12-year-old accused of threatening to shoot up Prairie Grove Middle School
PRAIRIE GROVE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A 12-year-old is facing a felony charge after he reportedly made a threat saying he was going to go to the Prairie Grove Middle School and 'shoot it up' last month, according to authorities.
The Prairie Grove Police Department said on the evening of May 17, a child who went to school in Huntsville was on a Snapchat video call with students from nearby schools when he was kicked out of the call.
One taken to hospital after house fire in Rogers
PGPD said that after he was invited back into the group, the child made a threat towards a Prairie Grove student who reportedly kicked him out of the group. The child then threatened the student and said he was going to come to his school and 'shoot it up.'
Parents learned about the threat and reported it to PGPD the next day.
The department said that with the help of a school resource officer at the Huntsville school, the child was detained and cited for threatening to commit an act of mass violence on school property.

The breakthrough came from a single hair found in Lincks' truck, decades after Morgan went missing. National Center for Missing and Exploited Children uses forensic artists to help save lives 'Somehow it stayed there, that piece of hair to be vacuumed up. That's incredible,' said Kristen Mittelman, Chief Development Officer at Othram Labs. 'The first thing we do is we extract DNA from the rootless hair. It goes into the lab for a DNA library to be sequenced. In this case, we compared it to a family sequence.' Next Monday, June 9, marks the 30th anniversary of Morgan Nick's disappearance, and a two-hour special titled Chasing Fireflies will air in two parts on June 9 and 10, offering an in-depth look at the case, featuring investigators, forensic experts, Morgan's mother Colleen and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. Orbeez gun leads to aggravated assault arrest in Siloam Springs
Siloam Springs, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Gentry man was arrested on May 31 after allegedly pointing a toy gun at a woman in Siloam Springs, according to court documents. Donnovan Hayes, 18, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault. No formal charges have been filed as of June 5. According to a probable cause affidavit, police responded around 4:31 p.m. to a report of an individual with a gun in Siloam Springs. Officers found gray Ford Fusion matching the suspect vehicle description at the scene. After being briefly held at gunpoint, all three occupants in the Ford were detained without incident. A white object resembling a firearm, later identified as an Orbeez gun, fell from the vehicle as one person exited, according to the affidavit. An alleged victim, parked nearby, told police the front passenger, Hayes, pointed what appeared to be a gun at them, leaving her and her children frightened. According to the affidavit, that Hayes denied pointing the gun at the victim. Players reportedly used the Life360 app to track each other during the game. L.I. teacher accused of posing as teen to solicit nude photos of underage girls
A former Long Island high school teacher who allegedly posed as a teen to solicit explicit images from underage girls has been indicted for promoting a sexual performance by a child and related charges, officials said Thursday. Ryan McCaffery, a former social studies teacher at Riverhead High School, was arrested May 12 by New York State Police following a months-long investigation. The 37-year-old Ridge resident is accused of using a fake Snapchat name to communicate with 'female children,' according to the Suffolk County district attorney. A multi-agency investigation began in Suffolk County last fall when detectives received a tip about an individual who'd allegedly shared child sexual abuse material on the messaging app Kik. Earlier this year, police executed a search warrant at McCaffery's home and recovered several electronic devices. A forensic analysis of those devices revealed the defendant had allegedly been communicating with 'multiple underage girls' while posing as a teenager on Snapchat. According to prosecutors, he sent images of his exposed genitals to the victims and requested nude photos in return. Authorities said McCaffery had also been investigated in Bergen County, N.J., after parents reported their daughters had experienced similar things on Snapchat. An investigation determined McCaffery had 'requested nude photos and engaged in sexual acts while video chatting' with victims under the age of 13. He was taken into custody in New Jersey on Feb. 14 and charged with sexual assault, child endangerment and lewdness. The case, which is not related to McCaffery's case in Suffolk County, is still pending. McCaffery was arraigned on Wednesday for the charges in New York, including multiple counts of attempted use of a child in a sexual performance and disseminating indecent material to minors. His bail was set at $100,000 cash, $400,000 bond, or a $1 million partially secured bond. He's due back in court July 17.
