Frenchman Noa Essengue listed as a top-10 pick in one mock draft
Noa Essengue is considered one of the top international prospects in the 2025 NBA draft, and the Frenchman was recently listed as a top-10 pick in one mock draft.
Essengue is averaging 10.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists on 51.6% shooting from the field in 52 games with ratiopharm Ulm in the German League. He has scored at least 20 points six times, including a 21-point performance on May 17.
The 6-foot-10 forward is considered a potential lottery pick, with his size, rebounding and defensive versatility. He has looked increasingly comfortable on offense, prompting Jonathan Wasserman to list him eighth in the latest mock draft on Bleacher Report.
Big scoring outputs are becoming more common for Noa Essengue in the German BBL. The easy baskets off rim runs, cuts and offensive rebounds have been consistent all season. But he's looking more comfortable converting off self-created drives and knocking down rhythm threes.
Essengue also boasts a strong interior game and dazzled in the open court in fastbreak situations after creating turnovers with his length and instincts on defense. He has played a key role, helping his team advance to the semifinals of the German League playoffs.
The 18-year-old is among several international prospects considered possible first-round picks, along with the likes of Joan Beringer, Hugo González, Ben Saraf and Nolan Traoré, among others. He likely won't have the chance to work out for teams, with his team on a deep playoff run.
Essengue projects to be able to fit in with several teams drafting in the lottery. He can do several things on the court and should only continue to improve at the next level.
The draft will take place on June 25-26 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Adam Silver: NBA All-Star game will feature 'some form of USA against the world'
Adam Silver, seen here at the 2025 NBA All-Star weekend, announced that a new format will debut at next season's All-Star game. (Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images) NBA commissioner Adam Silver confirmed on Wednesday a new All-Star format that's been floated since the disaster that was February's All-Star game. Next season's game will feature a USA vs. the world format. Silver announced the decision while speaking on FS1's "Breakfast Ball." Advertisement The format will debut on NBC in the first season of the network's return to covering the NBA under the league's new media rights deal. It will take place during the Winter Olympics that will also air on NBC. "What better time to feature some form of USA against the world?" Silver said. Silver said that he's "not exactly sure what the format will be yet." He noted that he "paid a lot of attention to what the NHL did" during its All-Star break this season. The NHL scrapped its traditional All-Star format in February for a international tournament that was a big success among fans and players. It was held up in contrast to the debut NBA's four-team mini-tournament that drew widespread scorn alongside the coverage of the event.

Amelie Mauresmo defends French Open scheduling as women feel ‘not worthy'
Amelie Mauresmo has defended the French Open's policy of prioritising men's matches over women's in its prestigious night sessions. Roland Garros chiefs are once again under fire for snubbing women in the prime-time slot under the lights on Court Philippe-Chatrier. Advertisement All six night sessions at Roland Garros this year have been men's matches - including British number one Jack Draper's four-set, three-hour win over Frenchman Gael Monfils on Thursday night. There have been only four matches from the women's draw held in the slot since it was introduced in 2021. Pressed as to whether the message coming across was that women are "not worthy", Mauresmo snapped: "That's not what we're saying. I have to stop you right there. "For me, the message is not changing, and it has never been that the girls are not worthy to play at night. It's never been this. I will not accept that you carry this message. That's really clear to me." Advertisement WTA stars Coco Gauff and Ons Jabeur have this week criticised the schedulers for not showcasing women's tennis, with the latter saying: "I don't think they have daughters." But tournament director and former world number one Mauresmo insists men's matches take priority because they are longer, giving spectators more value for money. French Open tournament director Mauresmo (Getty Images) "We have one single match per night session. It hasn't changed. Accordingly, we won't change everything again," she said. "The play time also is taken into consideration, potential play time, obviously because we can't plan ahead, be it for women's tennis or men's tennis. Advertisement "But we have to take it into consideration as to the 15,000 spectators coming in for the night session. "Since men's tennis is played at the best-of-five sets, three sets will be played at a minimum. It's complicated for us to do otherwise." PA
