This week, the song that started it all is finally matched by one of Gaga's most recent releases, which couldn't sound less like her introductory hit – and yet, the two have now spent the same amount of time on the Hot 100.
49 Weeks on the Hot 100
"Die With a Smile," Gaga's collaboration with Bruno Mars, reaches 49 weeks on the Hot 100. As it hits that milestone, "Die With a Smile" ties "Just Dance" for the honor of being Gaga's longest-running success on the most important songs tally in America.

Once again, "Die With a Smile" holds at No. 10 on the Hot 100. The fact that it remains within the chart's highest tier after 49 weeks — at which point "Just Dance" was about to disappear — speaks volumes about the popularity of "Die With a Smile" and how rankings are now compiled differently these days.
"Die With a Smile" Will Likely Win in a Few Days
It seems inevitable that "Die With a Smile" will pass "Just Dance" in just a few days, and there's no telling how much longer it might remain on the list. The track appears to be a surefire bet to become Gaga's first to hit a full year on the competitive ranking, and it could continue to find space on the Hot 100 for months.
"Die With a Smile" Beats 'Just the Way You Are'
For Mars, "Die With a Smile" breaks out of a tie with his own breakout hit "Just the Way You Are" to become his third-longest-charting Hot 100 smash. "Uptown Funk" with Mark Ronson remains his greatest success, as it spent 56 weeks on the tally, 14 of which were at No. 1. "That's What I Like," which topped the ranking once in May 2017, slipped off after exactly a year.
"Die With a Smile" is all but certain to match "That's What I Like" within a month. Whether it can catch up to "Uptown Funk," however, remains to be seen.
