is Friday, June 6. 'Ocean Avenue' A Day To Remember new music Just a few months ahead of the tour announcement, A Day To Remember unveiled their eighth studio album 'Big Ole Album Vol. 1.' As always, the group oscillates between melodic pop, angsty punk and full-on metal, which creates a sense of whiplash while listening. There's little room to breathe but that's not necessary when a record is as much of a shot of adrenaline as 'Big Ole Album Vol. 1' is. Highlights here include the fist-pumping rocker 'Feedback,' melodic country-esque ode to buddies 'All My Friends' and invigorating 'LeBron.' All that being said, others may have a totally different interpretation of the record depending on taste. Our favorites here lean punk- some listeners may prefer the heavy metal. ADTR really caters to totally different audiences and that's part of what makes them so special. Want to give the album a spin? Click here to rock out to 'Big Ole Album Vol. 1.' Yellowcard new music Ahead of the release of 'Better Days,' Yellowcard has dropped a pair of hard-charging singles. The title track 'Better Days' kicks things off with a bit of feedback before launching into the group's anthemic sound — soaring vocals and rockin' guitar — and hit overdrive. It's a delight. Up next, 'honestly i' is a bit more unconventional with its shaky accordian-like sound off the top. Speedy percussions steady the operation and by a minute in, the song returns to classic Yellowcard territory. To hear for yourself, you can find both tracks here. 'Maximum Fun Tour' special guests In the off chance you need to brush up on the opening acts' respective sounds, here's each artist's most-streamed song on Spotify. State Champs: 'Secrets' The Wonder Years: 'Came Out Swinging' Boundaries: 'Easily Erased' Dinosaur Pile-Up: 'Back Foot' Huge acts on tour in 2025 Need more genre-bending punk and metal in your life? Kelly Clarkson Reportedly Facing 'Very Painful' Personal Struggles That Might Force Her To Quit Her Popular Show

Kelly Clarkson has reportedly had a "moment of clarity" following her brief break from her widely popular talk show due to personal matters. Back in March, the singer abruptly stepped away from her show for two weeks, leaving celebrity guests to fill in for her until her return. Now, sources claim that Kelly Clarkson faced "very painful" personal issues, and that she might leave her show, as she "knows her limits." According to a new report, Clarkson is seeing things more clearly now after going through a tough period in her life that forced her to take a break from her show in March. While she has yet to speak on the reason behind her absence, fans at the time were told that the singer had a "private matter" to attend to, which has left many concerned to this day. "This has all been very painful for her," an industry source who has worked with Clarkson told Page Six. They continued, "The difficulty is that Kelly, like all of us, wants to be liked, and she had to deal with this new moment in her life. She knew she had to step down for a minute." The industry insider further shared: "She has her priorities, and her family comes first, but I think she's been humbled by the whole situation… what has happened has given her a moment of clarity, I think." Clarkson's recent issues came at a time when she was getting her life back on track after a bitter divorce battle with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. The former couple, who called it quits on their marriage in 2020, share two children together: daughter River Rose and son Remington "Remy" Alexander. Clarkson herself was open about the toll the divorce took on her. In a chat with Apple Music in 2023, she admitted, "Just to be brutally honest, I did not handle [the divorce] well." Blackstock and Clarkson's split was further complicated by the role he played as her manager, the brain behind her multimillion-dollar deal with NBC, and her talk show. "The irony is that he's had a very positive influence on her life; he made these phenomenal deals for her, and she wouldn't be here without him. But it's hard to be a manager and a husband," the industry insider noted. "At the time, she greatly appreciated what he had done for her career." Now, beyond her hectic daytime show, Clarkson has several other endeavors weighing on her, including her recently launched record label, High Road Records, and her upcoming Las Vegas residency, "Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions," which is set to begin on July 4. These various ventures, along with her personal issues, have raised questions about the future of her daytime show. "She knows her limits, even on 'The Voice', when she was working so hard, she knew when she needed a refresh – that's what you're seeing now," the industry insider stated, per Page Six. "She is a very feeling, sensitive person, as you see on the talk show, and that's both in her personal and professional life." Back in April, insiders revealed to Page Six that the "Wrapped In Red" singer was considering quitting her talk show to spend more time with her children. However, NBC executives are reportedly doing everything they can to keep her happy, in the hope that she will reconsider her decision to step down from the role she has been helming since 2019. "Kelly's number one priority is her children, and they always will be," a source told the news outlet about Clarkson. "The show is grueling. It's a whole lot of work, and I hear that Kelly would like to spend more time down South." Another source explained that NBC would like to ensure Clarkson remains on the network to host holiday specials, such as "Christmas in Rockefeller Center." After her return from her two-week break, Clarkson noted how she and her family experienced "kind of a dark week." During an episode of "The Kelly Clarkson Show," where she hosted the stars of "A Minecraft Movie," Danielle Brooks, Jack Black, and Jason Momoa, Clarkson opened up about how their efforts on the film positively affected her family. "It was kind of a dark week for me and my family, and I got to preview the movie with them," she shared, per Decider. "It was such an exciting thing. So I just wanted to say thank you. It brought my kids out of, like, a sad time to, like, just a normal kind of time." The "Because of You" singer did not elaborate on the nature of the "sad time" as she went on to sing "A Minecraft Movie" praises, noting that "it's such a great film." "And that's the reason why I love it, 'cause it's like a family film. Everybody can watch, it makes you feel good," Clarkson added. "It's inspiring, it's creative. Well done on the movie. It's so good."

Kelly Clarkson's New Single Jumps Nearly 300% In Sales

Kelly Clarkson's 'Where Have You Been?' rebounds to No. 10 on Digital Song Sales after The Voice ... More performance, with purchases climbing nearly 300% in just days. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 22: Kelly Clarkson is seen performing during NBC's "Today" show Citi Concert Series at Rockefeller Plaza on September 22, 2023 in New York City. (Photo by Gilbert Carrasquillo/GC Images) Kelly Clarkson surprised and delighted fans earlier this month with a brand new single, "Where Have You Been?" which dropped on May 2. That tune came with little warning, and while it's not entirely clear if she has plans to produce another album anytime soon, any new work from the superstar is always welcome by her followers. While it hasn't become an unqualified smash — the kind she has scored multiple times throughout her lengthy and storied career — "Where Have You Been?" was an instant bestseller. Now, following a high-profile TV performance, the track has become a top performer again on a Billboard tally. "Where Have You Been" returns to one ranking in America this week. The single reenters the Digital Song Sales tally, the list of the top-selling tracks in the country, and it manages to reappear in the highest space. Clarkson lands at No. 10 this frame after not appearing anywhere on the 25-spot roster just a few days ago. Luminate reports that in the past tracking period, "Where Have You Been" sold a little over 2,700 copies. That's up a whopping 289% from the prior frame, when it managed just 700 sales — an increase of almost exactly 2,000 purchases in the span of only a matter of days. While Clarkson got her start on American Idol, she has since become a fixture on The Voice, another popular singing reality series. The Grammy winner performed the track on an episode of The Voice earlier this month, and that appearance seems to have had a significant positive effect on sales. Clarkson was a judge on The Voice starting with season 14 in 2018. She remained on the program for eight consecutive stints, then stepped away for a short time before returning for season 22.
