
(Video) DAY6 YoungK's Recent Song Cover Was Filmed In Mega Star Arena?
Last year, K-pop rock band DAY6 (데이식스) won over Malaysian fans with their first Malaysian concert at Mega Star Arena. Almost a year after the show, the quartet continues to make headlines among Malaysian fans, with some suspecting that their newest cover drop could have been filmed at last year's concert venue.
Yesterday (3rd June 2025), DAY6 member YoungK (영케이) posted a short cover of 'Close To You' by The Carpenters on their socials. The 48-second cover features a familiar red seat in a dimly lit hall, which eagle-eyed fans have speculated could be the upper seating area of Mega Star Arena.
The observation was made by a local fan via Twitter, who pointed out that the red seats look like those on the upper deck of Mega Star Arena. The fans speculate that the filming of the cover could have taken place in Malaysia during their first concert last year. Fans have also pointed out the similarity of YoungK's outfit in the cover video to what he wore during the soundcheck session on the show's second-day performance, which solidified speculations.
Other than the similarity in outfits and hairstyle, other fans have also noticed the familiar green sign, which resembles Malaysia's exit sign. Twitter user @/day6inifinite comments, 'Am I delusional or is this Mega Star Arena and the green exit sign with the YoungK outfit for sound check day 2 in KL?'. The comments section is also filled with fan support for the vocalist's new cover.
While there's no confirmation yet, fans are convinced the cover was filmed in our very own city. What are your thoughts?

Subscribe to our FREE A Malaysian woman posted on social media about her recent family trip to Thailand, and how they came across a tent selling pets at Samila Beach in Songkhla. According to her post on Threads, she and her husband spent 4,500 baht (RM580) to buy a Persian cat for their child at the pet sale and managed to bring the feline back to Penang with no trouble from border authorities at all. 'We thought we were just going to have a look, then (our child) hugged the cat and didn't want to let go, so we bought a two-month-old Persian cat and now we've arrived safely in Penang. 'Do you think it was worth it buying this cat? We've taken care of it for two weeks now and it's so clever,' she said in the caption. Some were suspicious because the cat their child hugged was different from the cat they brought home A few users on Threads were questioning, from photos, why the cat that the couple's child was holding was different from the cat they brought back to Penang. It was later explained that she bought a different cat from the one her daughter was holding. She then emphasised that she really did buy the cat from Songkhla and was not lying about bringing the animal back from Thailand. The seller allegedly told her that the cat can be brought back to Malaysia with no issues Some folks asked her how she managed to pass border control when transporting the cat back to Malaysia. She told the other users that she had asked the seller prior to purchasing the feline 'Can we bring the cat back to Malaysia? What do we do at the border?'. She then claimed that the seller said it wouldn't be a problem because a cat is not like other animals that require a licence to purchase. When they reached the border, she claimed that customs officers checked their entire car and let them through back into Malaysia. 'When we reached the border, customs checked our entire car and they were okay. If we weren't allowed to bring it back, we wouldn't. But the seller said it was okay and not wrong to do so,' she said. Imported animals need to be quarantined before entering Malaysia One user on Threads asked about the family's experience at the border when they brought the cat through, and stated that cats being imported into the country would usually be quarantined by the Department of Quarantine and Inspection Services Malaysia (MAQIS). Meanwhile, another individual threatened to report the family to MAQIS for bringing an animal from another country into Malaysia without quarantine, reminding them about rules to prevent diseases from spreading. TRP reached out to MAQIS to ask them about the procedure for bringing in animals from other countries, including Thailand. A spokesperson said on the phone 'According to procedure, even a tiny plant will be confiscated. What more a live cat'. Additionally, an email response from MAQIS included documents on official terms for importing pets (cats and dogs). It explained that the conditions are important in ensuring the safety of Malaysia's biosecurity. In the document, MAQIS highlighted the import permit section which states that the animal must be accompanied by a pet passport or certificate containing a full description or identification. A list of conditions are also required under the Veterinary Certification, while the Quarantine Requirement section states that the animal being imported must undergo a compulsory quarantine period of not less than 14 days. Meanwhile, the guideline for importing pets published on MAQIS' website states nine rules before an animal such as a cat or dog can be brought past the border. Among the rules stated in the guideline include the animal cannot be below three months of age, must have a microship implanted, and is compulsory to undergo quarantine as soon as it reaches Malaysia. (Video) RapidKL Amuses Netizens With Parody Of K-pop Band DAY6's 'Congratulations' MV
If you've never checked out RapidKL's official TikTok account, you might want to start doing so today. The metro system has garnered attention lately with its hilarious TikTok videos, like this recent parody of K-pop band DAY6's (데이식스) music video. Yesterday (Thursday, 5th June 2025), RapidKL shared a new video on its official TikTok account. The metro system's social media team is known for creating funny videos with messages to inform passengers of train and bus etiquette. Most of the videos reference trending topics and memes. However, this particular video went viral amongst K-pop fans for being a parody of DAY6's 'Congratulations' music video. In the original music video, the main character, played by actor Choi Wooshik, reminisces about a past relationship while on a train. He then stumbles across his ex-girlfriend on the train coach. However, she is now with another man. RapidKL's parody replicates key scenes from the music video, including the ending when the main character exits the coach after seeing his ex with a new partner. The video quickly went viral and gained over 120,000 views in the first 12 hours. Most comments are from K-pop fans amused by the unexpected parody. Some even quipped that RapidKL should open a new coach for single people to avoid stumbling across couples, or their exes, on trains. Others wondered if the video hints that the band would return to Malaysia for a new concert. Funnily enough, this isn't the first time the RapidKL social media team has referenced or mentioned DAY6. In fact, one of the people in charge of the TikTok account is known amongst local K-pop fans for being a MYDAY (DAY6 fan). The anonymous team member also posted about DAY6's first solo concert in Kuala Lumpur, showing off their purchased ticket to the show. Some fans are now asking for the RapidKL team to parody other music videos filmed on trains. I-DLE's MINNIE To Make Special Appearance In KL This July
Although she has admitted she's not the best at replying to messages, I-DLE (아이들) member MINNIE (민니/มินนี่) still made sure to answer fans' calls for her to visit. The 'Queen Card' singer has now been confirmed to make a special appearance in Kuala Lumpur next month! Following the success of the recent BRICE Truffle launch event featuring 4 members of TREASURE, ecoBrown teased fans with the promise of another K-pop idol visiting Malaysia for an upcoming event. From the silhouette photo posted online, many were quick to correctly guess that the mystery idol was none other than MINNIE of I-DLE. Yesterday (Thursday, 5th June), ecoBrown officially announced that MINNIE will be making a special appearance in Kuala Lumpur soon. Although further details have yet to be revealed, it's reasonable to assume that the 'BRICE with MINNIE' event will follow a similar format to the previous one with TREASURE, where fans had the opportunity to meet and take photos with the artists. 'Something very special is in the works for our fans and customers 💫.
