Amazon's £160 smartwatch 'great for an active lifestyle' now £36
Amazon shoppers have been praising an affordable smartwatch that helps streamline health, fitness and daily life. It is usually sold with a three-figure price tag, but an offer has made it almost 80% cheaper than usual.
The OUKITEL Smartwatch is normally £159.99, but has been discounted to just under £35.99 during an Amazon sale. It claims the "reliable" watch is packed with all the expected features of a device like this for a much more affordable price compared to major brands like Apple or FitBit.
It can handle phone calls, respond to voice commands and get "instant notifications" from texts, emails and social media platforms.
The waterproof watch offers "real-time" health alerts and plenty of options for tracking fitness with more than 110 different programmes. Amazon adds: "The watch can help you stay active."
There are lots more features packed into this affordable gadget such as access to weather forecasts, a global world clock, cycle tracking, and alarm clock functions. On top of this, it can set timers, act as a stopwatch, remotely control the camera on your smartphone and manage music playback.
The watch claims to get a full charge within two hours, which can last "up to 10 days of daily use" - meaning you can confidently wear your smartwatch without the hassle of frequent charging. The face is fully customisable with "a vast selection of 100 faces." If none suit your style, people can upload their own photos with "endless possibilities" to personalise and make it uniquely yours.
There are similar devices on the market for people wanting an affordable way into the smartwatch world without spending hundreds of pounds. For example, Sports Direct is offering this Karrimor Smart Watch (£19.99, down from £49.99) and the Reflex Active Series 23 Smart Watch from Currys (£39.99), but hundreds preferred this Amazon deal, which has almost 94% of its reviews as five stars.
One said: "This smartwatch looks great on the wrist and works flawlessly. The AMOLED display is bright and clear, and I love the Bluetooth calling and health tracking features. It's comfortable to wear and perfect for workouts or daily use." Another added: "This smartwatch is exactly what I wanted! It's easy to use, stylish looking, very good quality, the screen is exceptionally clear."
A third wrote: "It's a great looking watch with great features. The call sound quality is excellent. Great for an active lifestyle. Comfortable to wear."
But, some had issues. One shopper claimed that their device had sensors which are "notoriously imprecise" and another suggested: "it looks pretty well built, but I wouldn't swear by its ability to be waterproof." A third warned: "The measurement of heart rate is a bit inaccurate, occasionally returning totally wrong values."
Someone else put: "This watch is great value for money. Very stylish, quick and easy to set up, intuitive and easy to use features, and impressive battery life, it has far more features than I expected or actually used." And, one more added: "The aluminum housing looks robust without being bulky. The pleasantly soft silicone strap is quick to replace and fits comfortably even after a long day."
