Washington National Guard deployed in search for father accused of killing daughters
PORTLAND, Ore. () — Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson has deployed the state's National Guard in the manhunt for a father accused of killing his three daughters.
In a statement issued on Friday, the governor said he is utilizing emergency funds in the now days-long search for 32-year-old Travis Decker. The Chelan County Sheriff's Office has also asked the state to provide helicopter transportation for the law enforcement officers searching in remote areas.

Decker's daughters — 5-year-old Olivia, 8-year-old Evelyn and 9-year-old Paityn — were on Monday, the Wenatchee Police Department said. The agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation found their father's truck in the same area, but were unable to locate him.
Authorities said the girls' mother first called emergency responders on Friday, May 30, when they didn't return from their custodial visit with Decker.
'As a parent, my heart goes out to Paityn, Evelyn and Olivia's mom, Whitney, and all those who love them,' Gov. Ferguson said in his statement. 'The brutal murder of these young children has shocked our state. I'm committed to supporting law enforcement as they seek justice for Paityn, Evelyn and Olivia.'
Officials have released photos of Decker to assist with the manhunt. According to investigators, the suspect is 5'8' and a former Army soldier. It is unknown whether he could be armed.

The man is facing three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of first-degree kidnapping.
'I want to remind Washingtonians to be aware of safety directives from law enforcement as the search continues. If you live in the area, keep your doors and windows locked. Avoid closed areas, which currently include the Enchantments and the Icicle River area. If you see Travis Decker, do not approach – call 911,' Ferguson added.

1 critically hurt after boat fire near NYC's Hart Island forces nearly 2 dozen into water
A boat fire near Hart Island forced nearly two dozen people into the water Saturday night, and one person is reported to be in critical condition. FDNY Assistant Chief Mike Meyers said routine marine patrols came across the boat fire near the east end of the island around 8:30 p.m. The crews noticed multiple people in the water and called for more emergency responders. According to Meyers, three people had to be pulled from the water. One of those victims was last reported to be in critical condition. The other two are expected to be OK. Nineteen other people were able to swim to shore on their own, Meyers said. They were then taken to a local hospital to be checked out. Meyers said responding to incidents on the water is very difficult. "We have to get those patients from the water or from boats onto the land and coordinate the land units and EMS units as to where those marine boats are gonna be bringing them," he said. "So it's an incredibly complex operation. Multiple agencies are always involved just like tonight." The cause of the boat fire is under investigation.
