Shock Serie A side 'enter race for Antony' as Brazilian makes his preference clear while Man United look to cut their losses on £86m flop
Italian side Como have tried to sign Manchester United outcast Antony as the winger desperately tries to end his nightmare spell at Old Trafford.
The 25-year-old has endured a miserable stint at United and has been unable to fulfill the £86million price tag the Red Devils paid Ajax for his services in 2022.
He has only scored 12 goals and provided five assists in 96 games for the club and even revealed he considered retirement while in Manchester.
Antony is contracted until 2027 but is set to be axed after unconvincing performances under both Ruben Amorim and Erik ten Hag.
The Brazilian was sent on loan to Betis in January and went on to become one of their stars of the season, scoring 14 times in 26 games in just five months.
He earned rave reviews from players and fans alike as he earned a recall to the Brazil national team.

Antony's performances at Betis even led club legend Joaquin to joke that he would kidnap the forward to keep him at the club.
However, the winger's loan spell concluded at the end of last season and he is currently returning to United.
But the Red Devils look set to cut their losses and have opened the door for Antony's permanent exit.
Italian side Como have attempted to sign the Brazilian in recent days but he is holding out on completing a move to Real Betis, according to Fabrizio Romano.
United are aware of Antony's preference but there has been no agreement between the clubs yet.
Como are managed by former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas and count former Spurs star Dele Alli on their books.
They finished in 10th place in Serie A last season, having been promoted the previous season.

Antony is unlikely to stay at United beyond the summer after admitting he 'hit rock' bottom at United.
'I started to doubt, even in myself,' he said. 'But, my family always told me to stay calm, because the process is painful and people must accept it. Today, I understand it better after everything I went through. I am grateful for that experience.'
But even if he were to remain, he would reportedly be banned from the club's pre-season tour of the US.

Fernandes is up against Liverpool duo Mo Salah and Alexis MacAllister, as well as Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice and Chelsea forward Cole Palmer. United skipper Fernandes scored eight goals in 36 league appearances last season and 19 in all competitions. The award will be presented at a ceremony in Manchester on August 19. As I've always said, I would be willing to do it if United thought it was best to move on. I spoke with the coach, Ruben Amorim, who really tried to talk me out of it. " Manchester United said they didn't want to sell me. They said if I wanted to go I could, but they didn't need the money. From my side, it was a very ambitious proposal, the president was a fantastic person. I never talked about the money, it ended up coming up later, with my agent. "I had to make the decision as a family and understand what I wanted for my future. That was the question my wife asked, what my professional goals would be. At no point did she say yes or no, she always supported me and put my professional side first. "It was an easy move, even at a family level. I had Ruben Neves, Joao Cancelo. My children are used to playing with theirs. But I simply want to stay at the highest level, playing in the big competitions, because I still feel capable of that. "I want to continue to be happy and do what I love most. I'm still very passionate about this sport. It's my way of seeing football and I'm happy with my decision."
