Everton handed injury boost as David Moyes shares update before crucial summer
The operation on Everton defender James Tarkowski's hamstring is believed to have gone well. The centre-back, whose season ended when he pulled up at Goodison Park against Manchester City, underwent surgery on the injury around the start of the month.
The early indications are that the procedure went well, boosting hopes the centre back will be able to complete a positive recovery over the summer.
Tarkowski limped off in the second half of the home defeat to City on April 19. The game was goalless at the time and Pep Guardiola's side took advantage of the loss of the talismanic 32-year-old to grab three points with two late goals.

The severity of the injury, which ended Tarkowski's run of 111 consecutive Premier League starts, quickly became clear and he was soon ruled out for the rest of the campaign.
Moyes said the following week that the former Burnley player's rehabilitation could impact his pre-season - a major blow given the manager's desire to rebuild his squad this summer around the defensive axis of Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite and goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
Asked about Tarkowski's situation, Moyes said: 'The word was it [the surgery] was really good, they went quite quickly. They stitched it together, I'm getting told, so they seem to think it went well, the operation."
